LOCATION: Close to the Mall of America & major highway thoroughfares makes getting around Minneapolis/St Paul and surrounding suburbs almost effortless. Close (but not too close) to MSP International Airport makes it an ideal location for International travelers and guests with close travel connections.

The Cottage is steps from THE GRAND ROUNDS, which is the nation's only urban-based National Scenic Byway. It is part of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's 6,400 acres of trails, lakes, parks, and recreation facilities. The parkways and paths are divided into seven segments and together form a nearly complete loop through Minneapolis as they connect 14 natural lakes, three creeks, two waterfalls, and the Mississippi River. Because of careful planning and strategic land acquisitions, all waterfront and rights-of-way around the lakes, creeks and river segments are in public ownership.

Walking distance to Lake Nokomis & Minnehaha Falls/Park at The Mississippi River and steps from The Grand Rounds make it easy for guests to explore what Minneapolis/St Paul is MOST known for - our LAKES! After all, this is why we are called "The Cities of LAKES" :)

INDOOR: The Cottage is designed by the Norwegian owner with clean, contemporary, functional Scandinavian influences and decor from Northern Norway. The Cottage is fresh and clean with quality bed/bedding & new spa-inspired bathroom w/bidet, washer/dryer - and is ALWAYS meticulously clean. Vaulted ceilings and sun tunnels bring in the natural light to create a bright, open & spacious feel. The Cottage hosts one bedroom w/new queen bed & high quality mattress, 6 large drawers for guest belongings, built-in bedside tables & a lot of interesting lighting, which is also functional. There are protected outlets/inlets for various electronic devices, a double mirrored closet for hanged clothing and a desk area w/2 work stations. The living area hosts a comfortable sofa, chair and large television with a lot of channels including FREE Netflix and Amazon movies. A fully-equipped kitchen hosts a kitchen island w/seating for 2, refrigerator, range, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, dishwasher, pantry - and more. The spa-inspired bathroom hosts a rainfall shower w/grab bars, elevated toilet w/bidet, heated bathroom/fan, washer/dryer and lots of storage for guest belongings. Guests may request a shower chair and/or toilet safety frame, if needed.

REMINDER: The Cottage is ONE-LEVEL living with NO STEPS, which means it is convenient for everyone - especially those with physical limitations.

THE NORDIC NOOK: The Cottage also includes "The Nordic Nook", which provides a separate detached heated/cooled space adjacent to The Cottage & gardens. Guests can enjoy yoga, artwork or crafts, watch television, work or take a nap. The Nordic Nook is perfect for guests traveling together who may want or need some time alone. There are many tributes to the Norway homeland and guests are encouraged to celebrate "hygge" - a Nordic way of living - that brings peace, contentment & happiness. It is no wonder Norway & Minnesota are consistently rated the happiest places on earth!

- TV Essentials: Two large, “smart” internet-connected televisions w/FREE Netflix & Amazon movies. One Samsung TV is in The Cottage, one in The Nordic Nook. The BOSE stereo speaker in The Cottage enhances the entertainment experience and allows guests to listen to their own music via Bluetooth.

- Paper Essentials: Toilet tissue, paper towels, coffee filters, Kleenex-style tissues.

- Soap Essentials: Quality shampoo, body soap, laundry & dish soap, dishwasher pellets, hand sanitizer, bathroom spray.

- Fun Essentials: Bicycle rental stations are within blocks of the property. Boats, canoes, kayaks and other water toys are available to rent close by at Lake Nokomis & Minnehaha Falls/Park, which are within walking distance.

- Outdoor Essentials: Outdoor lounge area with pergola, canopy and fire table. Outdoor lighting, propane-fueled grill. Organic herb, fruit & flower gardens and guests are encouraged to indulge!

- Cleaning Essentials: Guests may request cleaning for an additional fee. Short term stays 10-30 nights include weekly cleaning, which can be arranged with the owner, if desired.
