This is my 4th stay at Valhalla MD WHEN I walk in, I feel like I am home. It is so cozy, so well equipped, my dog loves it and the big flat fully fenced in yard makes him so happy! Everything is just perfect and I am really sad when it is time to leave.
This cottage is perfection. Everything you could possibly need or want is there for you. I was sad having to leave but knowing I am already booked for next spring helped!!
We visit this area almost yearly, and this was the best rental we have had. The house has everything you could possibly need for you and your family. The area is very quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The sunsets are incredible!
This cottage has a terrific set up for our family. Bed rooms are great.. very comfortable bedding. Kitchen is stocked so nicely. Our favorite part is the back screened in room. Perfect gathering space for our meals and games. 2nd time staying here :)
Stayed here for my daughter'college graduation. Great place. Extremely clean. Right by the lake...the hosts gave us access to everything such as bikes. Easy checkin and out. Hosts wre available for questions
Definitely would stay here again.
We can't say enough good things about our experience. The cottage is cozy, clean, well-appointed, quiet, and a perfect place for bringing pups. Our experience was delightful. Rachel was extremely responsive and resolved a minor issue almost immediately-on Thanksgiving Day, no less! The location is amazing; less than a minute to the shoreline. We have no complaints. What a wonderful stay!
enjoyed our stay very much. wish we had information on running the tv, locking the door. we were not aware we were to supply our own toilet paper. Beautiful cottage!!!

Glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the feedback! We really appreciate it, as we are always looking for ways to improve our cottage and provide a better experience for our guests. First time anyone mentioned these, but we have added for ready use step by step guides on how to use the cable company provided TV remote controls, how to lock/unlock doors, and four rolls of toilet paper should be a good start for anyone. Thanks again and hope to have you back!
Great property. Steps from the lake, bald eagle sightings daily, walk to the beach, beautiful sunsets and sunrises from the same vantage point, comfortable and clean.
We were just looking for a place to sleep while we took care of family - but it turned out we enjoyed the place a lot. Highly recommended.
This property was just amazing for our family. There were 6 adults a 2yr old and 2 under a year. We loved the set up. The property owner has thought of everything to make your stay here incredible comfortable. The back room was perfect for gathering, eating, and playing games. Beds were comfortable and entire home very clean.
The cottage has everything needed for a family to enjoy the lake during the summer! It was nice not to have to bring our own bikes this year. The cottage has ample AC units that kept the cottage comfortable while it was unseasonably hot. Highly recommend!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful cozy cottage. We loved every minute we were there. Especially having our breakfast buffets in the enclosed sunroom. We also gathered in the sunroom in the evenings to play board games. The cottage is fully furnished; from utensils and mixing bowls to extra pillows and blankets to lots of games and bikes. The community was quiet and we felt safe. The town of Dunkirk is close by and provides many shopping needs. Your cottage is back on our list for another visit.
This is our 3rd time at this property in 4 years...and already booked for next year My previous review can be seen and nothing has changed. Excellent and receptive hosts, perfect property and location. I happily watered the new grass 1-2x/day to help keep it looking great! We just love this place and I hope my great reviews don't return to bite me by making it harder to book it !! We are talking about even an off season visit
this was my 3rd stay at Valhalla and everything about it is so perfect and comfortable I feel like I am home there. The vibe is like nothing I have experienced in any of my travels, and I have done a lot of traveling! It is clean, cozy, relaxing, well equipped, I cannot say one negative thing about this lovely home. Already looking into booking two trips next year!
Valhalla is perfection. It is clean, cozy, has a big beautiful fenced in backyard, a fire pit, comfy furniture, comfy beds, really everything you could possibly think of that you might need while there, they have it. I cannot come up with one negative thing about it. I love this house so much I have it booked two more times this year! And Rachel, the host, is awesome. She is very easy to reach, very responsive, and just so friendly. l
This place was wonderful! There was more than enough room for my family. We hosted Thanksgiving in the large porch area which worked very well. The kitchen is well stocked. There were games for the kids to play in the side room. Overall a great experience!
Great place to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family. Cozy, comfortable and clean. Lots of space to hangout and catchup, play games and watch movies, and nap! Highly recommend this spot.
We are a group of teachers who take a yearly retreat weekend. We had a relaxing time enjoying daily walks, nights by the campfire and memorable dinners on the back porch. Looking forward to our next visit.
The property has owners who really thought of everything....and some benefits that aren't noted in the listing! There is actually another bedroom upstairs with a twin bed...that room has no AC but the window opens and the nights were cool...there are fans as well. The loft room has it's own wall AC, and off the loft room is a little sitting room with a pull out loveseat. Each bedroom downstairs has it's own AC, and there are actually 2 standing AC units....one in kitchen and one in the rec room. My wife slept in the non-AC bedroom upstairs, my 10 year old and I shared the loft, my sister took the MBR and 18 year old the other room....the 15 year old loved having the rec room to himself....pull out sofa, a TV, his own AC and a mini-fridge....and a bookcase full of games, cards, books and more.
The yard is fenced in and flat. The back porch is perfect and we spent a lot of time there.....I took pics as it's exactly how I want to cover my patio. The shed is LOADED....9 bikes (!!) including a tandem, beach chairs, beach toys, a wagon to lug things to the beach, umbrella, lots of yard games, boogie and skim boards.....even marshmallow sticks and log grabber for the firepit. The bay is one house away.
VBP is where we went as children, and I was planning on relaxing and expecting the kids to be bored. Nope...the vote was unanimous....we ALL want to return next year and this house is where we plan to stay. Honestly, the owners could not have done any more besides come and tuck us all in at night. Now I just have to find a way to convince them to sell it to me.......
Thanks guys for one of the best vacations my family has had.
