Evergreen Cottage is a natural stone building completed in early 2013 and adjoins the owners main property. The cottage offers high quality fixtures and fittings throughout which gives it a real 'home from home' feeling. The cottage benefits from underfloor heating which is complimented by a real log burning fire, perfect for those cosy nights having explored all that Somerset has to offer. Upstairs the large bedroom has an ensuite bathroom whilst downstairs the open plan living provides cosy sofas and armchairs to make the most of the open fire. The living area is separated from the kitchen by a breakfast bar, a great area to sit, enjoying a glass of wine as the sun goes down and the evening meal is prepared. An ideal location from which to explore Somerset the cottage is a 5 minute walk from the Bath & West Showground. The historic city of Wells and Bruton are short drive. The surrounding area offers great walking and cycling.

The cottage is well located for Bath, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet. It is extremely quiet and surrounded by lovely countryside. Suitably equipped for a short break or longer stay.
A well presented, and spacious place to stay for two. Well equipped and easy access, with clear instructions and a warm welcome - including the effective underfloor heating! A car is needed, but a good base for the local area.
We had a great time staying at the cottage for New Years- perfect size and amenities for two people, well located for walks and Rob was on hand instantly when needed. We recommend it strongly!
Great one bedroom cottage that felt very spacious because of high ceilings downstairs in the open plan kitchen/living room. It had everything we needed for our stay. Hosts Ben and Naomi very helpful. Great location for exploring Somerset (Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury, Fleet Air Arm Museum, Cheddar Gorge, Wookie Hole all within 30 minute drive or so).

Cosy and well furbished cottage in a beautiful location
Cottage is cosy and has everything you need, thought has gone in to making sure you are comfortable in your stay. The owners have even taken the time to provide recommendations for what to do and where to eat which is very helpful. The location is perfect, quiet and peaceful but not too far from the nearest towns. Rob and Naomi were very welcoming and we would definitely love to visit again
The cottage had everything that we needed. The kitchen, dining and lounge areas were comfortable and well equipment, so we could cook full dinners and relax watching the TV plus DVDs and Netflix in the evenings. The bedroom is a good size with a comfortable bed with a nice ensuite shower/toilet room.
The check-in process was simple with the parking directly behind the cottage, so it was easy to bring bags into the cottage. The host came to check if everything was ok or if we had any questions a couple of hours after we arrived.
I highly recommend this property for a relaxing short break.
This was our second stay at this cottage and I would definitely stay here again. I think a couple of little touch ups here and there in the property would be helpful but they're very minor things.
We had a very relaxing holiday in the cottage in Prestleigh. It is very quiet and well located for exploring the region's attractions. The hosts are very friendly and the stay was absolutely uncomplicated.
We spent an extremely pleasant long weekend at this lovely, homely little cottage. It was a perfect base for exploring the area. We visited so many delightful local places, and it was always so nice to return to this comfortable little home. Thank you Rob and Naomi. We had a great time!
The Evergreen Cottage was the perfect place to stay in the Somerset area. The hosts are lovely and the property is picture perfect and has everything you need for your stay. If you are looking for a country escape this is the place. One can hear the roosters crow in the mornings and the cows mooing at night. Would definitely visit again.
Found this very nice cosy cottage on VRBO which was very reasonably priced. From the pictures it looked very nice. In person this cottage is excellent. Everything that I required for my stay was available. The log burner is my favourite and I used for a couple of nights. The location was close to all the places I wanted to go to and is just off the main road towards Shelton Mallet, so was excellent. The owner came to say hello and welcome me. All in all I really enjoyed my short relaxing break. I hope to be able to return in the future if my travels being me back to this part of Somerset and I recommend any single traveller or couple to stay here.
The cottage is ideally placed for visiting other areas such as Frome, Wells, Mells and Glasto. We chose it as visiting friends in batcombe. It is located on a quiet lane, all amenities and comfortable with parking adjacent Would recommend as a base. Plenty of good gastro pubs in the area if you don't want to cook but well equipped kitchen if you do.
I would just add that if anyone considering this cottage is concerned about traffic or noise from the show ground it is not an issue. I was expecting to be "entertained" by Slade performing there on Saturday evening and heard nothing.
We spent a week at Evergreen Cottage, August 2021. The property is spacious, very well designed, with high ceilings and tasteful, modern, high quality decor. We immediately felt at home. Rob popped in to say hi and make sure we had all we needed (we did!). Kitchen well equipped, chairs and bed really comfortable and the bathroom smelled really nice! Everything was clean and well set out. The area is very pretty and the cottage a good place to explore from. Wells, Castle Cary, the Natterjack pub and Weston Farm cheese shop were highlights. We didn't need the log burner, but that looked great for cosy winter breaks. We sat out one evening, out the front on deck chairs we'd brought, but really we were out and about and didn't need a garden. We'd brought electric toothbrushes, you will need a plug adapter if you do the same. Internet connection is sporadic. We loved the sound of the little stream opposite and the sheep baaing. The lane is very quiet, the peace of the countryside very welcome. We had a lovely week, even though the weather was variable. In terms of Covid, we felt safe and could almost say back to normal.
Thank you so much for a lovely holiday. Ruth and Mike.
Excellent location for exploring Somerset. Property was well equipped with everything you need. Very peaceful and quiet but with easy access to main roads. We enjoyed Wells, Bath, Cheddar Gorge and Brean Down on the coast. Would heartily recommend it.
Modern well appointed property with everything needed for our stay. Property just lacks use of a garden but, since it’s in such a quiet lane, we sat out front with a glass wine having taken some deck chairs with us. We also planned to be out and about most days so didn’t feel this was an issue. Bed was lovely and comfortable and we had no issues during our stay. Some nice pubs in surrounding villages too....
Enjoyed our week at evergreen cottage, weather was excellent cottage had everything we needed, especially loved the huge bedroom and bed . The shower was amazing plenty of hot water.. loved all of it thank you..
Rob and Naomi made things really easy - from finding the house to getting in and settled. Even with covid complications. Cozy and clean cottage in a lovely neighborhood. Especially if you like cows! Surrounded by farm land within an easy distance of many many great tourist attractions such as Stonehenge, Jurassic coast and a fascinating jail in Shepton Mallet. Would definitely stay here again. We went for 2 weeks and I was concerned about getting clothes cleaned. Even though there no washing machine at the house, the laundrymatte in Shepton Mallet was very easy to find and run by a lovely gentleman. Simple!
Thank you Rob and Naomi!
Really cosy cottage in a very quiet location. A very good base to visit Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury, Wells, Bradford on Avon and many more places of interest. Cottage well equipped with all the necessities. Bed was very comfortable, we both slept very well. Hosts were very approachable and helpful. Plenty of lovely pubs to eat around the area. All in all a delightful stay.
Excellent experience first class service from the property management lovely family highly recommend would use again.

We hope visitors staying at Evergreen Cottage relax and unwind and enjoy all that Somerset has to offer.

Why they chose this property
Our property is located down a peaceful country lane in the small hamlet of Prestleigh. Stepping out of the front door we can follow the stream up the lane and into the glorious Somerset Countryside. Yet with a short drive we are in the historic City of Wells the smallest city in England. With its magnificent cathedral Wells still retains many independent shops, restaurants, pubs and twice weekly farmers market. Heading in the other direction we have Bruton and Castle Cary great places to wonder around and explore at leisure.
What makes this property unique
Evergreen Cottage is the perfect place for couples wanting to 'escape to the country'. It is superbly equipped and finished to the highest standard offering a luxurious and relaxing stay any time of the year. The cottage is ideally located for visiting the Bath & West showground which has events on all year round. There are many walks right on our doorstep from gentle strolls on the Somerset Levels through to all day hikes on the Mendip Hills. For the more adventurous Cheddar Gorge offers caving and climbing for people of all abilities. With the bus link from the Bath & West showground to Worthy Farm Evergreen Cottage is the perfect place to stay during the Glastonbury Festival for those who no longer want to endure the camping and infamous festival toilet facilities.
