About this property

Pristine Rustic Hideaway in Hither Hills, a Hundred Steps to the Beach

The Ultimate Montauk getaway is available to lease for the first time in twenty years.

This private, two-cottage property contains a few of the last remaining original fisherman cottages at Hither Hills, built in the 1940s.

Set on a lush knoll, your own private compound is located just steps to Montauk's quiet and secluded Hither Hills Beach, at the end of the driveway. The property consists of a 2 bed/2 bath cottage, including a separate artist studio with kitchen and full bath. An outdoor shower and tub beckon a post-beach soak on the deck.

These homes have been carefully curated with thoughtful detail throughout. Each home is air-conditioned, and offer state-of-the-art amenities.

Wake up to the sound of birds and the surf each morning, sit on the private porch with some coffee and enjoy lush, mature landscaping.

Literally steps to the most pristine beach that the east end offers. With no public parking for these stretches of sand, even on the hottest Summer days, the beach is never crowded. A short ten-minute walk into town with restaurants and shopping.

Dogs under 40lbs negotiable.

Perfect Montauk Getaway
We absolutely loved our stay at the property! It is a perfect combination of rustic and modern, and the space is impeccably curated. Perfect location close to the beach, yet private and serene. Can't wait to return! Thank you!

The Best Little Cottage in Hither Hills
We recently booked this for my 50th birthday and it was absolutely amazing. Here’s why. First of all, it’s tucked away down a long driveway off of Old Montauk Highway. So, it’s quiet. We were there during very earl spring, so nothing was in full bloom but it was still absolutely dreamy. When we walked into the door, we couldn’t believe how amazing the decor was. There is just so much to look at. The level of detail is in unlike any vacation rental we have ever stayed. The linens are amazing. The tchotchkes are amazing. The fireplace is soooo cool. I wanted to take the coffee table and strap it to the roof of my jeep and take it home. Everything was just so comfortable of that about it. Nothing in the house is so precious that you feel like you can’t explore it, but the collective of everything makes this house truly precious as it can be. It’s beyond good. Also, what we liked is that it wasn’t so big that it was a massive cleanup at the end. We were done getting everything together within a half an hour and we kind of couldn’t believe it. They are just things to look at everywhere in this place and they are all SUPER interesting. It’s almost like walking into the coolest antique store you have ever seen. For us, my wife and I (both being in the design business), appreciated it all and it made us so unbelievably happy. Even the kids couldn’t stop looking at everything. It was almost hard to leave the house to walk down to the beach, because the house was that good. As a bonus, there is an additional cottage about 40 feet away from the main house that has this cute queen size tucked away bed in the corner with this sort of amazing built-in canopy over it and it has it’s own bathroom and a kitchenette. My 11 year daughter and her best friend stayed there and they thought they had died and gone to heaven. Above and beyond all of the design and the location, the owners could not have been kinder and more responsive. They have put a ton of work into this place and really shows. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need the bathrooms are beautiful. There’s a great outdoor shower and bathtub, beach chairs in the back and a couple of barbecues out front. I could not recommend this place more. We absolutely cannot wait to go back there. It was so good. We had the best time. So, in case you can’t read through the lines, this place is super highly recommended and worth every penny.

Take me back to Sea Roost
Just as it was pictured! I booked this property in the middle of the night, after seeing multiple postings on Instagram Hahaha. Perhaps not a conventional way to choose accommodations -but it worked! Owners were helpful and friendly. Though we had a car, the beach was a short walk away, as was a nice restaurant. Would love to return to this very special place!
