Our short vaca at the River
This is a very neat house and property that feels secluded even though there are major roads close by. We were graciously accommodated on several levels by our awesome host, Pam! Thank you for helping our family make memories!

Hidden gem on the Susquehanna
We've stayed here multiple times and every trip is fantastic. We bring a large group of people for the GAOS show and the space allows us to gather for meals, hang out on the deck together, and enjoy the beauty of the river as it flows by. Pam is a fantastic host and we're always looking forward to our next visit.

Great Location/Great Views
We had a great time enjoying the river views while reminiscing around the dining room table. The rental was very clean and comfortable with plenty tons of amenities. Definitely would consider booking another stay here at this location!!

Great place with beautiful views!
Three families came together here to celebrate Thanksgiving, 2023. The kitchen and dining areas were perfect for our large group. The bedroom situation is definitely for families/friends who are used to having sleepovers (open loft, not much privacy for some) and the beds were not the most comfortable- but it all worked well for us! We lucked out with the weather and got to enjoy the beautiful porches, bikes and boats too. A great place!

About the host

I grew up Northwest of Pittsburgh in a small town surrounded by rivers and mountains. My family had a house in the woods, nestled in a hollow with a lovely creek running through the property. I spent my childhood outdoors, climbing trees, swimming in the river, and playing in the creek! I still love the outdoors (but no longer climb trees!) and have a house just down the road from this cottage. I have bees, chickens, and dogs, Daisy and Otis - a menagerie of furry friends that keep me busy and entertained. I am forever grateful to have my daughter and son-in-law living just 20 minutes away from me, and I get to enjoy them and their company often. I have been blessed with an amazing family and fabulous neighbors here on River Road and cannot imagine living my life anywhere else!

Why they chose this property

When we built our own house in 2007 and first moved to the River Road area, we fell in love with this cottage when we would walk past it. It was of course owned at that time by someone else, but we talked about how lovely it would be to own it ourselves one day. The house was originally built in 1939 as a summer home for a Harrisburg family and is filled with character!
The wood work throughout the house and fabulous deck out back intrigued us, and we knew it would be a great place to entertain. When it went up for sale, we made an offer on day one! We knew we could give this cottage what it needs - some time/attention, a little love, and fill it with people who would enjoy the river and the relaxing peace this cottage has to offer. We hope that you enjoy this cottage as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

RELAXING ATMOSPHERE! That's the best way to describe this property! We pride ourselves in offering excellent service to our guests which can be seen in the positive reviews we have received.
