Colloritto is an old farmhouse in a hill top position in the wonderful countryside west of Siena. It lies 12 Km far from Casole d’Elsa and 9 from Radicondoli, both typical medieval villages still retaining their charm and original character. Colloritto is a perfect jump off point to explore the enchanting Tuscany, including the Maremma seashore. City of art such as Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Massa Marittima are easily accessible on good roads. Colloritto was built over an Etruscan site. The place was inhabited since then. The nature lovers will enjoy walks on the nearby paths (there are no fences or barriers anywhere), and also the river reserves and wildlife sanctuaries of the area. Culinary specialities from land and sea await your discovery. The famous wine region “Chianti” is only 25 km away. Each of the two apartments has its own patio and garden, from which our guests can enjoy the panoramic views and peace.
A small pool is available.
Beside this, there are several rivers in the area (Merse, Pavone, farma and Cecina) with clean waters and good streams. The free and open thermal baths are in Petriolo, 30 km from Colloritto, where hot water flows in the river Farma, offering a hot-cold swimming option. Thermal baths with entrance fee also in Rapolano terme. A very nice public pool is in the town of Colle di Val d'Elsa.

Unique starting point for exploring rural Tuscany

Lovely hosts with great helpfulness and great tips for excursions, food and wine. A large and clean apartment with wonderful furnishings. Particularly noteworthy is the private garden area with its own small pool and fantastic views. Just be aware that for the wonderful peace and quiet of the place, you have to accept that a car is essential for all kinds of tours and restaurant visits.

Gabriele and Patricia are great, very welcoming and kind! The house is spacious, historic, and views are stunning! It gave us a real sense of Tuscany and Italy! We visited Florence, San Giminiagno, Pisa, Lucca, natural terme, etc, all short drives, day trips. If we had to have one complaint, it would be the wifi connection. But we spent most of our time outdoors anyways! We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful place and views

Great place very open and spacious. Everything was explained to us and where items were kept. We had a lovely garden area for our use only. It is out of the way, but that is what we wanted and got in spades. The sunsets were spectacular and the views were amazing. The cats were an extra special treat especially for an animal lover! We will be back. Communication was great.

Lovely hosts, great atmosphere, wonderful home away from home

We spent only 4 days in house Olmi of Gabriele and Patricia, but would have spent several days more of our holiday here, if we had known how nice it is. We came with our dog. It is possible to go hiking for more then an hour direct in the environment of the house. We enjoyed the private garden an the amazing views in the valley a lot. Tourist attractions like Volterra and San Gimignano are easily reachable by car. Siena is also within reach by car. The house has everything you can wish for to feel at home. I can recommend this house to everyone.

Colloritto is just gorgeous. Felt just like I had imagined Tuscany would feel like. The apartment is amazing and has beautiful furniture and is well equipped. The hosts were lovely and easy to deal with. If you expect a pool though be sure to enquire it is set up as I had searched and filtered properties with pools but when we arrived it wasn’t there. Would have have been pleasant on those hot evenings. Apart from this we absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a base to travel the wider Tuscany region

Excellent place to stay and to explore Tuscany

624 / 5.000 Patricia and Gabriele are wonderful hosts. The beautiful view from the garden and the outdoor dining area puts you in the perfect holiday mood. You rent the ground floor of an old house where it stays cool inside (constant 25-26°C) even when it is hot outside during the day (36°C). We explored Florence, Siena and other beautiful places in day trips and even spent a few days at the beach (1.5 hours drive). If you need any information abut the neighborhood, daytrips or just some additional tools for your kitchen, Gabriele and Patricia are very helpful. In addition, we did several bike tours, but expect some steep hills in the Tuscan countryside! So, the 3-week holiday went by way too quickly, it was lovely.

Amazing home with even more amazing views

Staying at Patrizia and Gabriele’s Tuscany farm house was more than we ever imagined. Coming from the US, we don’t have places that are 500+ years old to stay in. This house is surrounded by miles upon miles of breathtaking views of the Tuscan landscape. Just standing outside on their porch and breathing in the clean air was so refreshing. When we arrived, we were greeted by the couple that owns the home and shown around the property. They even had a bottle of wine waiting for us. The house is very roomy and comfortable. You will definitely need a car if you stay here. One of the biggest highlights of our stay was that we were only 20 mins from my favorite Italian city, Siena! Thanks Patrizia and Gabriele for sharing your remarkable piece of Tuscany with us!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Casole d'Elsa. Le logement est propre et très bien équipé, à idéale distance de tous les lieux à voir en Toscane: San Gimignano, Florence, Sienne...dans un écrin de verdure et de tranquillité. La petite piscine était un plus et les enfants en étaient ravis. La vue est à couper le souffle! Gabriel a été un hôte aux petits soins, tout en étant respectueux et discret. Um es kurz zu machen: 100% Weiterempfehlung. Sehr freundlicher Empfang, ein leckerer Rotwein als Zugabe, eine sehr geräumige und saubere Ferienwohnung sowie wunderbare Restaurants in der Umgebung (La Speranza mit seinen genialen Steaks und T-Bones als besondere Empfehlung). Da wir die ganze Woche über 30 Grad und puren Sonnenschein hatten, war der private kleine Pool mit traumhaftem Blick oftmals die letzte Rettung. Folgendes gilt jedoch zu beachten: Ein eigenes Fahrzeug ist unbedingt empfohlen, um flexibel zu sein - außer man will wirklich einfach nur an Ort und Stelle seine Seele baumeln lassen. Vielen Dank für eine schöne Woche!

Ruhe in schöner Umgebung

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Patrizia und Gabriele sehr genossen. Es ist ein schönes, sauberes typisches toskanisches Haus mit 2 separaten Wohnbereichen/anliegende Häuser und separatem Pool. Man befindet sich mitten auf dem Berg und kann die schöne Aussicht genießen. Der Pool, die Rutsche und der Traktor haben unserer Tochter sehr gut gefallen. Es gibt Restaurantempfehlungen und man kann schöne Städte und andere Erlebnisse gut mit dem Auto erreichen. Was man wissen sollte, ist das man ein Auto benötigt um irgendwo hinzukommen. Das einzige "negative" was uns aufgefallen ist, dass der WLAN- Empfang recht eingeschränkt und der Tiefkühler das Eis nicht friert.- wirklich Kleinigkeiten. Aber ansonsten unbedingt zu empfehlen! wir würden auch wieder hinfahren. Wir vermissen die Ruhe und den Ausblick jetzt schon. Vielen Dank euch beiden!

Es hat alles wunderbar geklappt und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Die Umgebung ist so, wie es auf den Postkarten immer zu sehen ist. Am entspanntesten und beeindruckendsten waren die Ausflüge in der näheren Umgebung. Hier unbedingt die Reise- und Restaurantempfehlungen des Gastgebers beachten.

Tolle Ferienwohnung und sehr nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Eine super Terrasse mit grandioser Aussicht. Kleiner, sehr sauberer Aufstellpool. Der Billardtisch ist der Knüller 👍 tolle Sehenswürdigkeiten in der näheren und etwas weiteren Umgebung. Einzig die Zufahrtsstraße ist für tiefer gelegte Autos (oder etwas überladene) eine Herausforderung. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub im August und kommen gerne wieder.

Een prachtig plekje in Toscane

We werden ontvangen door Engels sprekende gastheer en gastvrouw. Een zeer fraai en ruim onderkomen, mooi ingericht, waar het redelijk koel te houden was zonder airco. Alles was aanwezig, zelfs een wasmachine en ook Cd speler met CD's. Ook allerhande informatie over de omgeving, steden/dorpjes en wandelroutes. De ligging is fantastisch, prachtig uitzicht en vanuit huis zo het bos in. Helaas was het tijdens ons verblijf erg warm 35C, maar er was een klein zwembadje opgesteld waar wij met onze kleindochter veel plezier hadden. Wij danken Michele en zijn vrouw Patricia voor hun vriendelijke, relaxte ontvangst. Groet, familie Verheij

Ruhige und Erholsame Zeit

Sehr nette Gastgeber. Freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ideal für Ausflüge in der Umgebung. Florenz/Siena/San Gamignano/Volterra und und.. gibt soviele schöne Ecken. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben viele gute Tipps für Unternehmungen in der Umgebung erhalten, die auch in einem kleinen Ordner der Gastgeber zum Schmökern in der Ferienwohnung bereit liegen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, ruhig, auf einem Hügel mit schönem Ausblick gelegen.

Patricia und Gabriele sind sehr, sehr nett. Die Wohnung ist super sauber und sehr schön. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse ist atemberaubend und die Lage für Ausflüge gut. Wir waren mit unserem 1-Jährigen Sohn und unserem Hund dort und finden alle es war einer der schönsten Urlaube die wir je hatten.

I WAS BORN IN THE NEARBY TOWN OF COLLE DI VAL D'ELSA, WHILE PATRIZIA COMES FROM ROVIGO. WE GOT MARRIED IN SINGAPORE WHERE WE LIVED FOR 3 YEARS WHEN I WAS WORKING WITH MPS BANK.
