VILLA LUZ in the mainly residential pretty village of Addaia on the north coast of Menorca is a spacious south facing colonial style family home. Tastefully furnished and fully equipped to an exceptionally high standard the villa is surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean Courtyard Gardens, terraces and spacious inside and outside living areas.

SPECIAL FACILITIES include - heated pool, child proof access to pool, A/C in all the bedrooms and living room, ceiling fans, WiFi - 30mbs. Limited satellite UK TV Channels in 2 bedrooms, Full IPTV in living room and Master En-suite. Wood burner with logs, additional heating too. 2 Bose audio systems, DVD player, electric piano and recorder (with music) and a hairdryer in every bedroom. Loads of family games, books, DVD films and CDs. SOS button to call emergency services.

The Garden Room has 5 sets of bi-fold doors, 2 ceiling fans and a teak dining table and chairs to seat up to 10. Each main door has 'tip and tilt' hinges so no small child can escape to the pool. This spacious area overlooks the pool and gardens. It has a big built in BBQ, servery, and a lovely suite of rattan furniture where you can chill out with a good book or enjoy drinks together before dining in or out as the mood takes you.

The private heated pool with cover (Roman steps) is 9m x 4m with 6 pool loungers and 4 reclining cushioned chairs alongside.

Upstairs there are 3 light and airy bedrooms all with vaulted ceilings. Each room opens onto the large sun terrace with views over the end of the port and the surrounding countryside. This terrace has roll out blinds, 4 cushioned chairs and 2 cushioned sun loungers. Bedroom 4 is downstairs which opens out onto the lovely courtyard gardens.

The Master Bedroom with a super-king sized bed is en suite. It has its own IPTV system and a small dressing area. Bedroom 2 also has a super-king bed and some satellite UK TV channels. Bedroom 3 has twin beds which can be zipped and linked to create another super-king bed and there is room for a cot in this bedroom. These 2 bedrooms share the family bathroom. Bedroom 4 downstairs has twin continental beds which can be zipped and linked to make a further super-king bed. It has some satellite UK TV channels and there is a shower room just across the hallway.

The totally versatile sleeping accommodation is ideal for siblings who may require separate bedrooms, grandparents who like privacy and those who may have limited mobility.

All the beds came from the UK and are extremely comfortable with 2 quality duck down pillows for everyone. Each guest is provided with a bath sheet, large hand towel, and face flannel.

Nothing personal is locked away including the larder, wines, emergency toiletries and cleaning materials.

On arrival you will find a comprehensive Villa Information Pack detailing how everything works, who to contact for help, where to shop, suggested excursions and places to eat together with all emergency numbers. The house alarm system has an SOS button for serious emergencies. There is a medical centre and pharmacy 5 mins away in Arenal.

It is a short stroll to the village where there are 3 bars/restaurants, a mini Spar supermarket and a souvenir/paper shop, and also to the port where there is a bar/restaurant at the water's edge overlooking the boats. Beautiful safe sandy beaches in Arenal and Macaret are 5 mins away by car and there are many other stunning sandy beaches not far away for you to discover. Beach brollies and insulated picnic/drinks hampers are provided.

There is an 18-hole golf course and tennis courts in Son Parc - 10 minutes by car. Sailing and diving schools/hire facilities in Fornells - 15 minutes away. Kayaks, bicycles and boats can be hired from the port from where a really picturesque coastal walk begins. The whole area in and around Addaia provides an ideal base for water sports, walking, bird watching, painting and photography.

A car is essential to really appreciate the beauty this part of Menorca has to offer. There is a limited bus service from the village to several parts of the island including the capital, Mahon. Google www.villacars.es for 15% discount on car hire when you book a stay in my home.

Less than 30 minutes from the airport Villa Luz is an elegant, private and peaceful 'home from home' where you and your family and friends can enjoy an active or quiet and relaxing holiday at any time of the year.

The RENTAL PRICE per week for the villa INCLUDES - WiFi, satellite UK TV channels, IPTV, all taxes, villa preparation for your arrival and cleaning and laundry after you leave. All linens and towels will be changed and a top and tail clean carried out halfway through your stay if this is for more than 11 nights. It is essential to book early for the High Season and Half Term breaks.

EXCLUDED (optional chargeable extras) - pool heating to 28 degrees at £130/€150 a week, pool/beach towels, baby cot/highchair - all can be hired - I can arrange for you and the cost of an additional interim clean/bed linen and towel change if not included for short stays.

Amazing family holiday

The property is absolutely fantastic and the owner has thought of everything! We were blown away when we arrived at just how beautiful the house and gardens are. Amazing stay in a great location

This was our first visit to Menorca and did not disappoint. Jane’s place had everything you need to have a great holiday (and more!). It was a great location, quiet but enough amenities such as restaurants and a shop to be convenient. A coffee overlooking the port is a must have, we also did kayaking around the bay. The villa itself is wonderful, worked really well for our family and we had no issues. Communication was also very quick and helpful from Jane. We would love to return one day.

Lovely villa, couldnt fault it. Port d'Addaia has no beach. Steep hill from villa to shops in one direction, port in the other so not walkable unless very fit. Not a great location for teenagers as too quiet. Had to drive everywhere so car is essential.

Perfect home-from-home stay

Delightful villa, clean, spacious and as fully equipped as home. Everything we needed, and much more than expected, couldn't have wished for more. Location is just right distance from airport - near enough to drive, but far enough to escape flight noise, and within a beautifully quiet residential area, with adequate restaurants, supermarket etc. and close to child-friendly beach. Super, communicative, host whom I felt became like a new friend. The pool is exceptional, perfect size, excellent maintenance and cleanliness, and oh so warm!! Well done Jane and thank you.

A beautiful villa in a lovely location

Villa Luz was perfect for our party of 4 adults and 4 teenagers. It had absolutely everything that we needed for aw relaxing holiday. The villa itself was spotless and spacious with gorgeous views of the port from all of the first floor bedrooms. The outside space was fantastic for us. Jane's garden was lovely and there was plenty of seating to accommodate both adults and children. The pool was well maintained and enjoyed by all. This was our second visit to Port Addaia and we love the area. The village is quiet with a well stocked supermarket and a couple of restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Corner Bar for tapas and cocktails and the Indian restaurant was popular with our children. La Cantina at the port offers good food and drinks in a pretty setting. We rented kayaks from the port to explore the area around Addaia which was a big hit with the kids.The beaches at Son Parc and Cavalleria were beautiful for the adults with great swimming for the children. The island is very east to explore and we had great trips to Fornells, Mahon and Cuitadella. All in all a great family holiday.

Home away from home!

Believe all the 5 star reviews! This house is lovingly cared for, in excellent condition, and has everything you will need for a wonderful stay (far beyond the basics--Jane has thought of everything including umbrellas and coolers for the beach, pool toys, etc). Each of the 4 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms was equally comfortable. The air conditioning works well in all bedrooms and common rooms of the house. The pool is wonderful, clean and had a perfect temperature in August. The neighborhood is very peaceful and within walking distance you have a market, restaurants, the port, a small playground, and lovely viewpoints over the water. Street parking is easy and plentiful. From the first moment to the last, Jane was incredibly responsive and had everything meticulously prepare for our stay. When we had a few mishaps (mistakes we made, a few glasses that our child broke, etc), Jane was gracious and responsive to help us fix/replace things right away. We would love to return one day soon!

Everything you need and could ever want!!

Just the most lovely villa to have a relaxing family holiday. This was our first holiday abroad with our 9 month old daughter and so we were suitably nervous...! Jane was wonderful and helped settle all nerves by providing us with a wonderful information pack, arranging for a cot and highchair to be available and heating the pool so that it wouldn't be too chilly fir our little one. Jane even gave us instructions for where to find a blender to make our daughter dinner! It was this attention to detail that just made us feel so at home. The villa itself has breath taking views of the port and whitewashed buildings surrounding it, all of which can be viewed from the veranda which gets the most glorious morning sun. Ada (our daughter) felt so at ease she took her first shuffles on all fours in the living room overlooking the beautiful garden. The rooms are very comfortable, with air con, comfy beds and again all with fantastic views. We walked into the village to get fresh bread every morning and there are two lovely places to eat within walking distance. There are great sandy beaches (one had PINK sand - beautiful!!) less than 15 minute drive away. Great location. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough, a wonderful wonderful break. Thank you Jane.

Hemos pasado 14 días fantásticos en Villa Luz! Enseguida nos sentimos como en casa.La casa es confortable y bonita. No le falta detalle! La piscina es muy agradable y está muy bien cuidada, igual que el jardín. Las vistas de la terraza de las habitaciones de arriba son bonitas. Las camas son muy cómodas y en todas las habitaciones hay aire acondicionado, lo que se agradece mucho. También hay ventiladores. La limpieza de la casa también muy bien. We enjoyed a holiday to celebrate a significant birthday with family and friends and found Villa Luz was everything we had hoped it would be. We arrived to find Villa Luz sparkling clean, well equipped with very comfortable beds, and the pool was warm and inviting - a real treat before breakfast on the terrace. Amazing Holiday!

The villa was spotlessly clean. It is spacious, very quiet and private and the gardens are beautiful. We followed another family and they left prepared dishes for us in the fridge, apparently this is a villa tradition - a lovely idea, much appreciated. The pool was heated for our stay (included in the rental charge). The attention to detail throughout the villa is incredible, from hairdryers in every bedroom to the overall layout of everything both inside and outside. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner including pre-holiday support and advice on what to do and where to go during our stay. We love The Corner Bar ('Tapas with a Twist') which is just up the road. The local small supermarket is well-stocked too. We had an amazing holiday and have returned home totally relaxed. We would definitely stay again.

Strepitosa Villa English Style

Siamo rimasti tutti stupefatti della bellezza di questa casa, arredata con amore dalla padrona, Jane. Si vede che è stata arredata per essere vissuta da lei e la sua famiglia. Poi però ha deciso di affittarla a persone che sanno amare e rispettare la bellezza della casa e del luogo. È situata sulla via che conduce al porticciolo di Addaia, la zona è abitata per lo più da inglesi. Forse è lo stile della padrona, o è caratteristica tipica del luogo, non saprei, perché è la prima volta che vengo qui, ma è consuetudine che ogni villeggiante predisponga delle vivande di benvenuto a quelli che arriveranno dopo. E così la famiglia francese che ci ha preceduto, e che ringrazio, ci ha lasciato tanti cibi buoni in frigo! Torniamo alla villa: è dotata di ogni comfort, dai detersivi(ovviamente li usi e li ricompri per il prossimo che arriva), ai phon in ogni camera, all’impianto Bose per ascoltare la musica, ai teli da piscina. Insomma, basta arrivare con quattro vestiti in croce e la vacanza comincia!!!

Wonderful holiday from start to finish!

What a lovely welcome - we arrived to find a feast-filled fridge which meant no exhausting trip to the supermarket and instead we could instantly relax and enjoy Villa Luz. It is a beautiful place and Jane has thought of everything to make it a home from home: clean and spacious; well stocked cupboards; air con in all rooms; plenty of information and suggestions for trips and meals; a great location - and the pool! Totally Relaxing!

Menorca is a beautifully green island with many great restaurants, fabulous beaches and fascinating places to explore. The roads are good and nowhere is too far away. Addaia is a quiet mainly residential area with a pretty marina at its heart. Villa Luz is simply lovely. It is beautifully furnished throughout with an air of calm elegance and has everything you could possibly need. The gorgeous comfortable bedrooms and fabulous pool side terrace were a highlight for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Villa Luz has it all. Set in a beautiful location a very short walk from the quiet port with a very relaxing restaurant. A small cluster of shops and restaurants are along the road to fill your needs if you so wish. I have stayed at a great number of villas over the years and this has to be the best yet. The villa has great beds, Sky TV, WI-FI, excellent cooking facilities and a heated pool to die for. The owner has put a lot of personal touches to the villa and outside areas which give the place a bit of character. The information I received prior to travelling was second to none and this made the 25 minute journey to the villa stressless (this theme continued throughout the 7 day stay and are the most stress free I have had for a long time}. What can we say about this amazing Villa. It is absolutely wonderful, with all round luxury, plus the sun is on the pool all day. Jane the owner, has made sure that every attention to detail has been thought about, and is close to all amenities - an ideal location. We decided on a totally relaxing holiday, so did not hire a car, there are some lovely places to visit on the Island. Can't praise this Villa enough, thanks Jane for all your help......Buckley & Moore families.

Very helpful pre-holiday care

Jane, the villa owner, has been very helpful to me since I first contacted her about her wonderful home. She has answered every question promptly and with thought. She has provided good information about the villa and surrounding area which I find very helpful when choosing from the hundreds of holiday homes advertised. It is reassuring to know she is available and knowledgeable. Thank you Jane, such a shame the dates we wanted are booked.....we certainly hope to stay in the future. Best wishes, Jane

Beautiful Villa, pool & garden. Perfection!

Highly recommended, excelled my expectations. A home from home. Everything about this villa was perfection, from the quality of the rooms, to the well equipped kitchen and the stunning garden with beautiful flowers. Loving care and attention has been paid to every little detail, from the detailed information provided about Menorca, to a well stock cupboard which supplied most of the holiday essentials you can think of, which you could use and then replace before the end of your stay, out of courtesy to those that follow you. Location suited us, as it was lovely and quiet, with great food close by, just a few minutes walk away, for those nights you don't want to cook. Easy enough to find your way around the island and visit the more busier resorts.

I retired from Sales & Marketing computerised FE College Administration Systems across the UK to spend more time choral singing, playing the piano, cooking, gardening, and fund raising. Although I no longer sing with a choir, I am busy with everything else. My veg plot, greenhouses and cold frames are incredibly productive and help me get things growing early so that I can zoom out to Menorca asap in April to cure winter withdrawal symptoms! I'm a big foodie and a good cook, apparently, so I entertain 'Addaia' on a regular basis and often have friends to stay.

Why they chose this property

Over 40 years ago my father purchased a property in the private Puerto Luz complex - just in front of Villa Luz. The whole family enjoyed many years of holidaying in Addaia as we grew up, married and had children of our own.

I love Addaia being able to see the sea, enjoy the surrounding rural, mainly farming, countryside and I have many friends on the island. I purchased my father’s property and subsequently sold it after I bought, totally refurbished, and moved into Villa Luz where I now live for 3 months a year. The beauty, peace and relaxing atmosphere of this northern coast of Menorca is always a tonic and I look forward to my regular visits.

What makes this property unique

Villa Luz is very much a 'home from home' for all to enjoy. All soft furnishings, decorations and facilities are of the highest quality and comfort. The villa is decorated with pictures, paintings, interesting antiques and many objets d'arts and the pool can be heated for your stay.

The Mediterranean courtyard gardens surrounding the villa are a joy, where it is quiet, peaceful and private.

It is unusual to find a 4 bed, 3 bath holiday home with such extremely comfortable superking sized beds (6' x 6' 6") and soft pillows. All the beds, pillows linen and towels and much more was shipped out from the UK.

The Master Bedroom, Bedroom 2 and the Living/Dining room all have Sky TV. Bedroom 4 has Freeview TV. Each bedroom is provided with a hairdryer.

Nothing personal is locked away, including the larder, wines, emergency toiletries and cleaning materials.

The villa's motto is 'do as you would be done by', just replace what you use from my private stocks.

On arrival you will find a comprehensive Villa Information Pack detailing how everything works, who to contact for help and where to shop, together will all emergency numbers. Further - the house alarm system has an SOS button for serious emergency help.

Available for rent throughout the year.
