This is the most delightful gem of a property and I wouldn't hesitate to return one day. It was beautifully clean, very spacious and equipped with everything you could ever need and very comfortable. It is situated in the most relaxing and beautiful grounds and we enjoyed every minute of our stay there
Had a lot of mid paint renovation going on - so it wasnt quite as clean as expected - little things like missing plumbing parts in the downstairs bathroom occurred. Overall very quiet and the wood burning stove was great.
This home and land is like stepping back in time except with all modern conveniences. We had such a good time sitting on the back porch and walking the nearby trails plus we were so near (yet not too near) delicious food and quaint New England spots like north Bennington and Arlington. We highly recommend this spot if you love nature, history and comfort.

The property was in the middle of a remodel when we got there. The host had explained to me before arrival that this would be happening. When we arrived, though, it was in a little more disarray than I anticipated. I chatted the host that we were uncomfortable and would like to leave, and she was amazing. She granted a full refund (which she did not have to do). The property itself is gorgeous, and in a beautiful, remote setting. I am certain that out situation was simply because of the construction.
It is a large property and a big house. We enjoyed every room! We also hiked through their woodland trail and saw the huge famous oak tree. I enjoyed the goats!
What a beautiful property! Our family loved our stay. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive.

We were disappointed with our ten-night stay at this historic Vermont farmhouse. The owner notified us the day before arrival that a kitchen renovation was underway, but the property felt unfinished and inadequately prepared for guests. The housekeeper was still working at check-in, and we encountered crumbs in drawers and on surfaces, cobwebs and dead insects, cleaning products left in guest areas, and trash and soiled towels in the fireplace. All bedroom closets were locked, leaving very limited space to unpack and organize clothing for a ten-day stay. Kitchen window treatments had been removed and were not replaced, and renovation materials and unpacked items remained in living areas. We also experienced several interruptions from deliveries and maintenance work during our stay.On the positive side, the farmhouse has historic charm, beautiful acreage, and two delightful goats on the neighboring property. However, the overall condition of the home and the ongoing work detracted significantly from our experience. We would have appreciated a property that was fully cleaned, prepared, and ready for guests before check-in.
Our family very much enjoyed the charm of the farmhouse and the bucolic landscapes. We found the property as described in the listing and had great time. Hope to be back.
Our stay at the 200 year old farmhouse was nothing but spectacular! The house was peaceful, fully stocked, beautifully decorated, and offered moments of quiet mindfulness. My family and I will be returning again for another visit!
We enjoyed staying in the beautiful house. There's a great back porch with a table that was perfect for family meals in the summer. The host responded quickly to all my messages. Everything went smoothly.
My sister and our husbands came from Florida to Vermont to enjoy the fall foliage. We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful farmhouse. It was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the back swing and looking at the views. The kitchen was well supplied. The beds were comfortable. I definitely recommend this place.
We enjoyed staying at the farmhouse, and the experience was wonderful. Everything about this property was perfect, from the beautiful rural surroundings to the comfortable and well-appointed accommodations.
I would recommend this farmhouse to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat. This property is worth considering if you're looking for a charming and tranquil getaway.
The home is lovely and cozy. We were there during a deep Arctic blast but spent a lovely day by the fire with a book and watched the sun sparkle on the snow outside. Drove about 45 minutes to Mt Snow for a fantastic day of snowboarding. Highly recommend!
Beautiful property with everything you'll need for your stay. Clean and cozy. The property had so much to offer for my younger kids while the older kids were out snowboarding. We hope to book again next year. Thank you Susan!
This December visit has turned into a tradition! We leave completely regenerated and ready to take on the holidays and the new year! We bopped around to different towns, hiked up the mountain and enjoyed the grounds and I cooked amazing measles in this kitchen! Thank you for everything!!
My 80 yr old mom had not been back to Vermont since 1996, and she loved every minute of our stay here. The farmhouse is quaint and charming and only 20 mins from town. The furniture and accommodations were terrific - my mom could not make it up the stairs, but she was delighted with how comfortable the couch was! This place is a fabulous getaway, and we could not have been happier.
The farmhouse was everything it's cracked up to be. The host was super-thoughtful. She went out of her way to make our stay smooth and pleasant. The property exceeded all of our expectations. Off the beaten path and yet reachable, this gem of a farmhouse made for great memories for me and my family.
We loved our 3 night stay here at the farmhouse. Cozy, yet spacious with a beautiful view off he back deck. Mornings with coffee on the deck were so peaceful. We’d hear the occasional bleating of goats next door - quite the characters they are. My daughter and her friend absolutely loved the house from the second they walked in and insisted we come back next year. Kitchen had all the necessary cooking items and even some spices etc. Check in/out was a breeze. Communication was easy. Hope to return next year.
Our stay was nothing short of magical! This home was beyond our expectation! This charming property is a walk back in time to another era. The original features of the farm are beautifully intact with all the modern comforts you would expect. We enjoyed strolling around the yard, listening to the brook and taking in the sight of the mist in the mountains. This home was convenient to Bennington and the surrounding area.
We loved our time here and we cannot wait to return! What a treat! Susan is a lovely host and answered our messages promptly.
Lovely home! Tranquility at it's finest! Babbling brook going through the back yard! Family enjoyed cooking meals together in a huge kitchen! Enjoyed fires in the wood burning stove! Enjoyed the scenery hiking the 45 arce property. Enjoyed interacting with the goats, chickens, and ducks next door. 9 and 11 y/o had a blast. Host of the property was very accessible to whatever we needed! Our check out day we visited historic Bennington (historic street from the revolutionary war era). I can go on and on! Thank you for sharing your home!
The home itself and the property were gorgeous, our stay was easy in terms of finding the property and checking in. The host was very communicative and friendly, as were all of the people we met during our stay. The kids enjoyed running around outside and saying hello to the goats. The only downside was that the home was very dirty. There was mold in the bathroom, and the kitchen was kind of gross, most things were covered in an almost greasy film. I understand farmhouse charm, and I don’t have really high standards having kids, but I did clean any dishes we used before using them due to the grime, and we definitely left the kitchen cleaner than we found it. If you don’t mind hanging with dirt and spiders, it’s otherwise a really great place.
