Stay in Venice

The property is full of character and in a lovely position on an outer island in the Venice lagoon which is deserted after all the tourists leave in the evening. The Villa is well fitted out and it has lots of outside space and very nice for having evening BQs. The bedrooms are nice and comfortable. If you want to do a lot of sight seeing it is quite a long trip into Venice but very easy to get to Burano which is a lovely island and good for an evening meal as nothing on Torcello.

Fantastic house, Fantastic Franco

As close to our ideal holiday as I can imagine. The house, the location, and the host were all wonderful. The house was beautiful, clean and of a very high standard. We would so like to stay again. Maybe in two years time. Torcello was great. Quiet and conveniently located close to Burano. In the evenings it felt as if we were on our own private island. Franco. Our host was wonderful. Easy going, helpful and very clear with needed information.

Die echte Lagune von Venedig

Wir haben traumhafte Tage auf Torchello verbracht. Das Haus von unserem Vermieter Franco ist ein kleines Schmuckstück das liebevoll gepflegt wird und super ausgestattet ist. Für kleinere Ausflüge haben wir das Boot vom Haus genommen. Nach Burano, Marzorbo oder Sant Erasmo kann das kleine Boot genommen werden. Nach Venedig ging es dann via Burano-Murano mit dem Vaporetto. Leider ist die Anbindung an den Lido z.B. nach Cavallino nicht optimal da die Boote nur bis Punta Sabione fahren und es dann noch ca. 4 km zum Strand sind. Auch ist der Weg über Venedig zum Lido etwas lang, aufwändig und für uns, mit 5 Personen, doch etwas teuer . Als Resumee möchte ich festhalten: 1. Das Haus ein Traum. 2. Ein sehr aufmerksamer und ordentlicher Vermieter. 3. Eine sehr kleine Insel mit, tagsüber, sehr vielen Touristen. Diese bekommt man eigentlich nicht mit, da der Garten vom Hauptweg fast nicht einsehbar ist. 4. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Viele Grüße, Stefano

Simply excellent.

Franco is a wonderful host. The house is exactly as described and when the day tourists leave, Torcello in the middle of the Lagoon becomes absolutely tranquil (with the exception of the neighbor AC that runs day and night).

Die ideale Oase für absolute Entspannung

Wie immer mit zuviel Gepäck, kamen wir am 10. August nachmittags mit unseren zwei Teenagern und Hund im kleinen Hafen Treporti an, wo wir unser Auto abstellen und mit dem Wasserbus nach Torcello übersetzen mußten. Nachdem wir schon in Erwägung zogen, aufgrund der schweren Gepäckstücke ( z.B. eine Reisetasche voll mit Hundefutterdosen...) mehrmals zu fahren, holte uns nach einem kurzen Informationsanruf der absolut hilfsbereite, sehr sympathische Vermieter spontan einfach mit seinem eigenen Boot kostenlos ab, was wirklich eine sehr große Erleichterung war! Nachdem uns das nette Vermieter-Ehepaar Nicolussi , das nicht auf Torcello, sondern in Venedig selbst wohnt, dann alles gezeigt hatte, waren wir allein in der wunderschön und modern restaurierten alten Villa, deren Küche bereits mit allen möglichen Grund-Lebensmitteln, inklusive Prosecco gefüllt war! Von unserem ruhigen Domizil, das mit Klimaanlage und Fliegenschutzgittern in jedem Raum ausgestattet ist und auf der Haus-Rückseite über eine große, überdachte Terrasse und einen riesigen Garten verfügt, unternahmen wir nach Lust und Laune dann unsere Ausflüge auf die Nachbarinseln Burano, Murano und Venedig. Der Hund muss bei der Fahrt mit dem Vaporetto-Wasserbus , der circa alle 20 Minuten fährt, übrigens einen Maulkorb tragen- empfiehlt sich also, einen mit einzupacken. Als wir nach einer wirklich schönen Woche entspannt nach Kroatien weiterzogen, hat uns Vermieter Franco wieder sehr tatkräftig mit seinem Boot unterstützt! Mille Grazie e arrivederci

Man will gar nicht mehr weg

Sehr schöne Villa mit riesigem Grundstück. Bei schönem Wetter ,mit dem Boot, die Lagune zu erkunden aber auch bei schlechterem Wetter am Kamin zu sitzen, oder im Pizzaofen Pizza zu backen sind ein echter Genuss. Man fühlt sich gleich von Anfang an zu Hause .

Zwei Wochen auf der Insel. Das schöne Haus, der weitläufige Garten und der sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Hausbesitzer machen den Aufenthalt zum Genuss. Vor allem abends und bis zum Eintreffen der Tagesgäste am Vormittag "gehört" einem die Insel und lässt fast vergessen, dass man selbst leider nur Feriengast ist.

Charming House

We had a great time in Torcello. Very peaceful in the evenings when all the tourist leave the island for the day. The owner, Franco, was excellent. Our son arrived a day after us, sadly his luggage was lost at airport. But with Franco's help, it arrived the next day. Definitely recommend house if you are looking to tour Venice but get away from the tourists at end of day.

What a wonderful location and home! It was like having our own lovely completely updated sanctuary!

I would highly recommend this property! Franco and his wife were so kind and hospitable. The house is stunning-modern luxuries within a historic villa complete with olive tree orchard, all tucked next to a lovely canal. The amenities were perfect and the location was fantastic. Just a five minute vaporetto from Burano -we felt as though we were on a private island -but one with restaurants, museums and a historic church. Do not pass this property up!!
