In a unique and unrivalled position set right on a private beach overlooking the Solway Firth and the mountains of the Lake District. This really is a position that dreams are made of. No roads, no light pollution just stunning views and total peace and quiet. Shore Cottage is a charming beachfront holiday cottage with 3 bedrooms (one double, two twin) , a comfortable sitting room with a large sofa to sink into while enjoying the views from the panoramic window that looks out to sea, and two armchairs. There is a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine etc, a dinning room with seating for 8 and two bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a bath). A sunny enclosed garden (dog proof) perfect for enjoying a BBQ and long delicious glass of something! Great for birdwatching (between two major bird sanctuaries - Mersehead and Caerlaverock), close to two of the 7 Stanes mountain biking routes, a championship golf course a few miles away (Southerness) and fantastic countryside all around so very popular with artists and walkers. This is the perfect switch off place. Fantastic walks straight from the door and a great pub a 45 minute walk along the beach.

The location and view were out of this world, sadly the cottage let the accomodations down. Needed a great deal of loving care to be brought up what the price is, if this was completed it would be stunning and well worth the price. Would return if this was considered.
We loved the house, it's position right on the beach and the 180° views across the Solway Firth with it's pink sands, rock pools and fossils.
The house reminded me of childhood holidays in Arran where the furniture is well loved and the floors are all a bit wonky. When the wind got up, we had the definite sensation of being at sea in a boat rather than being on dry land! We loved it!
Our hosts were extremely welcoming and we loved the occasional impromptu visits from the hens and Pebbles the friendly dog.
A wonderful spot for a quiet holiday with your own beach on your doorstep!
The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. The location of the property was exceptional, rural and right on the beach. We had an exceptional week of weather. It is a lovely, quirky cottage but is a bit tired in areas and could do with some upgrading/ decorating especially in the third bedroom. All in all a lovely stay.
Absolute stunning location, very relaxing , it’s the perfect place to relax and getaway from everything. The views from the garden and front of the house are breathtaking.
The cottage was lovely and had everything you need.
It’s definitely somewhere I’ll go back to.
The house is a bit old-fashioned and staying there is somewhat reminiscent of visiting an old aunt, but it is clean and fully furnished. The hosts are very sympathetic and extremely helpful. The location of the house on the beach is uniquely beautiful. We as a family of five felt very comfortable there.
The location is quite breathtaking.
The property is spacious but tired, as are the furniture and fitments.
The owner/contact was exceptionally prompt and helpful when contacted.
