Mahakipawa Waterfront Hideaway is a two-bedroom Marlborough holiday home designed for relaxation and adventure. Though easily accessible by road, the surrounding native bush creates a private, secluded feel. A large sunny deck offers space for dining, entertaining, and soaking up views of the tidal Mahakipawa Arm.
When the tide is in, launch kayaks or paddle boards from the garden; at low tide, explore the craggy shoreline or stroll the Link Pathway, which crosses the driveway. After a day outdoors, unwind in the cedar and stainless hot tub on a lower deck, surrounded by bush and birdlife.
Inside, modern comforts ensure a stress-free stay. The spacious bathroom features a shower over bath, and the well-equipped kitchen includes a dish drawer and Nespresso machine. Water is purified through eco-friendly UV and filters. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge (with TV) opens to the deck, and a heat pump keeps the home cosy year-round. Two bedrooms sleep six: one with a queen bed, desk, and TV, the other with two sets of bunks. The couch can serve as a single bed if needed. Wi-Fi and Chromecast-equipped TVs provide access to free-to-air and streaming apps.
For boating enthusiasts, the property has a swing mooring for vessels up to 12 metres, visible from the deck. Smaller boats can be launched from Belvue Bay, or use the commercial ramp at Havelock Marina. A council layby at the top of the drive offers temporary boat parking. Kayaks and paddleboards are available for family fun.
Historic Havelock’s cafes, bars, and Four Square are just 10 minutes away, with Queen Charlotte Tavern five minutes in the other direction. The Queen Charlotte Track at Anakiwa is 14 minutes’ drive, while Marlborough vineyards and Pelorus River are about 30 minutes away. As the property has unfenced access to the shoreline and two creeks as well as external stairs, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe.
While Vodafone coverage can generally be found, other cell phone services are unlikely to be available on the property. Wifi at the property allows access to alternative calling/messaging applications.
Guests will need to use their personal login to access the paid streaming services on the TV's. Popular streaming apps, including free-to-view such as TVNZ and Three, have been downloaded, or there is the option to stream from your own device.

Terrific stay. As the accurate listing shows, the view, deck, spa, and water access are such a treat. And the kayaks and paddle board are a great addition. The inside is also lovely, and has virtually everything you’d want. I’ve never stayed at a vacation home that was this well kitted out. Stay here if you get the chance!
We had a great time at this bach as a family of 5. The bach had everything we needed and having use of the kayaks was fabulous. The spot is great being in the sounds but also being so close to Havelock.

Lovely property, well appointed, quiet even though near the road, and great to have ready access to the waterfront. Beds were comfy and kitchen well stocked. Lovely deck not that we used it much
Didn't use the kayaks etc and regretted we'd not made more effort to. A magic spot, and Annie was great, thanks

Wonderful location, very comfortable
Wonderful location, very comfortable. Entry to house needs to be improved, slightly dangerous if you have any mobility problems. Some trimming of the trees would improve the view. Otherwise we loved the batch and our time there.

Lovely spot, handy to Havelock recommend Mussel Pot Restaurant, Captains Daughter a bit average, Canvastown has a great swimming hole at Pear Tree Flat, Omaka Aviation Centre worth a look, very interesting, on a wet day, Maybe a bit of tree trimming so we could see the sea better, great deck and bean bags comfy. easy to clean . We spent 10 mins clearing a path to the beach, easy to do this, great flat rock for a cuppa and wines, kayak at higher tides as we got caught on the mud flats - ugh!

Easy access to both Havelock and Picton and Blenheim.
Easy access to both Havelock and Picton and Blenheim. We loved how quiet it was off the main road and down the hill with our own little beach. Great to have the Kayaks and life vests there for our use. The house was very tidy, clean and had everything we needed. We appreciated being able to share in the owners little piece of paradise.
