8 mins drive from Picton clean tidy cosy bach close to boat ramp , lookout etc has own mooring to tie up to a 7mtr boat etc straight out front of bach own private beach etc just so relaxing an awesome can view the seals , fish an bird life from top deck etc seafood mussels n Kina , paua ,crayfish at door step straight of lower porch very scenic an watch the cruise ships n ferries cruise bye amazing sunsets also

Charming cottage

Beautiful sunny cottage right on the water. Adequate amenities and loads of charm. Great place to unwind and just minutes from Picton. Loved our stay.

We had the best time at this place. Basic but amazing location for kids that are keen on the outdoors and sea life!. Plenty of room for everyone. Thanks so much for the use of the house. Will definitely be back!!

Location location location

An idyllic spot in a classic kiwi batch. This is the perfect place for a relaxing break from the usual. Plenty of utensils to cook with, so you don’t even have to leave!

Amazing views

The property has amazing views, is so calm and relaxing. You can watch ferries and boats coming in and out. Easy to find and check in. I’ll defiantly recommend to friends and Family

Amazing Spot

Such a piece of paradise, the batch is exactly that, an old school Kiwi Batch. Access could be difficult for some, however so worth the effort. Great spot to swim, have a paddle on the Kayak's. Or just to watch the wildlife, stingrays, the odd seal and plenty of fish.

Superb location for those that are ok with access as it is a little walk down a path. But so close to nature. We had seals coming to say hello in the evening.

Hidden Gem

Definitely a fantastic spot! Awesome views even got to see the dolphins, sting rays and seals. The kids had fun hunting in the rocks at low tide for crabs and star fish. Fishing for the kids was great to. Overall the house is in an amazing spot with its own character. Thank you

Authentic kiwi waterfront batch

Loved staying inthis 1970s batch right on the water with seals and dolphins swimming past. Just take the stairs slowly and carefully and it willbe worth it. Great view of ferries and other watercraft. Not a mod cons but rather retro place full of love.

Picton bach review

This property has a fabulous view. There are many downsides to the property: older carpet/furniture throughout; very creaky floors - if staying in the lower level, it could keep you awake; very steep/uneven/narrow concrete steps from the road down to the property-at least 90 steps including ramp areas; very tight parking on a busy road-if your vehicle is wide, it is dangerous; we experienced hours of noise, at night, in the ceiling from critters pushing food items around.

Great location, difficult access, tired Bach

We were a little alarmed at the access to this Bach as we were not familiar with the address and area and did not know it was so far down from the road. It was difficult to park and unload the vehicle. The steep access was a challenge and the stairs and sloped walkways were quite slippery for the older family members. I would suggest that this Bach is more suited to a younger family, and definitely not for anyone with restricted movement. It was difficult to arrange private sleeping areas for everyone as there aren’t separate bedrooms but rather demarcated areas that need to be walked through. The views are incredible and absolutely breathtaking - we enjoyed many hours sitting on the covered patio but the rain did pour in as the drop down blinds were not functioning.

Great location but MANY problems

The location is excellent BUT there are many problems. 1) Access -There are approximately 60 tilted, mossy steps to get down to the unit from the road. We could not bring our suitcases down the ramp at all. It was necessary to pull out stuff from our luggage in the car. Also, there are only solar lights on the stairs which do not function in the morning. We had to use cell phone flashlights in the rain. 2) Directions- Google Maps and the map on the VRBO app are both wrong and it took a while to find the property. The picture of the gate to the entrance is one of the photos of the property but it was not obvious. 3) Parking Our Toyota Corolla just barely fit without sticking out into the road. 4) Access to Property Manager -The phone for the property manager has voicemail that says he is out of the country. It gave an alternate number. Dialing that number got an “invalid number” response. He did respond promptly when we sent him a message through the VRBO app. He did not respond to Messenger. We needed help with the key lockbox, and almost went elsewhere, until we finally figured it out ourselves. A property manager needs to be reachable in case of issues. 5) Capacity. Listed as 12 people. Two beds are OUTSIDE on a porch where the plastic rain cover could not be unrolled, and it was raining. If the listing were more accurate, the chances of unpleasant surprises would be greatly reduced. Most of these are fixable problems.

Glorious views and right on the water

The wow factor when you walk in.The steep steps a bit challenging for oldies, and parking was precarious.on the last morning we had no hot water until 10am as we were leaving it trickled back on.!!! we loved it .
