Le Manoir Des Fouilloux is a beautifully restored, charming 15th century Manor House surrounded by private garden and has its own salt water swimming pool, hot tub and gym. The property has been lovingly restored by its owners. All the rooms are on the ground level making this an excellent location for anyone with mobility issues. There are numberous entertaining spaces which include a unique Moroccan courtyard and outdoor kitchen and dining space. The views and surrounding countyside provide the perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries.
Located in the Dronne valley, the house is ideally situated within easy reach of both Bordeaux (1 hours drive) and Bergerac (45 minutes drive) and the wonderful wine regions of the area.
The house sleep 8, with the an additional sofa bed.
There is a master suite consisting of a bedroom with a queen size four poster bed. Leading from that is a dressing room which can also double as a bedroom for a child. There is also an en-suite wet room. The suite has a fireplace and seating area and also direct access to a private terrace with wonderful views over the tranquil valley.
The garden suite has a super king bed, a seating area with fireplace and an en-suite wet room.
The courtyard bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite shower room and has lovey views into the courtyard.
The beautifully panelled sitting room features a stunning fireplace and has comfortable seating for 8 peoeple. It's a wonderfully spacious place to entertain. There is a TV with freeview channels.
The kitchen, featuring a beautiful stone fireplace has everything you will need, including dishwasher, American style fridge freezer with ice machine and a seperate wine fridge. The centre piece of the room is a farmhouse kitchen table that seats 10 people. There is a separate laundry room which also has additional chilling space for wine and food.

The Chinese dining room in the house seats 10 and has double doors opening onto the Moroccan courtyard.
The partaire terrace at the front of the house has outdoor sofas and a separate dining area. The terrace commands uninterrupted 180 degree views over the Valley.
The Moroccan courtyard is a peaceful, enclosed oasis and is styled on the jardin de Marjorelle in Marrakesh. The open covered "Moroccan Den" has a fully fitted kitchen with built in barbecue, dishwasher and additional chilling space. There is sofa seating for 8 and a separate dining area for up to 12.
The beautifuly maintained garden features a pool terrace with salt water pool and loungers for 8 people and is drenched by the sun all day long. It is surrounded by herbaceous boarders and rose beds. The outer garden contains a hot tub, orchard and large grassed open areas. There is a kitchen garden. The garden is enclosed providing a secure environment.
The owners have spent 5 years restoring the house to delux hotel standards enhancing the remarkable features of the property. Both of the ownerers have retired from successful careers in hospitality in London. They also bring with them a wealth of experience gained through international travel over many years, particularly in the USA.
Le Manoir is situated within five minutes drive of the Bastide town of St. Aulaye where there is a bakery, cafe, pharmacy and supermarket. The town is on the river Dronne with river swimming and kayak hire. There is also a good beach bar for casual dining.
The wine regions are within easy reach: St. Emillion (35 minutes drive), Bergerac (45 minutes drive), and Bordeaux (1 hours drive).
Aubeterre, one of Frances most picturesque villages is 10 minutes Drive and has a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops positioned around the pretty main square. The village is a magnet for artists and potters.
For those looking for fine dining there are two Michelle star restaurants within easy reach. The Moulin De L'Abbaye and the Moulin Du Roc in Brantome are both exquisite places to dine and is only 50 kilometres drive away.

Hugh worked at, St. Bartholomew’s hospital, The Royal Marsden, Kings College Hospital and Newham University Hospital.
Both Hugh and Ian are passionate about food, gardening, interior design, working with nature to secure a sustainable footprint in rural France. They love art, music and allow creativity to be a dominant factor in their lives. They have travelled extensively worldwide and understand what the true meaning of first class service is.
