Host was excellent in communicating. Everything you need at the cottage, close to golf, hiking,,, sure wish we would have brought our bikes! Weather was rainy, but even a rain day was wonderful
I had a wonderful stay at this secluded lakeside cabin. It looked just like the pictures and provided the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend. The view was amazing, and I had an incredible time. Highly recommended!
Great location and very nice cottage. Lots of space and has everything you need. Amazing sunsets and the fire pit was wonderful. Great spot to watch the stars at night. Was warm inside with no AC but the fans helped. Bring water shoes for the water as there are rocks in the lake. Recommend to those looking for time away to relax and spend time with family and friends.
A nice vacation home that has a private beach of Lake Huron
The vacation is nice and has all essentials needed. It has a private beach and a nice view of the lake. It’s close to a small town where you can find groceries etc. very conveniently. Overall a nice stay.
Our stay was lovely. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway and it was. The property is spacious and well kept. The cottage was clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. Beautiful sunsets! Our host Peter was very responsive to any questions we had. We would love to return.
This place is a hidden jewel. Nestled between other cottages, on a treed lot with an amazing view and unrestricted access to the water. Comfy and cozy with a fully stocked kitchen,washer/dryer, comfortable surroundings. Lots of wildlife and even morning visits at the waters edge from a beautiful bald eagle. If you are looking for a beautiful place, from a fantastic host, right on lake huron, this is your place. We look forward to coming back very soon!
We spent a couple of days at this lovely cottage on the lake. Everything was good; it's a nice, quiet, relaxing natural area with lots of wildlife. Great for sitting out by the lake, but not the best for swimming as there are stones leading to the water. But there's a good beach within a short walking distance. The host was good to respond to questions. The only thing we would suggest to improve our stay would be a basic information sheet about the place, ie. keys/television access/fireplace use, etc. and a map of the immediate area. A great retreat if you're looking for a break. We would love to return for a longer stay.
We had a nice time staying at Pete’s place in August 2021. The cottage had everything we needed, and was brighter and roomier than in the pictures.
The bedrooms aren’t huge, but they were fine. The queen bed was pretty squeaky, but if we weren’t sharing the room with a light-sleeper toddler this would have been less of an issue.
The beach was nice but the water in front of the cottage was too yucky to put our feet in. The beach down the road was much nicer and we had a lot of fun playing in the waves. Our kids loved making a fire in the fire pit most nights.
Was a nice private lot, quiet area, great for bike rides, and direct access to our own beach area, which was very nice! The lake in this area is hard to get into with many large stones and rocks. Water shoes are a must. House was a bit more rough around the edges than I had the impression of it being. Some windows didn’t quite close properly. No shelving or dressers in the bedrooms, so had to live out of our bags on the floors. Thought a simple upgrade could be some small shelves or dressers in bedrooms.
Overall a nice spot, we had the impression it was a bit classier than it was.
We had a great time at the cottage and Peter was very responsive when we needed something. Fully equipped, very functional kitchen and a nice large living room. We also enjoyed lots of meals on the back deck and amazing sunsets! We ended up swimming at Lorne Beach just down the road (about a 5 min walk) because the water was a little clearer but still super convenient and close to the cottage. All in all a great stay!
Very peaceful and private location surrounded by the sounds of birds, gentle waves, and beautiful lake views, especially the sunset. The cottage is very comfortable and well laid-out though there is limited closet/drawer space for clothes. Pete the host was excellent- very responsive to any concerns/issues we had.
Make sure you bring your own spices and condiments if you plan to cook. Also note current TV is not cable/satellite or IP connected but has HDMI so bring a laptop/apple TV if you want to access streaming services (after the amazing sunset!)
Everything was like advertised, the kitchen was well equipped, a large living room, patio and a place to make a fire on the beach. A nice swimmable beach is literally 1 minute away (it was too cold for us but we had lovely walks along the shore). This is a quiet spot, away from activity but with two provincial parks close by.
Our three nights were perfect except for getting no sunset; but we did get an impressive rainstorm one of those days. The property is beautiful, well-treed and landscaped; and the cottage is well built, spacious, and very comfortable. I loved the many wonderfully designed windows. And I, especially, enjoyed sitting and sipping on the personal beach.
Cottage has everything you need, and lots of space both inside and outside. Peter was very responsive. Lake view from cottage is wonderful - sunsets are amazing. Due to changing water conditions - the first 10ft of water is quite murky - we entered further in by walking along the rocks. The water is shallow for quite a while - which meant that even late may/early June - the water temperature was warmer than the other areas of the lake (which made getting out on paddleboard much easier :)).
Amazing place with incredible views, as advertised. If swimming is important to you, this might not be the spot for you, as the beach isn't exactly swimmable. But the property is stunning, and the home is really wonderful.
