Easy access to both coasts with beautiful sandy beaches and coastal walks. A good base for visiting many famous gardens, including Eden, Lost Gardens of Heligan and many National Trust Houses. We have lived here for over 23 years and are now retired. Roger sold tractors and agricultural machinery and I was teaching in Plymouth, so it's lovely now we have more time to enjoy where we live. We love walking out on Dartmoor and both coasts with Millie our border terrier. We have three children who are all live away with our 4 grandchildren. They are spread far and wide even to Australia but they all really enjoy coming back from cities to the peace and quiet of Monkstone where they grew up.
Why they chose this property
We chose Monkstone because of it's location. The views of Dartmoor and Brentor Church set high on a tor are the best in the area. We have peace and quiet yet are only 5 minutes drive into Tavistock which is a thriving country town. Lots of coffee shops, places to eat and the amazing indoor Pannier Market which draws people from all over the area. It's a really buzzy place.
What makes this property unique
There are so few places in the country now that have peace and quiet but are convenient and Monkstone has this. The views here are amazing and with walks from the doorstep it's the perfect place to unwind and watch the setting sun or star gaze with no light pollution.
