Overall disappointing. Seems is being milked for revenue with absolute minimum maintenance.Good-Location, store, pub, bus stop, parkingBad - General disrepair/ unloved, slipshod work, uncaring hostExamples: The glass shelf in the bathroom sags so much that bottles fall off (video avail) The sink droops. There is no soap dish in the shower. The shower control valve is wanky – easy to get scalded. The bathroom door would not and could not latch – later repaired. Vinyl carper runner so cheap that it rolls itself over and becomes a tripping hazard. The handrail on the steps is knee high at the highest step and impossible to grip because of its shape. One windy day the front door would not stay shut. We had to prop a chair against it, and could not leave until the latch was fixed. Security was a joke - anyone could push the door open with ease.On the topic of host support – Had trouble with the tv service being intermittent. After twice advising, the host ordered a tiny new tv. 3 days later it was installed. The host gave no guidance when asked on how to get channels. The local channels were not available without a login we did not have. Without my YouTube we would have had nothing. A couple of nights the temp went to the lower 50’s Turning up the thermostat only put heat upstairs. Investigation showed the down radiators turned off and taped off. Again, no guidance from host.Did I mention the slugs? Step on one of those barefoot for the experience of a lifetime.Vids/ pics

Just Okay

Pros:There is a nearby bus stop that takes you to city center (runs every 20 minutes). There is a pub and a convenience store nearby. The parking across the street was quite helpful. Oxford is a fun place to visitCons:Description implies that it's a short walk to city center. It's at least 1/2 hour walk. The house is small with steep stairs. Communication with host before checkin was quite poor. Host did not respond to VRBO messages, voicemail, or text. I had to call VRBO support to get our checkin information the night before. Communication afterwards was better. No BBQ as advertised. We never met the host, in spite of staying three weeks and him living across the street (his mother was friendly). It would have helped if someone had walked us through the house on arrival. Hints: the freezer is under the stairs. The top oven functions as a microwave.

Lovely house in quiet road

Enjoyed our stay. Corner shop and pub at the end of the road although we didn’t use either of them. Nice quiet residential area. Host gave me all check in info well ahead. Would stay again.
