PLEASE NOTE ADDRESS CHANGE:
1137 SPRINGS FIREPLACE ROAD

We are only renting August 1 - Labor Day.

Asking $35,000.

Sorry, but this is the only period we’re considering.

Unique & Charming Cottage in Springs

Bright and welcoming and decorated with a blend of antiques and restoration hardware, our home is designed with an eye to both style and comfort.

Everyone's favorite room in summer is the massive sun room/screened-in porch with spectacular gas fireplace and vaulted ceilings. It holds a round dining table and a generous seating area. (You might just live in this room!) The grill is right outside in our landscaped fenced in garden ringed with rhododendron, hydrangea, tall trees and a dreamy hammock.

The first floor has a cozy living room w WBF, a media room with 46" flat screen & Sonos sound system, kitchen, breakfast nook, second bedroom and bath.

Both the living room and media room have pull out sofas and can be closed off with sliding barn doors, giving you the option of 2 additional "bedrooms."

Cable TV in the media room. Wireless internet throughout our home. Central air and heating.

The grounds have a built in sprinkling system and all yard work is included in the rental price.

Upstairs is the very private master bedroom and bath with beautiful sunny views and a king size bed.

The home is bright and cheerful and optimally located at the head of Gerard Drive, offering guests instant access to a scenic 3 mile run, bike ride or a dip in the bay.
One can easily hide away and enjoy this peaceful spot or drive 15 minutes to the ocean beach and all the fine restaurants of East Hampton.

The LIRR train station is 10 minutes away. There is a Jitney stop in the village, also about 10 minutes away.

Lynn and I will always be available by cell phone, text or email to answer any of your questions. And we will leave a handy notebook filled with tips about how to operate the TV, Sonos System, and WiFi.

About the host

Host profile image
My wife, Lynn Sullivan, and I live on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Lynn is a veteran real estate broker and I am the supervising editor for HBO Documentaries. She grew up in New York while I migrated from Detroit many years back. She loves the NY Giants; I root for my childhood team, the Tigers. She's a Columbia grad; I went to Notre Dame. Our daughter Juliet is a junior at Northwestern.

Why they chose this property

I bought this house with friends as an investment in 1981. We each pitched in a few bucks, not much. Eleven years later I bought them out, married, and with Lynn began the first of a series of renovations which has brought the house to where it is today. Our last redo was 3 years ago when we added a huge sun-room, central air, and opened the house throughout.

What makes this property unique

I fell in love with our house when I first saw the view of Accabonac Harbor a few steps from our porch. Plus, the hamlet of Springs is the perfect combination of quiet, rural getaway and easy access to trendy East Hampton, Amagansett, Bridgehampton, Montuak and Sag Harbor.
