About this property

Beautiful Converted Barn - close to Newgale Beach & Pembrokeshire Coast

Recently renovated to a very high standard Meadow Barn offers spacious family holiday accommodation. Conveniently situated in the village of Roch the cottage is one of three, set around a gravel yard adjacent to the owners property. The cottage benefits from off street parking for two cars and its own private garden with BBQ and picnic bench. Newgale Beach is just a mile and a half away and we are also ideally located for exploring the coastal scenery that Pembrokeshire has to offer.

Inside the cottage there is a large open plan sitting / dining room with vaulted ceiling and patio doors into a generous conservatory. The main double bedroom is on the ground floor and also benefits from patio doors to the garden and an en-suite WC. There is a small step up between the main living room and other rooms downstairs. Upstairs there is a bathroom with bath and electric shower and a twin bedroom suitable for adults or children.

This holiday cottage is very attractive inside, retaining many of its original features, including exposed stone walls, original beams and brick arches. At the same time it also benefits from modern amenities such as double glazing and oil central heating.

Meadow Barn is generously equipped with all that you need to make your stay comfortable, including dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer as well as FreeSat TV. We invest in good quality mattresses to make beds as comfortable as possible and use hotel quality, pure cotton sheets as well as providing additional wool blankets for each bed. The cottage is heated with oil central heating (included) and also has a feature electric fire in the main room. In combination with good insulation (and thick stone walls) our experience is that the cottage is comfortable and cosy even in the depths of Winter. Decorated with work from local artists and local photos.

Easter get away
Plenty of space for a family of 4. The property was perfect, we didn’t want or need anything. The welcome pack was excellent and the information book covered lots of information. There was a lovely touch when we arrived with homemade cakes, including Welsh cakes. A highly recommended place to stay

Short break
Lovely short break at Meadow Barn! We were kindly left traditional welsh treats on arrival. The barn was perfect. Lovely walks especially from St Davids back along the coast path. Thanks for a great stay!

A fantastic relaxing Christmas Break
We arrived at the property on Boxing day as a family of 3 (inc a teenager). The host had been in touch a good few weeks before our arrival with lots of information, including location, local amenities and things to do in the area. Being Christmas they even asked if we'd like a Christmas tree, which we accepted and it looked great! The property was superbly clean, warm, comfortable and very well equipped and we were supplied with a number of essentials including tea, milk, cleaning products, dishwasher and washing machine tabs to name a few. Paul and Juliet were even so kind as to supply some slices of Christmas cake and Mince pies. For us, the location was superb, a short 15 minute drive to Haverfordwest for grocery shopping, 20 minutes to the fantastic St Davids, 2 minutes to Newgale Beach, 40 minutes to Tenby. The village is small and quiet, perfect for a short evening walk up to the Castle (now a hotel). Despite the rural location, the wifi worked really for the duration of our stay. We were sorry to leave in the end as the property felt like a real home from home and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends looking stay in Pembrokeshire. A real 5* property.

Exceptional place to stay
We stayed for 4 nights and were incredibly impressed. We travel around the country a lot and have stayed in numerous places but this definitely ranks at the top of the list. (And it wasn't just the complimentary and very delicious cake on arrival!) It was extremely spacious and comfortable. A very reasonable price (although it was November) and it is extremely well-equipped - everything you could possibly need except a food processor. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Very impressed with the cottage.
Everything you could need for a relaxing get away. Warm and welcoming on a rainy day with a garden for sunny days. Really well positioned about a mile away from the sea. We loved visiting Solva, St David's, Fishguard and Newport

Grew up in Pembrokeshire and returned to the area to run our own business and to bring up our own family. Passionate about the wonderful beaches and scenery that Pembrokeshire has to offer.

Why they chose this property

We loved the beaches in the area - particularly Newgale, but Nolton Haven and Solva also very special. Bought our property here because its so convenient for the coast and beaches but still central enough to be able to access local services and to explore Pembrokeshire more widely.

What makes this property unique

We liked the character of the property - built of traditional Pembrokeshire stone, with the original brick arches that allowed access. In converting it to a modern standard we have tried to maintain as much of the original character as possible. The thick stone walls mean that its cost in Winter - but stays cool in the hottest of Summers
