Overlooking downtown Banner Elk & in between Sugar & Beech ski slopes. Cabin furnishings with new kitchen and bathroom. Great location, 5 minute walk to downtown with its many shops and great restaurants. Private backporch is up in the trees. It's approx 10 minutes to ski at Sugar and Beech Mountain. Five minute walk to Lees-McRae College. Dogs & cats allowed, maximum limit of 2, under 40lbs. Must be clean, nails trimmed, no fleas, well behaved & not bark excessively. $25.00 per pet per day fee.

The property was actually even more appealing in person than it showed in pictures! There were so many cozy decorative touches. We were in Banner Elk to visit Lees McRae and it was fun to be able to look down at the college and hear the 'bells' ring. The grounds were also lovely. We were a convenient distance to the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster as well as Grandfather Mountain. The host was amazingly responsive - even responding right away when we arrived at midnight and my GPS was trying to take me off the end of the road. My daughter loved Lees McRae so we may be repeat guests!

Unfortunately there was a leak in the dishwasher when we got there, which was unable to be repaired. The previous guests dirty dishes were still in the unit, which was most of the dishes and silverware. Thankfully, we ate out most of the time, but if we were cooking, it would have been inconvenient. Otherwise, the place is wonderful. Great view, very cozy. A car that can handle steep curving driveways is advisable in the winter for sure. Also, bring body soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc., as there is none provided. There was laundry soap though, which is appreciated.
