The cottage is very well equipped and maintained. We were lucky to have a few very hot days when we would have appreciated a little shade in which to sit outside, but who can tell with the British weather. We enjoyed walking from the cottage most days and also loved watching the antics of the sheep in the field opposite the cottage.
Hare cottage was a sweet and peaceful place to stay to take in this part of the country. A nice place to relax during a very busy week of daytrips to Stonehenge and Weston super-mare and even Caerphilly Castle in Wales. Nicely located, close enough to enjoy the markets and attractions in Bath whilst enjoying the quiet countryside of the evening and waking up to incredible misty scenes across the fields and valleys. The cottage itself was excellent and faultless and the host is exteemely welcoming and friendly.
The property is provided with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay and is ideally situated; far enough away from noisy roads yet handy for Bath, Bristol and other attractions. If hilly walking/running is your thing, you could do no better than stay here. Highly recommended.
Just come back from a lovely stay at Hare Cottage. Views are spectacular (rolling hills, sheep and great views of Bath and Bristol). Bottle of wine was an extra surprise. Good selection of walks and easy access to Bath and Bristol via Park and Ride. Best place for lunch and snacks the Bath Cheese Company. Delicious homemade soup and Quiches had lunch there four days (just down the road). Very relaxing holiday. Just one little thing the Microwave could do with an update otherwise perfect.
Hare Cottage provides excellant views of the country side to the west of the property. Hot air balloons can be seen drifting across the landscape as far Bristol and the lights on the Seven Bridge may be seen during the hours of darkness. The Round Hill behind the cottage provides a much higher viewpoint in all directions as you walk around the small wood at it's peak. The access road from Kelston is quite steep and serves as part of the local footpath network which radiates from the higher ground behind. This was our second holiday at Hare Cottage and it was equally enjoyable as our first holiday especially for the local wildlife, which seems to be attracted to the cottage.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in dieser reizenden Unterkunft genossen. Die Aussicht ist traumhaft und das Klima gut.George als Vermieter sehr nett.Die Wohnung hat alles was man braucht
Second time we have stayed this year, the cottage is in a wonderful spot overlooking Bristol and the surrounding district. The cottage as shown in the five star rating we have given it could not be any better.
Great host. Wonderful location. Well appointed accommodation. Conveniently situated for both Bath and Bristol. We're definitely planning a return visit.
Originally booked for New Year 2020/2021, cancelled due to covid, I finally got my week away this year and wow it was worth the wait.
Booking was easy as was rebooking, George the owner made it so simple.
Upon arrival the table was set for afternoon tea and cake with starters of tea, coffee, milk and cake provided. There was wine and glasses on the coffee table ready for a relaxing evening by the Christmas tree and log effect fire.
The kitchenette had everything needed for making perfect meals from full english breakfast through to a full roast dinner. Nothing was forgotten although I prefer steamed veg to boiled, luckily I had a steamer with me (I travel a lot and a steamer is rarely provided).
The Whirlpool Bath was a great way to relax after going out exploring the area. The cottage gives a feeling of remoteness with its panoramic views yet only half a mile off the beaten track and within reach of Bath, Bristol, Wells, Cheddar and Weston-super-Mare. Also there are plenty of walking opportunities with Kelston Round Hill offering 360° views and the Cotswold Way close by.
After long or short days filled energetic or relaxed activities one needs a good night's sleep. Well I wasn't disappointed. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in away from home, for me it was the right height from the floor, the right firmness, and the perfect tog rating for a good night's sleep.
There was a couple of days that I didn't go anywhere, that was always my plan, so the views were really appreciated. Watching all the fireworks on New Year's Eve, from the verandah and from the window, across the wider Bristol area was fantastic, and with a couple of mild days it was great to sit out, take in the fresh air and the views, with coffee and cake.
I called George for some advice one evening, he came round straight away, we had a good chat, very friendly. It was reassuring to know that he was there if needed yet not in your face all the time. A lovely family man for sure.
I will certainly be returning to this cottage in the near future.
When we arrived the cottage was welcoming with the light on and wine at the ready. During our stay we found everything we needed had been supplied. Ideally suited and very comfortable for two. We were lucky with the weather and could make the most of the fabulous view. Very happy to recommend.
We holidayed w/c 19th September 2020.
Nice cottage (we stayed in 'Hare') with stunning views into the valley to the West. You can see the lights on the Severn Bridge at night.
Very relaxing place to stay with enough amenities to allow for a decent self-catering experience. We mostly ate out in local pubs during our stay (apart from breakfast and the odd lunch) but the cottage features enough kit to allow you to have your meals indoors if you wish.
We can highly recommend the food in the Old Crown Inn and the Upton Inn, the former being within a10-15 minute walk of the cottage and the latter about a 10 minute drive. We also ate in the Swan and the Jolly Sailor, and had very good food in all of them, with a wide choice of gluten free options in each.
The cottage is ideally situated for walks in the area and is very close to the Round Hill, a very popular spot for walkers.
Overall would highly recommend to others for a relaxing and very scenic holiday.
We had a great tune at this property - we couldn’t believe how conveniently situated it was to Bath!
The place has everything you need to feel at home. It’s clean, cosy and the little addition of soft and fruity wine and vienesse whirls was a great touch.
We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.
Thanks
Lovely accommodation, clean and bright with wonderful views. Short drive to Bath and Bristol.
Easy and strait forward, would definitely recommend this property.

Excellent cottage.
Really lovely cottage clean and well looked after, with fantastic views, and walks, friendly owners. Easy access to Bath, Bristol and various national trust properties. Tyntesfield was a truly stunning place to visit. Made even more special by the small owl that sat on the chimney each night.
