About this property
Views over open farmland ideally situated for exploring the Suffolk coast
Set back from the road. Built circa 1750, this traditional timber-framed cottages has been carefully renovated and fitted out to a high standard to offer comfortable accommodation whilst retaining many original features such as oak beams, wattle and daub walls and a bread oven.
One of two adjoining cottages available to rent, No 9 is a cosy cottage that sleeps 3-4 people and is available for stays of 3 nights or more. Because of the limitations on how we can set prices on this site please ask for a quote for short stays of between 4-6 nights so that we can apply a discount.
On the ground floor is the living/dining room. Has two comfortable sofas around an open fire, perfect for cosy winter evenings. There is a dining area to one side. The small well-equipped kitchen also has a microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. There is a small worktop freezer located in the cupboard in the living room.
The shower room and toilet are also on the ground floor.
On the first floor, there are two bedrooms with views to the front. The second bedroom which is accessed through the main bedroom has a single bed plus a pull out second bed when required both beds have sprung mattresses. Blackout blinds are fitted at the windows.
At the back is a small semi-enclosed garden set out with a garden table and chairs where you can enjoy the fabulous view over open farmland. The cottages are located in a village just outside the Blyth valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We love the slower pace of life, the relaxed atmosphere, and the great local produce.
The village has a family and dog-friendly pub that serves good food and a good local shop where basic supplies can be bought. Both are within a short walk from the cottages.
The cottage offers an ideal location for exploring the Suffolk coastal area and delving deeper into the Suffolk countryside.
Please Note: As is fairly common of workers cottages of this age the ceiling height is low with some low beams (less than 6ft). The Stairs are also quite steep so are not suitable for people with mobility issues.
