This is a beautiful property and in a great location for country walks right on the doorstep. We have everything we needed, kitchen well equipped, comfortable furniture and quirky features. We have stayed here a few times before and would love to go back again. A real gem.
Beautiful place and location, very cosy and peaceful. Loved watching the rabbits frolicking, playing pool and chess in the communal area. A very special place indeed.
Stunning accommodation in a beautiful setting. We had an amazing, relaxing time at the Royalist suite. Great location to explore nearby towns. Access to the spa is a great bonus, though very busy in the afternoon. Wish we could have stayed longer, will be back for sure! Stephanie was a great host.
Lovely, unique accommodation in a pleasant village. Easy access to M6 and routes to Kendal and other Lake District areas. Communal zone inside Orton Hall is stunning, as are its gardens.

Lovely property, nice to see the Red Squirrels. Very scenic, nice and quiet with a lovely local pub and shop. Enjoyed our stay.
We spent two nights here while we explored the Lake District. It was lovely and cozy - a well appointed place for us to return to every evening. The bed is divine!!
We stayed as a family and my daughter loved the bookcase door. The property has all the comforts and amenities that you need and really enjoyed the history of the place. we wish we were there longer as it's lovely base in Lake District.
Our second time here, and even more lovely to be back after a few years of not being able to make it. Orton is a lovely little village, with a great pub (The George), and other amenities. We had a great time.

Staying here was the highlight of our trip, especially for our two daughters. They were enchanted by the breathtaking grounds and they particularly loved the secret book case and all the games, books and movies available. We'll definitely be back.
This property is quirky in all the right ways and it's everything you need. The hidden rooms behind the bookcase is such a unique touch and it's somewhere I will definitely be looking to stay again. I will say this though.. take extra clothing because the description is right....it's certainly nippy in winter.. take extra
Lovely environment, and beautiful gardens. Very well located for travel to surrounding areas of interest. Had everything we needed and enjoyed walking the bridle paths. The George Hotel great for dinner. Just make sure you have change for the washer and dryer if you need them!
Our 2nd time here and did not disappoint again. We love this place, it has so much character. Great location and always quiet. We will definitely see you again soon. Thanks

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here such an unusual place having a secret door was great fun and not something we have come across before .parking was easy internet speed was good plus the tv has Netflix and there are lots of books and dvds to choose from ,the kitchen and bathroom was a bit dated but very clean and perfectly fine another joy was watching the red squirrels playing on the lawn right outside the apartment.
A completely gorgeous flat, full of character, in a beautiful historic hall - after wonderful days out in the Lake District and Westmorland Dales, this was the perfect retreat to come home to. Thank you!
Absolutely loved our stay at Orton Hall. It had everything we wanted and more. Having already stayed before 8 years ago it was lovely to go back. Situated in a beautiful place with easy access to the lake district. Suite had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend.

Would hope to return.
Lovely stay in a lovely house. Area was beautiful, good proximity to Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Just off Motorway but far enough away to not notice it. Really quaint property, loved the bookcase hidden doorway. Lots of books, dvds etc for use. Milk, cookies, tea, coffee etc provided. Handy location to charge our electric vehicle at Tebay services.
Lovely apartment with everything you need for a short break and walking distant to local village and pub. Takes a bit of time to warm up at first bit very cosy. Will go againto visit more of the surrounding areas when the weather is better.
