Duval is great for a couples get away, located in Virginia Beach and only a 5-minute walk from the boardwalk and sand. This home (800 sq. ft.) offers one bedroom, one full bath and sleeps 4 comfortably. Bedroom has one king bed, large walk in closet, TV and vaulted ceilings. Living Room has one queen sleeper sofa, large flat screen TV and tropical inspired décor. Fully outfitted kitchen that has stainless appliances, granite counters, tiled backsplash and bar stools. Other bonuses include free wireless internet, private garden and covered outdoor patio, tile and hardwood flooring.

Located on 34th Street in the Virginia Beach Oceanfront District we are a three-minute walk to the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, entertainment and much more.

The mindset and goal in developing this community was to offer a comfortable tropical beach themed setting with attention to detail and providing the ultimate in upscale vacation rentals. With 17 homes available, each one has been completely renovated to make your stay welcoming and enjoyable. We provide linens and towels for your visit.

Wonderful Stay in VA

The exterior pictures for this cottage were a little older so the outside appearance was a bit different and had more plant life around, but the inside was wonderful! Kitchen and Living room were nice and simple with a queen sized sofa bed and side door leading to a path to an outdoor pool/grilling area; but where this cottage really shines was the bedroom! Huge room with a king size bed, beautiful bathroom attached and a nice sized walk in closet with built in racks and shelves. Would definitely stay again and really enjoyed our days here.

Misleading Property Description

This property is an add on to a main house. You can hear everything happening in the main household from the bedroom. If you’re lucky, it won’t have parties next door. We were not. The bedroom has a “vaulted ceiling” which is just the exposed boards of the roof. There’s no insulation to keep the AC in and the heat out. Speaking of AC, it’s not on a central system, just a mounted AC unit in the bedroom and one in the living room. The bedroom could not keep up with the heat of the day and was getting to 84 F before noon. We attempted using the pull out couch in the living room, but there were no extra linens to put on it and it was absolutely filthy. The water pressure in the unit was inconsistent to the point where we were unable to wash dishes in the middle of the day. There was no way to shower when it was out either. It was not fun being coated in beach without a way to get clean. Overall, the location was fantastic in regards to the beach and the pool was nice and clean. The umbrellas at the pool were broken, so that was a bummer trying to keep our toddler out of the sun. The general area of the rooms were clean, just not as clean as I would expect a rental. We got a hotel room one of the nights to escape the heat and then ended up leaving that day (a day early) because the heat was unsafe. Parking was easy so long as you have one car. There was lots of space to unpack clothes and put luggage away to keep the space uncluttered

Little Yellow Bungalow in the WINTER

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cute, set off the main strip! Just a few things that occurred during the stay: The place needs a bit of tender loving care around the edges. The screen door was tore up and needs to be replaced, the bottom had albumin sticking out that could cut you, the property manager came and taped the bottom of the door to hold the piece sticking out, door not replaced. I did speak to the owners and told them about the door. The Ceiling in the Kitchen had water damage that caused the ceiling to fall into the floor due to a roof leak. I stayed during the construction at my choice, but thought the company would offer some type of a discount due to the dry wall dust all over my bedding and clothes, plus the inconvenience of having contractors in and out while trying to sleep (work night shift). No offer was made! No Gift Certificates, No offer for dinner, nothing:(((I will say the price was somewhat reasonable for a one bedroom in the off season only.John the agent, was great to work with and very nice. The company may need to consider being a little more customer conscious about the inconveniences and reward them in some capacity. Overall, I have recommended the bungalow to several people already, would stay there again if back in the area.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I confirmed before booking that the pool would be open during our stay. We bought floats and we’re excited for our stay. The pool being the biggest part of the trip for me as we’d stayed here once before and I loved just laying at the pool in a float reading. And also planned pool games to do with my kids. I immediately called management about the issue. And continued to call them everyday of our stay and sent multiple emails and no one ever even contacted me, apologized, or tried to make it right in anyway. While our room was lovely, there was water damage on the ceiling and what appeared to be poop smeared on the wall in the bathroom. After emails about this they did send someone to clean it up but still refused to actually speak to me about the pool. After our trip, I continued to try to contact company about the issues of our stay with no returned calls or emails. And our refundable damage deposit was never returned even though we left everything in order. I had to contact my credit card company to go after their bank for my deposit back. This was such a disappointing trip especially since our first visit was lovely and I planned for this to be our regular spot to stay.

Reviewer Comments: The location is great, the community areas are also excellent including the pool and patio. However, upon checkin the house had clearly just been bug bombed and because all of the windows are painted shut, it stunk for the entire weekend. There were also dead bugs all over the floors so we didn't feel comfortable using any of the appliances/dishes so I can't speak for what was working. The house could also use some upgrades- trashcan in the kitchen, hooks in the bathroom (literally nowhere in the bathroom to hang a towel), missing lightbulbs etc.

Don’t stay here! The A/C unit in the bedroom wasn’t working. It’s July and mid-90s, feels like 100. We had to sleep on couch in living room. Property management responded and sent maintenance, but they couldn’t fix it so we went 3 nights without A/C. Water pressure was terrible and there were no supplies (soap, shampoo, blow dryer, coffee) in the house. Property management stopped responding. When you arrive there are no instructions for the TVs, A/C units, etc. but there is a list of rules and fees. The house was very noisy with neighbors partying. Sent photos and emails to property management to discuss partial refund and no response - go figure. Absolutely would not recommend and would never stay here again.

Walls were thin so we could hear other vacationers in connecting house, thank goodness they were not up to early. All in all we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Reviewer Comments: Pros: We had a wonderful experience staying here. 2 blocks from an excellent brewery, 2 blocks from excellent meal options, and 3 blocks from the beach. Close enough for convenience and far enough away from the crowds.Cons: The bedroom wall is shared with the house next door and the walls are thin. So, we got to hear our neighbors. Additionally, there weren't any nobs or handles on any of the kitchen cabinets/drawers, so that was annoying.Great time.

The floor had sand and dirt all over it as if it were outside. The cabinets and drawers in the kitchen did not have handles to open them. There was also no table to eat on. The location was great to get to the beach. And, when we stripped the bed on the last day before we left, it was filthy with stains, sand, and grime. We will not be using Vrbo again, nor YPB Rentals.

Great Location - Has Potential

Stayed for 4 days with my 3 kids. There was no check-in process. I was emailed the door code. I did contact the PM through email and their FB page but got no response at all. Had me a little worried. Would have been nice to at least get a reply. Location was great. On a side street. It was quiet with little or no traffic. 2 blocks to the beach. It is in the landing approach for the Naval Air station but they generally stopped around 10pm. Property description should have said "Pardon Our Dust" or "Under Construction". I see the vision of this group of rental properties but they are still renovating. Would have been nice to know but would have not made a difference if we stayed there or not. Inside the property was nicely upgraded. However, the side door had no door handle. Front storm door did not close. Bathroom door did not close. Little things but worth mentioning. This property is small but suited our stay perfectly. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room were all nicely remodeled. Covered side porch was great for wet beach stuff and parking bikes. Overall, it was very nice and we would look to stay there again. Hopefully the rates dont increase too much once Hemingway Village is complete.
