About this property
St Ives Bay. Self Catering traditional Beach Chalet. Sleeps 4. Close to beach!
A beauitful beach chalet right on the coast at beautiful Riviere Towans on St Ives Bay, on the dramatic North coast of Cornwall. Originally built in the 1930s, the chalet has been carefully rebuilt and restored to retain all of its original wooden charm and more. The chalet can sleep up to four in a double room and bunk bedroom. Both bedrooms are furnished with comfortable duvets, bed-linen, plenty of pillows, and throws.
We have stocked it with plenty of books for all ages as well as a few toys and games.
The chalet has a lovely little patio at the back perfect for those sunny morning cuppa's and a quite read. With a large grass area great for the children to play. We love it there and hope you do to.
Some comments from last years' guests...
"....thank you for a truly fabulous experience, this was perfect for a family. The chalet is a dream to be in and the location is unbeatable. .... We have enjoyed and filled every moment, if we are not back in October..... we will be back next year!!"

"Thanks for creating such a perfect cornish hidaway.... We've had an epicurean adventure... we will be back!!
Jeni, Shamus, Fraya and Dylan.
Great for family holidays, situated in the sand dunes at Riviere Towans. Situated along the southern end of three miles of golden sands. Stretching from Virginia Woolf's famous lighthouse at Godrevy to the naturalists' haven of Hayle estuary. It has safe lifeguarded, swimming and surfing areas, tidal and rockpools, cliff-top coastal walks with stunning views and literally miles of golden sand – we think it's simply one of Cornwall's best beachs. It's also fantastic for serious windsurfer/surf breaks having a great break just out front in the right conditions. It makes a great out-of-season base for walking, fishing, seal-watching or simply regenerating.
Set in a quiet picturesque cluster of chalets on the edge of the Towans its a great central spot. The beach 5mins away with a pub above the cliffs to watch those sun sets. Hayle has plenty of lovely shops to brouse, pubs and resturants, all easy to get to along the coast path. Or visit nearby St Ives, approx 20 minutes' away by car or from Hayle one of the best train rides you can do. St Ives with its narrow cobbled streets and funny names, shops, galleries, restaurants, harbour and beaches. Explore Lands End, Porthcurno and the Minack theatre, fishing villages and sandy coves; Falmouth the Helford River and its creeks, Eden, ... all this and more so easily accessible, north and south coast alike.

About the host

A Cornish couple who love where we live! The beaches, surfing, horse riding, walking and general outdoor life!
We have owned the chalet for a twenty odd yrs and have carefully restored the chalet to its original 1930's charm ourselves.
We have owned the chalet for a twenty odd yrs and have carefully restored the chalet to its original 1930's charm ourselves.
Why they chose this property
The chalet is nested nicely in the dunes , a simple yet homely well equipped chalet with a 5min amble to the beach.
It is a great central spot for getting out and exploring as its close to all main roads but also for maybe forgetting the car and just walking down to the beach or setting off along the coastal path. You can easily walk into town where you can hire a surfboard, kayak, go crabbing while getting a pasty, shops, pub etc etc.

What makes this property unique
Its a brilliant place to go and get away from everyday life... back to the basics!
Play games, read and talk.
Run up and down to the beach on a nature trail ... sunrise, sunsets, surf, sand, buckets and spades, rock pools, shrimping, crabbing, dolphins pasties cream teas etc etc! We love it there and hope you do too!
