About the host
Hosted by Rosemary
I live in London but grew up in Bristol and always loved our family holidays in the West Country. I can feel the stress melting away as we travel west towards Cornwall. I teach and my husband is an architect working in both London and Cornwall. We love to share the home we have created in this fabulous tranquil and stunning corner of Cornwall.
Why they chose this property
Having camped and rented cottages in the area with our 4 children many times, we were looking for a cottage and were immediately smitten by this old Cornish cottage and it's convenient rural location so close to the coves and coast, towns and villages we love and never tire of visiting again and again. This area of South East Cornwall is so accessible and so unspoilt. It is our home from home - our dream come true which we are happy to be able to share!
What makes this property unique
The peaceful location is punctuated by the sound of sheep baaing, birdsong and geese as they fly over from a nearby lake, owls calling by night and sightings of deer and other wildlife. The ford which crosses the road at the end of the lane and provides us with the soothing watery sounds. Being able to enjoy a bbq or glass of wine in the sun until late in the evening at the top of the garden and the beauty of the sunset to follow when most places have lost the sun hours before is wonderful. Coming into this welcoming cottage on wet or cold days, lighting a fire, in the spacious dining room while cooking in the adjoining kitchen, eating together and following up with a film or games night with family and friends - always a pleasure.
