About this property
Forest, Spa, Dog Friendly, Great Location!
Welcome to The Grove, a world of privacy, with redwood-covered ridgetops above and redwood forests below. Perched on a hill above the Russian River, The Grove is an amenity-loaded haven for your Sonoma County stay.
Is BBQing your thing? The Grove has a lovely back deck equipped with a large gas grill, outdoor dining table, bistro seating, wine barrel gas fire pit, all arranged to maximize the redwood and partial river views. Or, do you want to watch the big game? The home theatre system, with 120 inch projector screen and surround sound, is great for watching sports and movies. Looking forward to a soak in the Hot Tub? Climb into the secluded spa and look up and you will see how The Grove got its name: you are surrounded by a fairy ring of towering 175 foot redwood trees that lead your gaze to the stars.
Is Gourmet Coffee your passion? Treat yourself to a European style espresso with a Nespresso pod, a cup of French Press drip or Pour Over freshly ground beans. Looking to explore? Both the Russian River and the town of Monte Rio are within walking distance. The Sonoma Coast, numerous Russian River Valley wineries and the neighboring towns of Guerneville, Duncan's Mills and Occidental are all a short drive away.
The Grove is a delightful property with two levels of ample living space, perfect for groups that want a little space to spread out.
Upper Level (entry level): The entry level has the main kitchen, living and dining room, two bedrooms, one bathroom, and the main deck. The kitchen is well equipped and well-stocked with everything needed to cook. The living/dining room has a comfortable sofa and chairs and the dining table seats 6. Sets of French doors lead out to the deck. The upstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and en suite bath with shower (the only upstairs bathroom). The second bedroom has a queen bed and charming French doors that lead to the side deck - the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee.
Lower Level: The lower level has a living area, kitchenette (no stove), deck, bedroom and bathroom. The lower living area has cable TV and a double sleeper sofa. The large bedroom has a king bed. The downstairs bathroom is lovely, with both a walk-in shower and a soaking tub.

About the host
Hosted by Russian River Vacation Homes

We are Russian River Vacation Homes, a part of D&G Equity Management, Inc., a family owned and locally owned/operated property management company.
Our Story:
In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.
Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.
We strive to make each and every stay the best one ever. If you have any questions or concerns about reserving or staying with us, please don't hesitate to contact us! We are here to help.

What makes this property unique
From the Owners, Tricia and Randy:
Welcome to our little parcel of paradise in the redwoods. We hope you enjoy the peace and beauty of our home as much as we do. We grew up in Santa Rosa but have been living in the Los Angeles area for the past 25 years. Randy has been working as a news reporter for the CBS television stations in Los Angeles since 1995 and Trish is a speech pathologist who works with children with disabilities in the public schools. We decided to buy a vacation home in the Russian River because we have many happy memories of our time in the redwoods while growing up and our families have been coming here for three generations. Randy’s parents used to go dancing to the big bands in Rio Nido and Tricia remembers her parents bringing out of town guests to Armstrong Grove to marvel at the majesty of the redwoods.
Our “Grove” got its name from the fairy ring of 175-foot tall redwood trees that surround the hot tub. You can also get a great view of The Grove by looking back from the upper deck.
We have set the house up to accommodate many interests and people of all ages. On the upper deck you’ll find a comfortable assortment of tables and chairs that can be moved into many different configurations. You’ll also find a Weber barbeque, wine barrel style fire pit and reclining chairs if you just want to sit back and take in the view.
The downstairs deck, which Tricia likes to call “The Veranda,” with its white railings, wicker furniture and her “peacock” lamp, is a relaxing spot where you can curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea.
