It’s in a good location in that you can walk into Sidmouth, and there are lovely walks in the Byes the park. The host responded quickly when we had an issue with a door. The big challenge is the parking as without my husbands blue badge we would have struggled to park anywhere near, I would worry that in the season this would be even harder. The house is well equipped, and the bed is comfy, I agree with previous comments that the sofa is not comfy, and some areas need an update. I think also that it should explain that there are steps at the front door, and the stairs and the bathroom access are tricky, we just about managed them as 70 yr olds, but I think they would also be tricky for a toddler. Sidmouth is a lovely place to visit .
We enjoyed are stay at the property. Being next to the Byes was a bonus and great for walking the dog.The only criticism was the parking situation. Ideally if every property had its own parking bay then this would overcome this problem.Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend Sidmouth to anyone who asked.

Thank you very much we are so glad to enjoyed your holiday
The parking. This has been reviewed, actively petitioned by the residents on numerous occasions over the years. The council’s response has always been to refuse residents parking. However be assured this matter will be raised again at some point by the residents
We would like to welcome you back should you wish to return to Sidmouth in the future. As you mentioned the location is ideal next to the Byes and a short walk to shops and beaches.
Property owners have been extremely helpful and very easy to contact, the property is located in the best possible location to enjoy Sidmout, ample space to relax and enjoy all that sidmouth has to offer, will 100% book again.
The house is in a perfect spot for walking into Sidmouth or through the beautiful Byes. Well equipped with very comfy bed although sofas could do with an upgrade. Only downside is parking can be tricky but we would stay here again when coming to Sidmouth.

Good location for the byes
Good location for walking on the Byes, 10 minutes from the seafront. It is a Victorian house and the stairs are tricky on the 1st floor landing next to the bathroom. 4 minutes from an amazing pub called The Volunteer Inn, which has amazing food and is well worth a visit.

We were very dismayed and surprised that you only gave a three star review This was more unbelievably puzzling since the only comment was about the stairs which are typical of Victorian house and mentioned on the website
Charming house in an ideal location just across from the Byes and a short walk into Sidmouth.
Parking can be a little tricky, but the owners had provided a folder containing lots of useful information, including alternative parking.

Thank you so much for your review. So pleased you enjoyed By the Byes and Sidmouth. We would like very much to welcome you back sometime in the future if you are Sidmouth way again
The property was excellent and in a nice quiet part of Sidmouth. It was a bit of a lottery with regards to parking, but I think that was because several properties had contractors in working.

Perfect location for walking into Sidmouth and surrounding countryside via the beautiful Byes.

Our daughter loved what she described as "her cave"which was actually the loft room.

Thank you very much. We are very pleased you enjoyed your holiday and we would be delighted to see you again in the future. You were our first guests this year due to Covid-19!
We had a most enjoyable two weeks in this comfortable property. It is conveniently situated overlooking the trees and grassy area known as the Byes which provides an easy walk to the seafront and the shops. The house is well equipped and the information given in the folder is comprehensive and helpful. We thoroughly recommend a holiday here.

Very spacious property, superb location for walks on The Byes and its surrounding area. The beach is not far away, along with the shops and cafes
Property is in a good location but parking could be difficult. House not ideal for elderly people as stairs very steep and no downstairs toilet. Location very quiet. Would be okay for a young family.
Will not stay there again.

We find your review quite harsh based on steep stairs which are typical of houses of the Victorian period A downstairs toilet was not listed in the property information
A spacious house with a lovely little back garden to sit in. Front view is of the allotments leading to a small bridge over a stream with a 10 minute walk to town and seafront. A vibrant town with independent shops, cafe's, pubs and restaurants. Can highly recommend Dukes, The Anchor and The Chattery.

Great property for convenience of location and victorian charm. We only got in the car once for a day trip, all others were walks or bus rides. Property was clean, had mod cons and was very comfortable. Instructions were clear for appliances. Thanks to owners .

Thank you for your review, though we were rather shocked at your rating. Rose petals had probably fallen on the path during your stay as the weather was hot and dry. Beautiful holiday weather but not so good for plants!
We will take on board the replacement of the TV. It is five years old and technology does move at a pace.
Thank you very much for your great review . We will supple a scart lead of course.
Kind regards

We are both retired and look forward to the more relaxed pace of life Devon offers. We chose Sidmouth as the perfect place for our holiday home by the sea, having holidayed here for many years when our children were younger.
Why they chose this property
Our children now grown up with children of their own remember very fondly Sidmouth holidays. Therefore it seemed the obvious choice for a holiday home. We love Sidmouth with its elegant seafront and beaches. We love our sunny house with its location adjacent to The Byes. In 2 minutes we are walking by running water or off for a picnic. The Sid Vale Association, the first Civic Society in Britain founded in1846 in Sidmouth has sought to preserve the towns unique character and heritage. There is a great choice of shops, eateries of all kinds beautiful garden to admire and interesting walks abound. It is surrounded by the East Devon Area of Outstanding A little further afield the Jurassic coast offers walking and exploring opportunities while the city of Exeter offers retail therapy. Sidmouth is easily accessed from M4. The theatre, local events and societies are numerous which give all year round appeal.
What makes this property unique
Byes View is an attractive terrace house built around 1906, in a quite residential area. It is adjacent to and overlooks The Byes a great location for families and pet owners. A 2 minute walk brings you into this is a huge long park that runs from Sidmouth to Sidbury 2km alongside the River Sid, and owned by the National Trust. It is an 8-10minute walk through The Byes to the beach. If it is the shops you require then a 5 minute walk brings you into the town. The rear garden is a suntrap all day, while the bench in the front garden is great for morning coffee. We have all enjoyed making Byes View our home from home by the sea. We all thought what was important for a relaxing and happy holiday and each suggestion has been carefully incorporated.
