The house is a short walk to the river and ocean, the road house and general store. There's a park with playground across the road for the kids. It was a little snugger in terms of space than the photos necessarily reflect, especially given a) you have to go through the room with the 2 single beds to get to one of the double bed rooms and b) there isn't a door on the room with the 2 single beds so it's just open to the living area. If you had kids in that room it would be difficult to meaningfully use the living space to talk or watch TV after they're in bed (unless they're heavy sleepers!). It was pricey for what it in my opinion, also had to bring your own bedding/ towels etc, but a perfectly comfortable space that had the basics and a good location.

It was old, run down, smelt bad. We did not stay the night and asked for another opinion
It was shocking. Old and run down and looked way worse than the photos. Cracked windows. No fly screens on windows. It was hot and only one stand fan that was covered in rust. Back door was so hard to open. Nails poking out of the decking on the porch. Trip hazard to the front steps with high uneven flooring, it also smelt like it hadn’t been open in years.
This house was perfect for our weekend with friends. Location, view from deck and Guilderton itself was fantastic.
Two small things we can overlook because we had such a great weekend was deck needs maintenance as a few nails sticking up are a bit dangerous and some matches would have been nice as BBQ lighter doesnt work. But great house would love to stay again one day.
Overall the property was equipped with everything we needed and a fantastic location. Was quite old and could do with a simple reno to make it feel abit cleaner but didn’t affect our stay.
A great central location within easy walking distance to everything, and directly opposite the park which was the location of the wedding we were attending. The house is what you expect for a beach house and is well appointed. As far as budget accommodation goes this house was great.

Beach shack
The property overall was poor. For the price we paid I expected more. Dog hair greeted us on the large floor rug. The vacuum cleaner didn't have enough power to lift it out. The shower overflowed into the toilet. And the bathroom was very poor with a wooden old makeshift shelf over a metal trough. The house smelled musty . No money has been spent n the house for sometime. The TV wasn't tuned in and the old power board was faulty. Fortunately the group who look after the property gave us more than half are fee back in good faith as we left a day early.. The area in is self really does not have much in the way for food if you haven't stocked up before your trip. Overall won't be back.
This house is in a great spot in Guilderton, a well maintained park with playground directly opposite and also offering ocean views. It is a comfy and cozy house which we would be happy to book again.
