We really enjoyed our time here, just wish we could have stayed longer. The apartment is comfy, cosy and welcoming and Marion and John are lovely people. The bird feeders just outside the window are inspired and much more entertaining than watching TV. We were even lucky enough to have a visit from the red squirrel which was amazing.Thank you Marion for the warm welcome and the lovely treats, we will definitely return.
I was lucky enough to be able to stay at this property for 2 nights whilst exploring the Lakes. It was perfect, so comfortable and the hosts were so kind and welcoming. Would love to come back again soon as the place was like a little home away from home. Thank you for letting me stay! :)

What a warm and hospitable couple! The flat was cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. The mountains and lakes were just a short drive away.
My stay in Ullock was an unforgettable experience — it truly felt like visiting my grandparents’ home and stepping back into the 90s. The peaceful surroundings, vintage charm, and calm countryside atmosphere made it feel warm and familiar. I loved how quiet and relaxing the area was, perfect for morning walks and gym sessions that kept my routine going even on holiday. The house was clean, cozy, and full of character, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s the kind of place that slows life down in the best way possible. I’d definitely love to return — it felt like home away from home.
We had a great 4 night stay here. The apartment had everything we wanted, and the lovely gardens were an added bonus. The location is ideal for visiting Buttermere, Loweswater and Ennerdale. Very friendly hosts and the wine and chocolates were much appreciated.
We had a lovely and relaxing stay in an excellent location. The accommodation was everything we could wish for and extremely comfortable. Our hosts were very welcoming and could not have done more to make our stay better. We will certainly return to Treetops next time we visit the area.

It's lovely to know people want to return to this lovely quiet side of the Lakes, especially when the hot spots are so busy.
We've lived in this village for over 50 years, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else, so it's nice that other people feel the same.
Look forward to seeing you again.
Lovely little downstairs area of cottage. Very clean and comfortable, had all facilities you’d need. Marion and John were delightful hosts, providing snacks, milk and were just upstairs if we needed anything. Very affordable compared to similar accommodation in the lakes, with Ullock being nicely located right next to the lakes but also round the corner from the beach. Highly recommend.

It's always a pleasure to welcome guests to our part of the world, and always hope that they have a good time during their stay. We do our best to make it a comfortable place to come back to after a long walk, or a day's sightseeing.
The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed, located very close to the Wainwrights we needed to do, as well as some great coastal walking. Wonderful hosts, very attentive and helpful with our check in, extremely friendly. We really appreciated the little touches, milk, juice, wine, chocolate and biscuits, to see us started and settled well into our mini Easter break. Thank you so much for everything!
The flat was perfect for what we wanted to do in the lake and surrounding areas, it’s situated in a brilliant spot and the village it is very quite and peaceful. Marion and John are one of the lovliest couples I’ve ever met and were more than happy to suggest places to go and see! I honestly fully recommend this as a break away.

It was lovely to meet such a great young couple who were out and about every day enjoying the area with such enthusiasm in spite of a couple of heavy downpours late in the day that sent them running for cover to the local pub!
Lovely stay. Everything you could possibly need in a property. So homely and cosy. Gardens were beautiful. The perfect location for peace and quiet whilst being not far from plenty of things to do. Owners very welcoming and friendly.

Good to know that feeding the birds is worth it!
Glad you enjoyed your break, and the bed was comfortable. Our local lakes are always appreciated as they are usually more peaceful, and quieter than others. Autumn colours have been lovely this year too!
Hope to see you again.
About the host
Hosted by Mr
We have lived in the village for over 40 years, and love to welcome visitors to our cosy peaceful home for their holiday, and have a wealth of local knowledge to enable you to enjoy your stay here.
Why they chose this property
We built this house ourselves, and the apartment has been available for letting for over 20 years, with many people coming back year after year to enjoy walking the fells, or just relaxing and exploring the lakes, coast, and local towns.
What makes this property unique
In a small rural village, we are just 5 miles from Cockermouth, and within easy reach of the Northern lakes, Loweswater within 4 miles, Buttermere and Crummock a short drive away. Keswick only 20 miles away. A wealth of wildlife in the extensive gardens, with a variety of birds and even red squirrels feeding just outside the window. A stream with packhorse bridge, pond and woodland path all there for you to enjoy when you arrive. Pubs in the neighbouring villages of Dean and Branthwaite offer good food, just a short walk on warmer evenings. We live on the premises and will be here to welcome you, and deal with any queries you may have.
