About the host
Hosted by Dorothea Orme
Hello, I'm Dorothea and I am a designer, mother and grandmother who has returned to university for an MA in Design, working mainly in ecological design.
I am fortunate to be able to live on Plymouth Hoe and have been here for over 30 years. It has been a fabulous place to bring up my family who are now adults and most live close by. I have been letting accommodation to theatre companies for over 25 years and in the last 5 years I've moved more into holiday accommodation.
I enjoy gardening and growing organic vegetables at my allotment garden. I've also returned to ballet after many years and am thoroughly enjoying the classes and meeting fellow 'Silver Swans'. My life is busy and full-on but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I am always delighted meeting guests and and you can have as much or as little interaction with me as you please. I live fairly close to the accommodation so am on hand if you need me but otherwise I will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay.
I look forward to welcoming you to Plymouth Hoe.

Why they chose this property
The first time I saw this 1920s apartment I just loved its Quirky feel and its potential to be a fun and convenient holiday location. It's got a bright and sunny feel to the place and guests regularly return which is great news.
The Hoe has such a great vibe about it and when I came here on a visit I knew I wanted to live here.

What makes this property unique
There is a flat rooftop terrace which is very popular in the summer months as it is such a sunny space. There are giant bean bags and flat based tables to use as the roof surface is not suitable for chairs and tables. Guests must only wear trainers, flats and flip flops on the terrace.
