Ventura Beach Retreat - Excellent Value! 2 bedroom with garden and patio.

Welcome to your lovely, personal oasis. An ideal beach retreat. TWO STORY, FULLY FURNISHED TOWNHOUSE. Full access to your own private garden in the back.

We are just one block from the ocean with a beautiful, uncrowded beach, in the Ventura Pierpont Area.

This property is best suited to provide you a space for some quiet, comfortable and relaxing time.

Park off street in the private carport on site. Upstairs are both bedrooms and the full bath. Downstairs is a fully stocked kitchen, seated dining area and living room -- which open into a lush private garden. The lanai is wonderful to lounge on, have dinner on the outdoor table. Enjoy sitting outside, taking in the organic fig, avocado and citrus trees. Nearby are a Von's grocery store, a Starbuck's and laundromat. Everything you need is here!

Explore your Area
Stroll on the beach, check out the sunsets, walk up the beach a bit. Or enjoy the nearby restaurants. Maybe you want to rent a surfboard, bicycle or a kayak from the local shops and go get out there to enjoy the sun. You could go ocean fishing, whale watching or visit Channel Islands by walking the other direction down the beach to the harbor. Explore downtown Ventura to find cute antique shops and boutique stores as well as a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Downtown Harbor Trolley provides a free and fun way to get between the Pierpont area and Downtown. If you are a golfer, two courses are just a mile or two away.

Explore a wider area with easy access to highway 1/101. Santa Barbara is thirty minutes north and offers many fine dining and wine tasting experiences. Take a drive south down Highway 1 to get a great view of the ocean, through Malibu and find yourself in Santa Monica or Venice beach, about an hour from here. Head into the mountains nearby and visit Ojai to tap into your spirituality or explore nature with a number of hiking options.

Booking Guidance
Did we mention quiet, comfortable and peaceful? This place is great for mature travelers, snowbirds, couples and corporate travelers. We prefer longer stays (30 days or more) and can work with you to split up your payments, if needed.

Please note: The rental is kept vacant briefly between guests to make sure we have time to clean the property between guests. Business and personal travelers are welcomed.

It's worth it to note that this property is not suitable for parties. If you intend on having extra over-night guests please advise us of this before booking and we can figure something out. Additional over-night guests not cleared with us will be considered a breach of the contract, with an additional $100 fee per night.

Also, there's no smoking and no pets allowed on the property.
We're not a management service, just people renting our space and respecting the guests we meet. We ask for the same.

The Livery Arts Center and Channel Islands National Park are also worth visiting. Kayaking and power boating offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking and cycling nearby.

We absolutely loved our stay! The home was perfect — two comfortable bedrooms, a clean and convenient bath and a half, and a beautiful garden that felt like our own private retreat. I really enjoyed the location and the owner Donna. To say she is sweet is an understatement. She was thoughtful and kind. The location is perfect - a block from the beach and a few blocks from the marina. There is a cute downtown within walking distance with several really good restaurants. I miss it already.

Great place to stay in Ventura

This was our second time to stay at this property. We loved both of our stays. Donna is a wonderful host and did everything to make our stay pleasant. The place is impeccably clean and very convenient to the beach. It is very quiet and safe. We absolutely loved the stunning patio at the back for a restful way to enjoy our coffee and just to relax in general. We loved our stay and hope to be back there again when we travel to Ventura. Our thanks to Donna for such a wonderful place to stay.

Our home away from home!

Where do I start? The property was beautiful, our lovely landlord, Donna is beyond amazing (!!). The location was terrific and Ventura is great! We spent 3 months here this summer and we were so reluctant to leave. The home is lovely. 2 bedrooms and a jack n Jill bath upstairs. Large closets. The downstairs also had a half bath. The outdoor areas were so gorgeous. Lush tropical plants, several sitting areas to enjoy. Completely private. Donna is a beautiful person, inside and out. She is beyond thoughtful, never intrusive but we were always happy to see her! I’ve run out of adjectives to describe our stay but will finish with this, we can not wait to go back!

Such a gem but beware of host/manager.

This was one of the worst experience I’ve ever had with VRBO because of the host and the person managing the rental on behalf of the host. Be prepared for constant phone calls, agreesively toned voice messages, text messages and VRBO messages EVEN BEFORE YOUR STAY BEGINS. The host claims to “be able to hear how many guests are in the unit because of the shared wall” to her unit and may even falsely accuse you of having more guests than originally reported like she did with us. We unfortunately experienced some vehicle issues during our stay which caused a spillage in the carport. We cleaned the stains effectively and efficiently. However, not to the host standards which resulted her being outside each morning to verbally harass us about it. We also experienced some technical issues on VRBO side with making payments towards our stay which resulted in the host constantly reminding us as we were leaving the unit each day. “You haven’t even paid me yet” was not the “good morning” we were hoping for multiple days in a row. Extremely disappointing because the unit is cute but not worth it to constantly be harassed.

"Beach Retreat": Teerverseucht!!

1. Strand und Teerproblematik: Leider war der Strand stark mit Teer verschmutzt, was dazu führte, dass wir ihn nicht nutzen konnten. In den Gästeinformationen wurde lediglich darauf hingewiesen, dass wir das Haus nicht mit Schuhen betreten sollen, wenn wir vom Strand kommen. Allerdings wurden wir nicht darüber informiert, dass unsere Schuhe durch den Teer beschädigt werden könnten. Das war für uns enttäuschend, da wir unsere Schuhe letztendlich wegwerfen mussten. Wir fanden es unpassend, dass die Unterkunft in der Anzeige als “Beach Retreat – nur Schritte vom Sand entfernt” beschrieben wird, obwohl der Zugang zum Strand durch die Teerproblematik stark eingeschränkt war.2. Toilettenprobleme: Die Toilette im Ferienhaus funktionierte während unseres Aufenthalts mehrfach nicht. Das Wasser lief ständig durch, und obwohl dreimal ein Monteur kam, war die Problematik nur kurzfristig behoben und nicht nachhaltig gelöst.Wir hoffen, dass zukünftige Gäste eine angenehmere Erfahrung machen können.

Pleasant and relaxing

My husband and I live in Arizona so for us Ventura is the best location as it is cooler than the beach towns south of there. Donna's place was perfect for us: right size, great location (walking distance to beach, coffee shops and grocery) but also close to Oxnard and other interesting places such as Solvang. The house is bright and pleasant, comfortable and it is a true rental. I do not like when people rent their own personal house and leave their toothbrushes in the bathroom!!! The backyard is a delight: I spent many hours reading books either in the shade or the sun... your choice. We enjoyed dining in old town San Buenaventura as there are many choices. Donna was welcoming and helpful, a great neighbor!

This is a lovely small duplex only 2 blocks from the beach!

The location is ideal for beach-going and sightseeing in Ventura! Donna is a very friendly and helpful hostess who lives in the adjoining duplex. The lovely private garden off the back of the duplex is so nice for enjoying the sunshine. There were a couple of issues that came up immediately upon my arrival but they were quickly taken care of once brought to Donna's attention. Two other items that were a bit bothersome but not worth, at the time, bringing to Donna's attention were: (1) the wifi service was quite slow such that streaming movies, tv shows and online videos all took a while to load; and (2) the oven seemed to be quite finicky and difficult to get it to reach the preset temperature. I only attempted to use the oven one time since I had difficulty with it. The duplex was well appointed but showed a bit of wear. Overall, I had a wonderful stay of 5 weeks at this location and would go back again!

Ideal location and comfortable abode

We stayed in Donna’s townhouse in Pierpont, Ventura for 5 weeks while visiting friends and family in the area and it was perfect! Stylishly decorated, bright and airy, clean and comfortable, and very easy to live in. The courtyard garden area is delightful, private and lush with plenty of seating. We found the kitchen well stocked and great for cooking in. The townhouse is ideally located 5 to 10 minutes walk to parks, Pierpont Beach, a beach eatery street with about 7 restaurants and a few shops (Pierpont Tacos are fantastic), and another small shopping centre with a Vons supermarket, Starbucks, cafes, restaurants and other shops and services. To get to Downtown Ventura there is a excellent walk and cycleway along the beach and past the Pier, the free Downtown Shuttle Bus operates on some days, and there’s a great Uber service too. We would highly recommend this place and hope to stay there again when we next visit.

Great affordable option near the beach and Seaward Village

Location is excellent. 5 minute walk to the beach and 8 minute walk to the restaurants of Seaward Village. Also a short walk to the Vons shopping complex. House was very clean. The backyard area is really nice to sit in and enjoy--spacious and full of plants. Donna is very nice (welcomed us with a friendly note and a bottle of wine), and her property manager Ryan is very responsive to any messages. I would recommend this place for any length of stay

This location is wonderful, you're close to the beach, a park, a marina, downtown, the 101 freeway. You'll have a private patio garden, comfortable beds and furniture and a great host that makes sure everything is alright. I highly recommend this property.

Loved my stay in Pierpont. This location was great...walk to Vons, walk to Starbucks, walk to restaurants. The duplex is wonderful, clean and well setup with everything you need. Backyard is spacious, and the whole place is very safe and quiet. Wish I could stay longer!

Lovely, very clean with beautiful garden

Wonderful one week stay. Donna, the landlord, was gracious and welcoming. We had a few minor issues which were cleared up immediately with extremely prompt reply from the property manager who communicated with Donna quickly. Garden area is a delight. House is very clean and well kept.

Cozy, comfy, gorgeous gardens in back

Nice, spacious two rooms upstairs, shared bathroom but not a big deal. Great living area, kitchen is very small but has everything we needed and we made it work. The backyard gardens are SO wonderful, just lovely! A bit of a shame that we couldn't use the patio lights though, but the fabulous surrounding area makes up for it as far as something to do at night. Overall, a great place to stay, we will definitely keep it mind, should we stay in Ventura again.
