A Pretty Cottage in a Small Village Near Oxford and the Cotswolds
Green Cottage is a self-contained cottage at the end of a quiet lane which stops at a field gate. It has been converted from a small barn in the large walled garden of the owners' house, itself a pretty eighteenth-century Cotswold stone building. The cottage is private and cannot be seen from the main house. You can park your car next to the cottage. Green Cottage provides self-catering accommodation all on one floor for up to four people. Children are very welcome. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, and our guests often comment on its restful and home-like atmosphere. We would add, that, while we have always taken great care over cleanliness, we have now in these anxious times upgraded our whole cleaning regime so as to include disinfection as far as is practicable.
As you can see from the floor plan and photographs, a spacious conservatory opens into a large, light living room. Next to this is a fully fitted kitchen with dining area. Then there is a hall, which leads to a bathroom and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed (150x200cm), and the second has two single beds (each 90x190cm). The bathroom has a bath with wall-mounted shower. No pets and no smoking. Facilities includes linen, towels and duvets, wireless high-speed broadband internet connection, flat screen digital television and DVD player, radio/CD player, cooker and microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, baby's cot and high chair, central heating, a wood-burning stove (an initial quantity of logs supplied), parking next to cottage, and a secluded garden area with table and chairs.
Self-catering accommodation, sleeps 4, all on one floor in an attractive walled garden.

A lovely comfortable house in a lovely tranquil area
This is a lovely character house that is equipped with everything one would need for a holiday. The location is second to none, close to the River Thames and interesting beautiful villages. Oxford is a short drive away with a number of 'park and ride' locations not too far from the house.
The area is absolutely beautiful and calm, the landlords obloging and warm-hearted.
There are three pubs around where you can walk to, shopping facilities require a car, as far as we sorted them out.
We absolutely recommend that cottage.

So glad you had a good week! Come again any time.
All the best to you and the boys,
Julie
We enjoyed staying in the cottage. The cottage is equiped with everything we needed, such as bedding, towels, kitchen equipment and power adapters. It is situated in a peaceful small village, where we did walk to the Thames river. Also trips to Oxford, Blennheim Palace and the Cotswald are beautiful.
It is a very pretty little cottage set in a beautiful garden. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. The hosts are very polite and accommodating and welcomes us with a homemade cake.
Northmoor is an ideal base for touring Oxford or the Cotswolds.

Great that you enjoyed your time at the cottage! I hope the Edinburgh part of your holiday went well - such a beautiful city.
With best wishes to you all,

The hosts, Julie and Peri, are the most likable considerate people. They saw to our needs and showed concern when we needed it. The cottage, the garden, and Bakers Lane are perfect for people who want to feel peace.
I had a wonderful time here. The property is as it appears in the profile and everything works. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and spacious with plenty of light, whilst being private. Julie and Peri are extremely welcoming and go to every effort to ensure you have a good stay at their property. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you!

We loved having you at the cottage - and I must say, never has it been left so clean and tidy! Thank you. And do come again if ever you need to.
We spent a very cosy Christmas at the cottage at Northmoor. The kitchen was very well equipped even down to a copy if Delia’s Christmas cook book to help me cook Christmas dinner. There are a number of walking books in the cottage and we really appreciated them to plan local walks. Thanks Julie for a very enjoyable stay

With all good wishes for 2022,

We are a family from Australia with 2 older teens (15 and 18). We stayed for 6 nights and just loved it. The cottage was very comfortable and easy to cook in and for everyone to have space. We had a car and easily got about the region. We loved eating at the local pub The Red Lion which was a 2 min walk up the road. Our hosts were incredibly helpful and kind. Highly recommend
I recently spent 5 days at Green Cottage. Julie and Peri were very friendly and helpful, so I felt immediately at home after my long drive from Surrey. The property is beautiful; I especially loved the morning sun in the conservatory, and the lush garden. The cottage had everything I needed, and its warmth and decor were so welcoming and relaxing I wanted to move in permanently. Only regret is that I ran out of time: not just to explore the wider area, but to undertake some of the enticing walks very nearby, and to visit the village pub a short stroll away.
The Owners are Wonderful Persons. The Cottage is in a very quiet Street. We spend many time in hiking in this area. You can reach the Thames in a few minutes. The Cottage have a nice green garden, perfect for breakfast outside.
From Northmoore you can reach Oxford and Abington in a short time.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope the rest of your holiday was everything you hoped it would be!
Vey comfortable and well-equipped cottage at a good location for exploring the Oxford area and the Cotswolds. Also lots of local walks, although a word of warning for any older people with dodgy knees (like me) there are lots of stiles - some easier to negotiate than others. The supply of books in the cottage covers a wide range, which is relatively unusual. Overall an excellent break for us (couple in mid-seventies).

Thank you so much for writing such a lovely review. It makes it all worth it!
With kind regards,

This cottage was clean and quite charming and located near a field with sheep! The hosts, who live in an adjoining house, were thoughtful -- thank you for the chocolate cake! -- and respectful. The house had everything -- a full kitchen with several ways to make coffee, full fridge, etc. We were just two, and were quite comfortable, using the extra bedroom as our dressing room. The hosts left a thorough guide with everything you need to know about the house and the area. It was truly a quiet and wonderful place to stay in the countryside, and easy to drive to many locations in the surrounding area.

About the host
Hosted by Julie and Peri Hankey
We have lived in Northmoor for more than 33 years. Nearly 20 years ago we converted what used to be an old barn and stables in our garden to create Green Cottage as a self-contained annex. Originally it was intended for Julie's mother, and this perhaps accounts for a great deal of its special and welcoming character.
Why they chose this property
We moved here because Northmoor is very rural - we can walk for miles straight from the house, without having to drive. At the same time we are close to Oxford and several other small towns. For more ambitious outings, we are within range of London, the sea (Lulworth in Dorset is a favourite spot) and the Welsh borders.
What makes this property unique
Guests will notice the quietness, especially the absence of traffic. Also everything is within walking distance - the pub, our beautiful 14th-century church, and the village hall, where there is a monthly village market with local produce and also a children's playground.
