Air-Conditioned Cottage With Pool in Vence.

This beautiful cottage, situated within the grounds of a villa overlooking its garden and pool is 5 minutes walk to the town of Vence and 10 minutes walk to the historic old city with its cafes, restaurants, markets and culture.

It is 25 minutes drive from Nice airport and ideally situated for easy access to the whole cote d'azur from Monaco to St Tropez and back to mountains and ski resorts and within easy reach of beaches, golf, walking paths etc.

It is detached, self-contained and air-conditioned and has a downstairs living area, with sky TV and DVD, a well equipped kitchen including washing machine, oven, microwave etc., and a shower room with toilet, all newly decorated and finished to a high standard.Upstairs is a spacious mezzanine bedroom with a double bed.

Towels, beach towels, bed linen are all included, also most other things you might need eg tennis racquets, golf clubs, beach gear etc - just ask.

The cottage has private parking right outside the door. It is south facing, with French doors opening onto a mature garden with olive trees, traditional and gas barbeques, and pergola dining area. The pool is salt water and measures 8 metres by 4 metres, and is shared only occasionally by the owners.

In winter it is well heated and a good centre for skiing (the nearest resort 40 mins), hiking, Nice Carnival etc., and 5 mins walk to the regular bus services to Nice, which cost just 1.50 Euro.

Strictly no smoking inside, and unfortunately we cannot accept children or pets.

This is an absolutely charming unit, extremely well appointed, quaint, with fine personal touches by the proprietors. It is pretty enough that we took photos of the décor. Be careful up the stairs to the loft bedroom, which is also very well and nicely fitted out—and with an outstandingly comfortable bed. Even in early March, our views of their garden and budding flowers through the French doors were refreshingly beautiful. A dedicated garage is very convenient, the terrace and views are wonderful, and yet it is just 8 minutes walk from the supermarket. The pool looks wonderfully inviting (though during our early season visit, it was too cold for a swim). Fifteen minutes’ walk gets you into town, and perhaps 20 minutes (or an 8 minute car ride) gets you to the fabulous Matisse Chapel.  Vence old town is extremely nice – a great combo of “living” old town that mixes local residents with visitors, including two major café squares. Vence is a great place—much less overstuffed and expensive than Nice as a base to explore the whole area. Richard is a generous and considerate host. Most enthusiastically recommended!

We highly recommend this lovely place

We had the most relaxing holiday in this delightful cottage. It has everything you need and is clean and comfortable. The art work is very interesting and there were flowers inside and in the beautiful garden. Richard, the host, will help with anything. We loved the pool and swam every day and our car enjoyed it’s own private garage! There is a shop very near for anything you need and many restaurants within walking distance. We highly recommend this lovely place.

Thank you to Anne and Richard for a very relaxing stay in the town of Vence. The chalet was equipped with everything you could wish for. The aircon in the bedroom was a real bonus and made the hot summer nights comfortable for sleeping. A short walk into town for shops and restaurants makes the car redundant. Comfortable gîte in scenic town

Richard's gîte is a very comfortable, functional space in the scenic and interesting town of Vence. I was happy to be away from the noise and busy-ness of the coast, and appreciated the close proximity to shops and the town centre. Also appreciated the secure car parking, laundry facilities, and quiest neighbourhood. A great location from which to base cycling excursions. Our Impression of Vence

Situated in walking distance of medieval Vence and easy driving distance to see the mountain villages inhabited in the past by Picasso, Matisse, Chagall and others. Our favourite Mediterranean visit was to Menton one hours drive from the property. The pool and garden a luxury. Mosquitos a pest in Sept/Oct. THE PERFECT HOLIDAY

We stayed about three weeks at Anne‘s and Richard‘s place and when the vacation was over we nearly refused to leave. The place is gorgeous and quiet and the neighborhood is calm. Anne and Richard were very nice, friendly and helpful but also discreet. They made us feel at home and gave us more space we would ever have expected. The location is ideal. Like a peaceful and quiet resort right next to the huge playground which the Côte d‘Azur of course is. The rental property is lovingly furnished and at the same time functional and very well maintained and clean. Vence city center is within easy walking distance, a well stocked supermarket is right around the next corner. Long story short: we highly recommend this location! Dear Anne and Richard, thanks again for having us. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest!!!
