Independent house in Ortigia with view of archaeological excavation in front of Palazzo Montalt

The house is located right in the center of Ortiggia in front of Palazzo Montalto and offers a wonderful view of an historic archaeological excavation. The house is completely independent and flanks Piazzetta Mergulensi. La Dimora consists of living area and kitchen equipped with everything needed for cooking, dining table and chairs with tableware; 1 double sofa bed with very comfortable slats, a small terrace with a dining table and outdoor furniture. It is possible to have lunch both at home and on the terrace. A wooden staircase leads to the mezzanine floor where there is a bedroom that serves as a second living area and a bed with a comfortable double sofa bed always with slats. An attached bathroom is also relevant. The same staircase leads to the upper floor where we find a spacious and bright double bedroom with a balcony overlooking the archaeological excavation, a 4-season wardrobe, a shoe rack and a bathroom with a shower completely covered in mosaic and a shower head.

Great location but lack of the maintenance

The location was only a few steps away from Diana Fountain, which was the centre of Ortigia. The property was tastefully furnished that was the reason I booked this property. But there was no shower in the second bathroom (I had to book another property for my son and his partner), the TV was not working (missed World Cup), the all dishes were kept on the really badly rusted metal rack and no way to recycle/ appropriately discard the domestic rubbish other than to throw all into the public bins in the nearby street (I was told off by a passerby). The worst of all, the owner had no intention of doing anything. When I complained, she got angry with me!!! And the person in charge spoke not quite adequate English, which could sometimes make our understanding of each other difficult (e.g. she mixed up personal pronouns. Was she talking about me or someone else???). All the while I stayed there for a month I felt as if I was inspecting her property for her. What a waste of my time and energy! If the owner had taken a bit of care of her own property, I could have made my stay very pleasant. It was a shame.

Non mi era mai accaduto dover segnalare alla Società Vrbo per ben 4 volte un ospite. Richieste e pretese volte anche per messaggi scritto con toni minacciosi e assolutamente poco cordiali. Richiesta di sostituzione dei filtri della cappa della cucina, pretesa di entrare a qualsiasi costo in un ripostiglio di assoluta gestione esclusiva della proprietà, Richiesta e pretesa dei detersivi e di tutto quello non menzionato nel contratto. La signora non so cosa abbia combinato ma ha staccato l'antenna del televisore, inviato anche un tecnico, e non addebitate le spese pur di evitare ancora problemi. La mia assistente è arrivata esasperata per i toni isgradevoli e dittatoriali usati dell'ospite oltre ,ripeto,le pretese e richieste assurde che mi hanno portata a dover segnalare il tutto alla società per ben 4 volte. Mai mi era accaduta una situazione simile, esperienza davvero terrificante cui ho tenuto segnalare.

Jolie maison au décor raffiné. Située vraiment au milieu de l’ile D’Ortigia, aux origines de Syracuse. Amoureux des villes anciennes et des beaux marchés, précipitez-vous.
