Black Hills Bungalow (aka. The Bungalow)
NOTE: For our guests who need to mix computer work with vacation pleasure - The Bungalow's WiFi is supported by a fiber-optics system from Centurylink. At a rated speed of 86 Mbps, CenturLink offers a high-speed, reliable internet connection.
Private, quiet and chocked full of diversity!! Enjoy all types of bird and wildlife viewing, including turkey, deer and elk. The Bungalow offers a magnificent location for the outdoor enthusiast, yet, centrally located for easy access to all Black Hills attractions. Rapid City is 30 miles, Deadwood is 15 miles and Sturgis is 25 miles. Essentially all attractions are located within a one-hour drive. Located on 54-privately-owned acres, the Bungalow also offers access to the Black Hills National Forest ….. a one-million-acre, public "playground" for your outdoor enjoyment!
Explore the diversity of the Black Hills! Summertime fun includes all types of recreational activities ….. mountain biking via the 111-mile Centennial Trail (eight miles from the Bungalow), “easy” bicycling / hiking via the 109-mile Mickelson Trail (nine miles from the Bungalow), four-wheeling via the extensive Black Hills ATV / UTV road system and, of course, hiking, camping and fishing. The Black Hills has an extensive lake and stream system, for leisure activities and the fishing enthusiast. Further, Reausaw Lake is only a short walk away. This small lake is owned by the South Dakota Game & Fish Department and stocked with trout for excellent catching success, especially for the young angler. Or, if you enjoy fly fishing, you can access our private pond, stocked with Rainbow, Tiger, Brown and Snake River Cutthroat trout (some restrictions apply).
AND, the owners of the Bungalow, Doug & Denise Miller, are readily available to make your stay completely enjoyable. The Millers believe in customer service and will give you individual and immediate attention. Try getting that degree of personal attention from a property management firm!
The Millers are looking forward to your stay!
PS. And, how do past guests think the Millers have taken care of them? The Bungalow has NUMEROUS positive reviews. Further, the ultimate in customer satisfaction is the number of repeat guests. During 2023 and 2024, the Bungalow was rented a total of 103 nights and 109 nights, respectively. Further, for 2023 and 2024, 49 nights and 54 nights, respectively, were booked by past guests. To summarize....for 2023, 47.6% of reservations were by returning guests and for 2024, 49.5% of reservations were by returning guests. Thus, the Millers are indeed serious about customer satisfaction!!
The Bungalow is located in a building, which was built in 2004. This apartment (aka. the Bungalow) was used by us, for three years, during the construction of our home. The 600-square-foot Bungalow has a private entrance and consists of one, large room, with a separate, full bathroom. The large room consists of: 1) a bedroom with a king, Tempurpedic-brand mattress, 2) a fully, furnished kitchen, which includes a full-sized refrigerator, smooth-topped stove and microwave, (Note: Does not include a dishwasher, washer or dryer), 3) a 50” HDTV with satellite TV, a surround-sound system and a DVD player, with lots of DVDs and 4) other apartment amenities. The Bungalow is well stocked, for your convenience, which will make your stay, truly, your “home-away-from-home.” Also included is a Weber propane grill, picnic table, a horseshoe pit, a fire pit and other outdoor-activity opportunities. NOTE: A) The Bungalow is located in a detached building, about 70’ from our home. Although we will be in close proximity to each other, rest assured you will receive the highest-level of consideration, when it comes to your privacy and the quietness of your surroundings. B) From Nemo Road, access to the Bungalow is via ¼-mile of well-maintained, gravel road. C) If you plan on “trailing” ATVs, UTVs or a motorcycle to the Black Hills, rest assured our property has plenty of space for trailer parking. D) The Bungalow is equipped with a land-line phone, which is shared with the hosts. Domestic, long-distance calls and the wireless internet are included, at no additional charge. FYI, due to the mountainous-terrain in our area, cell-phone service, OUTSIDE the Bungalow, does not exist. However, INSIDE the Bungalow, WiFi calling is available via a smart phone.

The Bungalow was everything it was advertised to be. The property is beautiful and the location was perfect for us. We will definitely recommend to others and would definitely stay there again.
Denise & Doug are wonderful hosts. Fresh homemade cookies are waiting for their guests. This is our 2nd time at The Bungalow, and it will be our home away from home when visiting the Black Hills. Hope to see you both real soon.
We have stayed at a few VRBO's now, and this one is the best so far. It had just what we were looking for...quiet place to sleep, but not far from the local sights we wanted to see. The hosts asked us several times if there was anything we needed...but the bungalow was so well stocked that we did not need anything more, after purchasing our own groceries. There was a welcome plate of cookies that were delicious! What a great stay!
The Bungalow was the perfect spot in the Black Hills. We had good access to the trail system and the privacy of the property was nice. Doug and Denise were awesome hosts. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would recommend staying here.
The property is beautiful. What a great place to stay. We enjoyed hiking every day here. The hosts are amazing. We hope to spend a lot more time at this place in the future!

Hosts Doug and Denise were awesome The location allowed us to directly access the ATV trails easily. We will definitely be back!
Place was immaculate. Host was very forthcoming in making sure all was well, while providing privacy. The property was located in an excellent area which provided ample amount of scenic drives. Came here for 85th Sturgis Rally, and couldn’t be happier with selecting the Bungalow as homebase!
perfect spot tucked away with beautiful gardens and scenery. Hosts were spectacular going above and beyond. If visiting South Dakota this is perfect spot in the middle of the beauty. Bungalow was clean and bed was super soft. It was well stocked with all the necessities - sugar-coffee - spices - bags- foil...would definitely stay here again. thank you both so Much !!
We stayed there June 22 - June 28 2025. The place was excellent for the 2 of us. Very clean, everything there that we needed. Kitchen had everything that one needs to cook. Grill was great. Owners were very accomodating with everything. We enjoyed our stay so much and will definitely recommend this to anyone
They have thought of everything you could need. Perfectly clean with lots of room inside and out. Great communication and price is good. Property is like a park. Great stay. Recommend it fully.
This place was wonderful to stay at. It is kind of in between everything but away from the touristy stuff. We walked the property, 50 acres, in the evening to unwind. Our hosts were the best kind of people. The bungalow had everything you might want. The only thing you need to bring is your food. We made dinner in most nights. Just a very nice place to stay.
The bungalow was clean and equipped with anything needed. It is in a beautiful setting close to many South Dakota attractions. The hosts were very accommodating. We will return and stay there again. I give this property a 10 out of 10.
The whole place is immaculate!!!!! Doug and Denise are “hard hard”working people!!! I really appreciate the way they take pride in their property. I will return!!!!!
