CRAWFORDS (GREAT LOCATION WITH BOATSHED BAY LAUNCHING RAMP ACROSS THE ROAD)

Situated in a primo location at this favoured lake "Crawfords" offers everything for that one or 2 family holiday! Boatshed Bay is directly over the road with its 2 launching ramps plus parking for vehicles with boat trailers.
Rangiuru Bay with the best swimming beach is barely a stones throw away, this bay is a great place for families and swimming, with jetties to dive off plus a shallow beach ideal for small children. There is a tennis court which can be used with appropriate footwear as long as no one has booked a game or is currently playing. There is "The Landing Cafe" at the Tarawera Landing to the right and down the hill at the beginning of Spencer Road. There is a water taxi to take people across to Hot Water Beach for a trip or for the day, and it collects people from the Landing or the boat ramp jetty over the road and in front of “Crawfords.” The water taxi to those fantastic Tarawera walks departs and returns to Boatshed Bay and includes Hot Water Beach, Humphries Bay, the Outlet or Lake Okataina, and also a ride back from Hot Water Beach for those who have walked the Tarawera Trail.

All of this then you have a home that is geared for people! There are plenty of beds to sleep at least twelve, good car parking and comfort all round to make for a memorable stay!

The Crawfords Lakehouse is perfectly situated right opposite the boat ramp and a short walk to a beautiful swimming spot. We loved our daily swims and relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake!

Loved our stay here, and grateful it was pet friendly. Right across the lake to launch the boat or jump off the wharf and a short walk to the tennis court and playground. Was a little more expensive than initially seemed due to extra charges.

Plenty of room & great location

Like a step back in time for the décor ! This place has plenty of space and everything you need. Big pluses include a great view out over the Boatshed Bay area, plenty of flat parking and a nice wide entrance to the front door. Given the aged interior, it is all clean & modernised where necessary especially mixer taps in shower & kitchen. Worth a stay.

Spectacular views to boat ramp, spacious grand ole retro home, well set up big bedrooms, lots of windows for good air flow, quality bedding, and lots of games n books and many dvds n videos lol for rainy days, A great stay to play lakeside and make memories, Highly recommended, Pretty sure we will be back

Fabulous location!

We recently stayed "Crawfords on Tarawera". What a location! Right across the road from a boat ramp which sits beside a small point with a lovely 10-15 minute bush walk. A great location to launch our paddle boards too. The house is substantial, a little tired but adequate for our family of 5 adults + 1 small dog. Would highly recommend a holiday here - great deck and amazing view.

Great location, huge house (but could benefit from another toilet) Fitted our 9 family members easily and had everything as per listing. Aside from another bathroom, a fenced area for pets and little children would be handy as it is next to a very busy road with no gate. Overall, a place we would rent again

Another great stay at Tarawera with lots of boats and fun! Properly is dated but always tidy and clean. Couldn’t get a better location for accessing boat shed bay boat ramps. Only complaint would be the need for a second toilet (especially with large groups) and more air conditioning as bedrooms get very hot! Thanks, Chris

Nice and cosy on a wet and cold weekend!

Good location and clean. Room configuration a bit tricky with more than one couple in the group. Hot water was not turned on when we arrived. Poor cell signal prevented us getting it sorted until the second evening. Strongly suggest this is either checked before a group arrives or instructions are made available - perhaps next to the water usage notes.
