My friends and I had such a great time at Michael's property! Beautiful location, great amenities inside and out, we had a lot of fun on the river, bbq'd, cooked and hung out in the hot tub. My friends and I want to stay again next year!
Our family enjoyed the nice relaxing atmosphere. The home was beautiful and there were many "toys" available to use. It was great that we did not need to bring our bikes. We had a great time exploring the item and the near by town.
We loved this property! So clean, organized, and thoughtfully appointed, and the views are spectacular. This home is as described and then some. We would absolutely rent again.
Impressive home. The house is outstanding, full of details to make you feel not only at home, but in a luxury hotel.
The view is incredible, quiet, isolated to enjoy nature.
The outdoor is comfortable and again thoughtful on every single detail.
Very thankful to have found this place.
Wonderful property with fantastic views, a kitchen better than what one has at home, and so many amenities. 15 bikes, 2 paddle boards, single and double kayaks, 3 outdoor seating areas and a firepit. The spotting scope was a great way to view the skittish water fowl and eagles.
The family of 24 to 89 year olds all loved the week away from their Portland home.

Thank you for taking such great care of our home! We truly hope you enjoyed your stay with your family. Please keep us in mind for the future as we continue to develop our property. Happy Holidays!
Weather kept us out of the river, but not out of the hot tub or the sauna. Loved the quiet beautiful location. Never saw so many eagles or hummingbirds. House well equipped and comfortable. Ferry to Oregon was a treat. Everything owner told us about the area helped us get around. A special holiday that will have many good memories.
The Columbia River, the sunrise over the tree covered mountain, the early morning fog all set the tone for a great family vacation. Crossing on the ferry to explore Oregon was unforgettable and driving over the bridge to Cathlamet was awesome. The house was equipped with everything and so comfortable, exactly what I was promised. Plenty of room for the 7 of us to be together, and to also “have our space.” Would love to return.
Plan to stay again! Might make it a yearly getaway :)
A group of 8 girls gathered together to celebrate a friend's bachelorette. We LOVED this home. I feel like each of us said that multiple times. The house was so clean and a perfect size for 6-8 guests. It had everything you could imagine needing. We cooked every meal as a group and the kitchen was stocked with cookware, spices, glassware, and even some condiments. the outdoor space was so so beautiful, and we loved watching the fog over the puget sound in the mornings. The beds were comfy, and the couch bed was one of the nicest I've stayed on. The hot tub was wonderful and so was the sauna. We loved using the kayaks and SUPs. We would love to visit again, and plan to make it a yearly girls trip. The hosts were communicative and, yeah, just a great experience overall!
This property owned by hosts, Jennifer and Michael, is an outstanding accommodation. Over the years, I have stayed in dozens of vacation properties all over the country, and this one tops them all, especially for someone seeking peace and quiet, nature on full display, and a pristine clean, comfortable home. Never have I found a vacation rental as well equipped as this one. The kitchen in particular. Everything is new. Everything works.
The lovely, shaded gazebo area is essentially an outdoor living room with comfortable seating and a neat little pellet stove that burns with a warming light in the cool of night. Hot-tub? Of course. Clean? Absolutely. And, what about a firepit? Yup, with a number of Adirondack chairs and plenty of firewood supplied. How 'bout a floating dock? Sure thing -- but why would You need a dock? So a kid can try out his new rod and reel, and you can launch a stand up paddle board, or a kayak, or a canoe, all provided for you and stored in the nearby "toy chest" where a number of such toys reside. Oh, and maybe you would like to take a bike ride to explore the bucolic beauty of the island on flat, traffic-free roads. Just open the toy chest and choose from a variety of new to mostly new bikes. There are a lot of them, all in great shape. I'd encourage you to do a leisurely loop of the land before you.
And finally, location. Puget Island sits in the middle of the Columbia River. There are farms, a few houses and nice people. Island time rules.
My wife and I met an old coworker of ours and his wife. The house was in immaculate condition, from cleanliness to the fresh picked beautifully fragrant flower arrangements. Quality of bikes and kayaks was very appreciated. Thanks for a great stay and visit. Ken
Perfect. Come see for yourself. What can be more relaxing than sitting outside (or inside) and watching the river go by with ospreys hovering over the river, seeing bald eagles, pelicans and countless other birds. Drive across the bridge, eat and have great coffee drinks and breakfast at Patty Cakes. Be sure to say hello to Patty. Then walk around town, Like Patty, everyone is friendly and pleasant from the sheriff introducing us to his new dog to anyone walking down the street that says hello and ready to chat and tell you about the town. Then repeat. If you need yo get away from the city you’ll have no regrets here.
Five stars +
We have stayed at a lot of houses in both Oregon and Washington. This is by far the best we have stayed at.
The house is beautiful, the garden a delight and the places on the water so peaceful.
This house has everything you need at more to just enjoy! We will for sure be coming back.
Cheers!
The house is located on a slough with The Columbia River in the short distance. The house had everything anyone could need for cooking, lounging and enjoying the out of doors. The property and everything on it is well maintained and cared for.
We’ve been to so many vacation rentals, but this one we enjoyed the most! We didn’t even want to leave the house/property! We were just hanging out, enjoying the view from the living or the dock, went kayaking and swimming and had barbecue while watching the ospreys and bold eagles catching there dinner. Nobody wanted to leave! Property was clean, beautiful decorated and had everything you need! We can’t wait to be back!
This is a wonderful spot to get away from the rush of life and enjoy a gorgeous setting. The house is perfectly situated on the river with vast views and easy access to a slow moving slough for paddling. Family bike rides around the island we’re another highlight. Pretty sure there are more animals than cars on this island. Farm fresh eggs from a little farm on Sunny Sands with a sign out front, meat from little barn farms and cheese from little island farms were all a treat! The house is absolutely gorgeous and the hosts were terrific!
Beautiful views, lovely interior design, enjoyable landscaping, excellently equipped kitchen, wildlife watching galore, great wifi, and we can tell it will be even better when we come back next year!
My children and I spent 5 glorious days here in mid-August. As soon as we walked in, we all loved it. It had everything we needed, from a vitamix to a guitar, from beach towels to Epsom salts, from wood for the fire pit to quiet comfy bedrooms, from yoga mats to a dock to jump off into the water.
Our favorite things: Paddleboarding (we brought our own) out to the "Sara Shipwreck" at high tide, getting within 5 feet of a yearling deer eating the blueberry bushes, diving for clam shells off the dock, making s'mores in the fire pit, watching the stars come out at night from the dock or the huge patio lounge chairs... and I enjoyed coffee every morning before the kids woke up in the living room, watching the wildlife forage for food during low tide.
We also loved how the ferry to Westport, Ore. is less than a 5 minute drive from the house! From Westport, the drive to Astoria is less than 30 minutes!
Maybe I shouldn't be leaving such a good review because now EVERYONE will want to book this place, and we won't be able to get a spot next summer! Oh well, these people have put the hard work into this property, and it shows!
We can't wait to come back!

Why they chose this property
We love Island life! While spending many years traveling and working in the Caribbean we had always dreamt about having waterfront property. We are also building a 45ft Bluewater Catamaran, hence the need for waterfront property and a dock. This property was everything we needed and more. We have created such a warm an inviting island feel by planting tropical and edible plants throughout the property.
What makes this property unique
Come stay with us and get to know both our property and us as hosts, our goal is to have repeat clients from Seattle and Portland areas during our peak season when school is out and the weather is wonderful May-Oct. We will provide custom discounts to families or individuals that are interested.
