Private Beach Access, Panoramic Views and Spacious Rooms Set This Home Apart!
Million Dollar View - Meredith Lodging
You’ll quickly see how Million Dollar View got its name: a wall of windows in the living room gives you a panoramic look at the Pacific. But this beautifully updated home invites you to do more than look at the ocean—it gives you several ways to get outdoors to enjoy cool breezes, the sound of waves and your bare feet on the beach.
A bonus room with TV opens to a patio with table, chairs and a gas barbeque. A door from the living room takes you to a huge wooden deck for sunning behind a glass wind-screen wall. That area adjoins a vast expanse of lawn complete with Adirondack chairs for a sweeping view south to the rocks of Fogarty Creek Point and north to hazy Cascade Head, with a sparkling horizon of ocean, surf and sand in between. A concrete ramp from the property leads to a few stairs and a sandy slope right to the beach, so the kids can run seamlessly from games on the lawn to digging in the sand.
Indoors, some of your guests will love the contemporary sofas and chairs facing west for views from the living and dining rooms; others will love escaping to the two additional entertainment areas, a cove of sofas gathered around a big-screen TV and that bonus room in an adjoining room with its own TV. You can see the ocean from the charming, fully equipped kitchen, which has retained sweet period touches alongside updates that make it fresh and functional. A washer/dryer is easy to access in an adjoining room. The bedrooms include two queens, one with a TV and ocean view, and a spacious king bedroom with a half-bath with ocean views and light from both west and north facing windows. The home is on a quiet residential road, and its below-road-level placement down brick steps to a garden courtyard just increases the quiet and privacy you’ll enjoy.
Lincoln Beach location gives you quick access to Highway 101 for grocery and shopping, golf or spa time at Salishan Lodge, or a sumptuous lunch at the Side Door Cafe. With many shopping and dining choices just five minutes down the highway, you’re centrally located giving you many exciting opportunities to explore. Don’t wait—come for the million-dollar view and find out how relaxed you’ll feel after a stay in this spacious, private home!

The house was great, right on the beach with a perfect view of the ocean and sunset!
The home was very spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed using the binoculars and telescope and loved the private pathway to the beach. We had a great time!

This house is the bomb! Built in the 50s, it has adorable built-in cabinets and drawers everywhere, yet the floors are completely updated and super clean. The whole place was super clean. Number one feature, definitely The View! It's going to be hard to ever top this location in the future :-) the only things to beware of are the Steep narrow stairs to get to the front door, and the less than adequate parking with a very steep driveway. That said, I'd go back tomorrow if I could!

Reviewer Comments:
We arrived in rainy weather so a challenge to unload the car and settle in. Once in the living room with its awesome views of the ocean, we were hooked. We settled in with good books to read while watching the waves crash on shore. The beach access was a little difficult until we found an easier access, but the beach was wonderful for walking... in between the raging storms. No beautiful sunsets but a glorious rainbow and then a double rainbow! We were so happy for the rain as it helped to quell the raging fires. The house itself is well maintained, has very good kitchen and washer/dryer. The half bath off the master bedroom was a disappointment and we couldn't get the heater to work, but all in all, a great place to stay.

Thank you Rita for your feedback and review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your time here at the beach. If ever, you have any issues or questions during your stay, please give us a call and we will be more than happy to assist you with anything you need, like the heat and anything else. We hope you can come back for another great stay soon!
Great location, sorely in need of a facelift & not handicap accessible
I've rated this unit low on the scale mainly due to how outdated everything is. 3 bedroom place with 1.5 baths and, the overall decor and lighting levels left us cold. But the view from the windows was awesome and the little patch of grass with chairs was nice (although when seated you can't see the beach due to the vegetation). Was dissapointed with the hot-tub location as you feel like you're in a closed off section of the yard with minimal ocean views.
Also word of caution!!! do not pack a big suitcase. From the parking pad to the front door is 3 flights of steps you have to carry you luggage down (and of course back up when leaving). Very hard to do for someone who had recent knee surgery, in their late 60's.
So overall, sorry but I can't recommend the place.

WORST EXPERIENCE WITH VRBO
THERE WAS BIG EQUIPMENT LIKE AN EXCAVATOR AND 2 DUMP TRUCKS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THIS PROPERTY AND WE WERE NOT ADVISED AND THE OWNER DID NOT SEEM CONCERN OF THE INCONVENIENCE FOR THEIR RENTERS AFTER CONTACTING THEM. WE HAD TO LISTEN EVERYDAY TO THEM WORKING 7.30AM TO 4PM. SECOND: THE ADD SAYS STEPS TO THE BEACH. THERE WAS NO STEPS. THERE WERE BIG BOULDERS FOR STEPS . I COULD NOT CLIMB OVER THEM TO GET TO THE BEACH. NO RAILINGS TO HOLD ON TO. AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THE SIGN AT THE END OF THESE BOULDERS SAID DANGER KEEP OUT. I PAID $1000 A MONTH TO BE ABLE TO WALK RIGHT OUT TO A PRIVATE BEACH AS THE AD SAID. THERE WAS NO PRIVATE BEACH. THIRD, PEOPLE NEED TO BE TOLD THERE ARE OVER 25 STEPS IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE TO GET FROM PARKING TO THE FRONT DOOR. NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED OR A PERSON WITH ANY KNEE OR FOOT OR HEALTH ISSUES. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN POINTED OUT. MY SON SLIP ON THE STEPS WHEN THEY WERE WET. FOURTH: IF MORE THAN ONE CAR, THE PARKING IS TERRIBLE. FIFTH: THE LANDSCAPE AND GRASS WERE DEAD IN THE BACK YARD. NOT PRETTY AND GREEN AS THE PROPERTY PICTURES SHOW. NEIGHBOR HOMES HAD GREEN GRASS. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO CANT CLIMB ROCKS OR STAIRS OR ANYONE WITH PHYSICAL ISSUES. I WILL NOT USE VRBO AGAIN. I WILL USE HOTELS OR RESORTS FOR THE SAME MONEY.

Hi Kathryn. We enjoyed hosting you, but we are sorry you encountered several issues that negatively impacted your stay. Unfortunately, we don't control the construction hours, or access to the beach, but we have reached out via email regarding a credit towards a future stay for your disappointment. We do value your booking, and hope you will book with Meredith Lodging again.
Amazing property. Plenty of room for us. 2 large sectional couches and one other couch. Parking was tight for our Ford Expedition. Home has been updated. Steep stairs to get to the front door. Hot tub was amazing. Rock Path to walk down to the beach.

Hi Rachel! We are so glad you had an enjoyable and comfortable stay with us. We loved hosting you at Million Dollar View, and hope you will consider booking with Meredith Lodging again for your next coastal getaway!
Great, comfortable oceanfront home. Tons of comfy seating to take in the wall to wall views. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. Huge bonus to have dishwasher.
Beds were comfy. Only one shower but it was spacious and clean. Loved having a washer and dryer in the home.
Only downside was the parking. Really only 1 reasonable parking spot which our full size SUV barely fit into. Even a smaller vehicle would have a hard time parking in he driveway spots given the steep angle to the very short parking spots.

Hi Kristi! We are so glad you had an enjoyable and comfortable stay with us, and our home met most of your needs. Although, we are sorry that parking was a bit tight for your SUV. We loved hosting you at Million Dollar view, and hope you will consider booking with us again!
This is easily the best beach house I've stayed in. It's open, spacious, clean and comfortable. You can't beat the view or the convenience of your own beach access. We will definitely be coming back!
Wonderful place for our group of six with a very roomy great room full of ocean view windows. This place has the best and easiest beach access we've ever experienced. Just a few rock steps to the sand!
What a unique house! We loved the incredible views and the run right out the door to the beach location. It was hard to say goodbye, especially since we found out it's supposed to snow back home. Can we just move in?
It would be great if there were more towels. I did a lot of laundry trying to keep enough towels for 6 people who were in and out of the hot tub, ocean, and shower all day. Oh, and the can opener needs replacing. But that's small potatoes. We loved this clean, cozy, unique spot.
Very nice rental place. Wonderful view and easy beach access. Parking in the driveway is a bit tight/awkward but only minor inconvenience. Stairs might be a problem for someone with mobility issues.
Mostly, I'd say ditto to all the raves. It's actually nicer than I expected, with some cute remodeling decisions. And I will quite possibly come back, but I have a couple caveats:
1) There's no door on the main bedroom. It's around an angle, so there's no sight-line in, but if you're hoping to keep little kids from wandering in or other guests from hearing you and your spouse... um... snoring, good luck. Actually, I'm not sure if they should list this property as having 3 bedrooms as "having a door that can be closed" is part of the definition of a bedroom in real estate circles. (So sayeth my Google search, at least.) There's room for a door, there just isn't a door in it. Why?
2) The super-cheap toilet paper and paper towels. This wasn't a cheap rental, but little touches like this make it feel cheap. Please, charge me an extra five bucks and supply decent paper products.
An added positive: A grocery store IS just across the highway from the turn, like a 1-2 minute drive away, so it's super easy to stock up on whatever you need.
First and foremost, it does not give a warning about the parking situation. Please be very careful parking in front of the garage. As we pulled in, we scraped the bottom of my car. Second, it doesn't show the 20 steps you have to come down to get to the front door. If you have a bad back or bad knees, take your time! Once you're inside of the house, the views are worth everything! Hot tub was steamy and clean! The weather was perfect! The private beach access was a plus. We're definitely coming back to this house!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was immaculately clean and ready for our stay. With or without binoculars we enjoyed the view and close proximity to the ocean. We enjoyed seeing whales, seals, and boats. A short drive and you are in the cities of Lincoln City, Depo Bay, or Newport. A short drive to other beaches and multiple vantage points to watch the local whale population. (Cape Fowlweather and Devil's Punchbowl) We will definitely make this trip again

Million Dollar View of Construction Site
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Million Dollar view property in May. Below is our assessment:
Positives: The neighborhood is very quiet with little traffic. The house itself is spacious, well maintained and clean. The Wi-Fi, all kitchen appliances, washing machine, dryer, and bathrooms all worked perfectly. The master bedroom bed was comfortable. There is a hose on the deck so that you can wash off from the beach. The view of the ocean, while it lasted, was excellent from both the yard and the couch facing the main windows. There is a little grocery mart and coffee shop across the highway from the neighborhood which was very convenient as Lincoln city is abut 10 minutes away. The house is well positioned for sightseeing/eating in both Lincoln city and Newport.
Main Negative: On the 3rd day of our 7 day stay, construction on rebuilding the sea wall in front of the property began. This entailed a loud excavator and skid steer working directly in the “Million dollar view” for several hours in the afternoon. Then it occurred for the majority of each day after that. They took out the old sea wall, meaning we had to walk through a construction site to get to the beach. To get back to the house we would have to wave them down so that we could pass and not get run over. Then they started dropping rocks into place which shook the whole house and woke us up every day. This reconstruction also entailed a massive pile of sand directly in front of the property so even when they weren’t working, we had a disrupted view of the ocean. And on the weekend, kids would climb the sand pile and look into the house, so we also lost privacy. When I messaged Meredith lodging, they had no idea it was occurring, and no resolution was offered.
Other negatives: We were notified of someone coming to work on the hot tub but were not notified of people working the garage. The garage work took up the driveway and we had to park down the street. The driveway is really too short to park facing the garage door so instead you have to semi-parallel park sideways. The heater in the master bedroom was broken and, as it was May, we had a couple chilly nights. The beach is quite steep as it meets the ocean so it’s difficult to walk in/near the water consistently without being too close to large waves.
The home was just as advertised. Great location and easy beach access.
A couple of things to improve: the grill desperately needs new grates and a few more staples toilet paper, Kleenex and dishwasher detergent would be helpful
The stay was absolutely perfect! Wonderful home with easy beach access! Lots of Windows to enjoy the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and Sandy Beach. We could not have asked for a better place to start our life together then here at this beautiful home!

Hi Susan, Thank you so much for your review. Million Dollar View certainly lives up to it's name. With the location being directly on the beach and those endless views, it is hard to beat! We are so sorry the steps posed an issue for your stay. We want all of our guests to feel safe and are sorry your experience fell short of that. This home does have steps down leading to the front door, which allows for the home to sit beachfront. If you have any issues during your stay, we are more than happy to assist, including help with luggage into the home if need be! Our maintenance and housekeeping are open 24/7 to ensure our guests have a memorable and seamless stay. We hope you will come back and stay with us again soon!

We decided to drive from Arizona with an overnight stop in Sacramento. Both of our kids did really well on the trip. Once we arrived in Oregon it felt like we had arrived home. The scenery was gorgeous the weather was beautiful. It didn't rain until our very last day. Our rental was right on the beach the backyard opened out to the ocean and we had real beach access. Our first morning my husband and I took a walk out onto the beach and saw baby whales playing on the surf at first I thought they were sharks attacking something but then realize that they were humpbacks. It was definitely a sight we weren't expecting. The rest of the week was non-stop sightings of whales, sea otters and seals. The leaves were starting to change there was a slight breeze but nothing that didn't keep us from the beach. At night you could see some people making small bonfires and sitting around them. We didn't get a chance to do that but on our next visit is something that we will definitely try. The beach house rental had so much character we didn't cook much in the kitchen but it was nice to have a large laundry room with a large washer dryer. Since we weren't going to have one once we got home to Arizona (we were having tile installed). The rental was comfy and roomy for four people. However the masterbathroom was seriously small. Cute but small. I loved the large windows that looked out to the ocean. We couldn't get enough of just sitting on the couch and just watching.... it was so beautiful! This was one of the best vacations we have had and now will be included in our fall and spring break options. Next time we will stay longer. Portland is 2.5 hours away but seemed a much closer drive. Worth it to see the leaves changing and beautiful scenic drive. There is something to see and do all along the coast we just didn't have enough time. Next time for sure.

WE loved the house. The views are spectacular from the front windows. Our stay was for six days and we were fortunate to have nice weather everyday. The only down side to the home is the stairs going down to the home. It was hard for us to carry in everything that we had brought to make our stay more comfortable. The parking is a little challenging. All and all we had a fun time.

Our stay was wonderful and the view unbeatable! We would like to recommend that you give more detail on the parking. The "rope" fence is 2 lots down and says "no parking anytime", the fence parallel in front of the house is wrought iron, not rope. The neighbor across the street told us people have been ticketed for parking there. He was kind enough to let us park on his side in front of his property. Also, the driveway parking is suitable only for a pickup but not long enough for one. We wished the parking instructions would have been more accurate and/or detailed. Thanks
