Dream Cabin in the Pines with A/C and HOT TUB!!

Tucked away in a serene community about ten minutes south of downtown Flagstaff, the Kona Cabin is a great place for a quick weekend retreat or an extended getaway. With a beautiful and large outdoor patio area, the whole family can enjoy the clean, crisp air of the mountains and an evening under the stars while sitting around the gas firepit or in the hot tub.

A welcoming greatroom greets guests as they enter the home. With vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, and comfortable furniture, guests feel right at home as soon as they walk through the door. Just off the greatroom is a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and everything you need to cook a delicious meal. Just off the kitchen is a deck with an outdoor grill where you can spend the summer afternoons prepping dinner after a long day of exploring everything the area has to offer.

The Kona Cabin features four bedrooms and two and a half baths spread out over three floors. Two of the bedrooms feature king beds, one has a twin over full bunk bed, and one features a queen sized bed. The Kona Cabin is the perfect place to visit while exploring everything Northern Arizona and Flagstaff have to offer, including neighborhood access to forest lands and hiking trails that make it easy to enjoy a relaxing stroll in northern Arizona’s beautiful high country.

You will be just minutes from I-17, I-40, and a variety of dining and shopping options. The Arizona Snowbowl is a quick half-hour drive, and offers world class skiing at a family friendly resort. One of the seven Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon, is just over an hour’s drive north, providing some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. A multitude of activities are also available at the Canyon, including helicopter rides, donkey rides and hiking.

Be sure to ask for advice on hiking or cycling trips, ski/snowboard lessons and rentals, cross country ski and snowshoe trails, sledding areas, as well as any of the dozens of Flagstaff area attractions.

We had great communication as we approached our stay. We were very confident the check-in process would be easy and it was. The only issue was the weather and the host suddenly changed the thermostat setting from cool to heat for us since the temperature got down to 58 overnight.It’s a beautiful home in the woods at about 6800 foot elevation. There is plenty of room for up to five cars in the parking area. The kitchen is well done and easy to use. It was a rainy weekend so we didn’t get to use the outside deck or hot tub. But I’m sure you’ll enjoy that if you come here.The master bedroom is wonderful. The bed is extremely comfortable, lots of room, and the bathroom looks like a magazine ad.The beds were comfortable all around. It rained all weekend and it was very humid. Due to this the basement bedroom was a little musty. But that was our only complaint for the weekend.All of our guests had a great weekend and we will look for this property the next time we’re coming through Flagstaff.

Everything was perfect! The hot tub was preheated, the house was very clean, and plenty of space for all of us. The host was very quick in communicating with us and accommodating with a change in the amount of people in our group. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the best place for a getaway for the month of July from the Phoenix heat! It's clean, spacious, great backyard if bringing a dog and not too far from shopping, lakes and restaurants in Flagstaff. Also, very friendly neighborhood. We would highly recommend this one!

Overall, the house felt clean and was a decent place to stay, though it wasn’t one of our favorites.

My biggest complaint is that I never received check-in instructions and on the day I was to check-in I could not locate my host. I had to call VRBO who eventually got contact information for check-in which was about 2.5 hours process. With check-in time at 5pm and a 2 hour drive to get there we decided not pursue the drive as we would have not gotten there before 9pm at night. This proved to be a good decision as when we did arrive the next day the code would not open the door...we tried to call the host (don't bother as they don't answer and instead send you to email) someone did try to help via email. Gave us code to lock box but that did not open the lock box. Then gave us a code to go through the garage which that did work. Communicating via email is a bit slower process than just picking up the phone and talking with someone. For the most part the cabin was good, however it does need some TLC..the bathroom shower handle is broken off (the other shower head worked fine) and a lamp was broken...nothing major just a few little fixes. Pet owners---please pick up after your dogs so the next renter doesn't have to. It is nice that there are places you can take your dog so please be respectful of the cleaners and the next renters and pick up what's left behind by your pet.

Great house/cabin in quiet neighborhood

We had a short stay but it was spectacular. Great place for family stay after visiting the Grand Canyon. All amenities were as expected but maybe bring a couple extra blankets if your warm blooded :-), plenty of room but cozy and nice areas to hang out together. Nice updated bathrooms and great kitchen, would definitely stay again

Great location tucked away in the woods but super close to the highway leading to stores, canyons and Sedona. Clean and stocked, very large space great for big groups. Everything you need to enjoy a quiet time away from everything else.

Week long stay

This was an exceptionally large home, which was needed. Note on linen closet stated "not for guests". Extra towels were needed Toilet on main level very slow to flush, it was plunged on Friday every time it was used.

Sons NAU graduation

Went for our son NAU graduation, way better than a hotel. The house was beautiful,clean, & everything that was on the listing right on point. Beautiful location in the mountains of Flagstaff,Az, short drive to NAU. Beautiful neighborhood that this house is at. I would definitely love to book this again.

Okay place

It was missing some features that we found in other VRBOs. Master bed was way too soft, and master shower couldn't control temperature.

Alan I'm so sorry you didn't find the house to be perfect! I know everyone has different bed tastes - we do have all different mattress brands in the house and 4 bedrooms, so people can choose the right fit for them! The master shower has 2 instant hot water heaters, one for each showerhead, so they are both fully independent and adjustable to your tastes!
