This six-million-acre recreation area in upstate New York has drawn nature lovers for decades (visitors have included Ralph Waldo Emerson, the Vanderbilt's and Marjorie Meriwether Post). Magical place
We love the total Adirondack vibe with inside furnishings, decor, fand ambience all combining to make a very restful and memorable vacation The grounds are very well landscaped and returning at night with the Christmas lights on was spectacular. The outdoor pool and hot tub was used frequently and the skating rink and skates provided was a big hit.

Excellent Adirondack Summer Vacation
The Whiteface Lodge is a very special property - they have managed to keep the warmth, look/feel and hospitality of a classic mountain lodge while also ensuring guests have a fantastic family friendly luxury vacation. The location of the lodge is excellent - awesome mountain views and you are within 5 minutes of the restaurants/shops of downtown Lake Placid. The amenities at the lodge are unbelievable as well - great pool, tennis courts, game room, kids play area, nightly bonfire, decent on-site restaurants and a full spa. The hotel also has a private beach club ( 5 minute hotel provided shuttle) on Lake Placid with free kayaks, canoes, paddle boats as well as beach volleyball/badminton. Our family of four intended to spend 2 hours at the beach and ended up spending the whole day there - lots of fun for adults and kids alike. This particular room at the lodge is really a fully functioning 1 bedroom/1.5 bathroom apartment - with a full kitchen, living room/dining room area, beautiful porch with mountain views, as well as a large bedroom with a king size bed. You also get house-keeping twice a day - which was a pleasant surprise. Our family of four was very comfortable during our 5 day stay. From a Homeaway perspective the booking was completely seamless and you checked in like a regular hotel guest. The hosts are great - happy to answer questions/provide area help as needed - however since the Lodge provides a full time concierge most of those needs are taken care of by the team at the lodge vs the hosts. I would recommend this property wholeheartedly -- there is so much to do in the area and the facilities are top-notch. We can't wait to go back as soon as possible!!
