It was just the time of the year the blue bells bloom, it was wonderfull. The cottage was perfect as also the surrounding. We have had a pretty stay in this wonderfull part of England
This was a very comfortable place to stay in a peaceful surrounding. The car was essential for getting to fine pubs, grocery store, and the nearby towns of Folkestone and Dover. We just loved it.
Our journey from Australia to swim the channel led us to this peaceful countryside haven. The accommodation was immaculately clean, well-appointed, and provided us with the perfect retreat. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a tranquil getaway.
The house has a large kitchen, dining area and sitting area. There are also two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
During breakfast you will see gray squirrels, pheasants and even a fox in the park's landscaped garden.
The house is centrally located to Dover and Folkstone. It is recommended to eat at Marquis or Granby. Distance 1.6 miles.
Beautiful places to visit are Sandwich, Lenham, Chilham, Chatham, The white cliffs of Dover,
Dover Castle, Canterbury, Leeds Castle, Pahsley Manor Gardens
Advice: A good update of the navigation is recommended.
This property is in a lovely wooded location and very quiet. Its well appointed and comfortable. Its not for feint hearted. They have a huge colony of bats in the roof space which start appearing at dusk. Its lovely if youlike that sort of thing as we do. Keep the windows closed and you will be fine, open them and you may have a flighty friend in your bedroom, as we did.

Dear Jackie,
Really glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
The bats are a highly protected and harmless species, which makes it very difficult to find them a new home, having said this they tend to only appear for a number of weeks around the time of year you stayed. In any case, the owners are looking into what the possible options are to find them another home!
Kind regards,
Tim.
Well presented cottage with beautiful grounds attached. We did not expect our very own bluebell wood. Birdsong only sound to be heard for much of the day, ideal setting if you want a quiet location. Access up very narrow and steep lanes may be a problem for some, perhaps not for those looking for a lively night life. The nearby gastro pub, the Marquis of Granby is excellent for food and atmosphere.
Tony and Lillian could not have been more charming or helpful hosts. We spent 10 weeks at Grooms Cottage with our whippet and enjoyed lovely scenic walks and cosy evenings in with Netflix on the great tv! Kitchen and bathrooms excellent, all the mod cons . Very importantly the beds were very comfortable and lovely linen and towels.
A perfect place to relax.
The cottage is in a lovely peaceful setting with great walks and huge open fields and a wonderful night sky. Well situated to get to various places of interest such as Great Dexter and Sissinghust and very comfortable and fairly well equipped but could do with a colander. The only problem we had were with the couple and their dog in the adjoining rental cottage. They did not keep him on a lead and he came up very close and barked constantly at us plus he was left alone for periods at a time which I don’t think helped his behaviour. They said he didn’t like other people but this meant we couldn’t really use the shared outside terrace and lawn area as he was really anti social. I love dogs but ones under control of the owner and normally one should not be able to leave dogs on their own in the property.

Nice and quiet
Very nice place. Cottage has all things you need for a nice vacation. Very nice surrounding and rural area, but only 15 minutes away from Dover. Could have been much better if it would have been properly cleaned.

Dear Herbert,
Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry to hear the cleaning wasn’t quite up to standard, however, if we had been made aware of the situation on your arrival, this could have been rectified from the start.
Happy to hear all else was well-received.
Kind regards,
Tim

Enjoyed the peace and quiet
The only interruption to the peace and quiet was the sound of horses, birds, squirrels and foxes.
