The Bothy was the perfect holiday accommodation for us, it was like a home from home there was nothing we needed that wasn't already there. Would love to go back as it was ideally placed for all the places we wanted to go to. The owners were very welcoming.

Quiet location, perfect for a couple and their dog, lots of great walks a short drive away. Cottage has been renovated to a high standard. Warm, cosy with log burner and a weeks supply of logs. Secure outside storage for my bike. Couldn't fault it. Lots of good eating pubs within a 10 minute drive. Very satisfied and would highly recommend.

A lovely little cottage in a quiet location, yet easy to get around the local area by car to visit places such as Clovelly, Bude, Tintagel, Woolacombe. The cottage was spacious but cosy, very clean and reasonably well equipped although Covid regulations meant many things were removed.
We loved the fresh eggs that you can buy from the owners, and these were clearly popular with the locals. The Co-op in Kilkhampton was the closest and easiest place to top up on essentials before returning to the Bothy at the end of a lovely day out. Local beaches (Duckpool, Sandymouth, Northcott) made a good spot to watch the sunset over fish and chips.

We had a great time at the Bothy .
We had a great time at the Bothy . The cottage is much bigger than we thought from the pictures and is really well equipped - all you could need was there and it was spotlessly clean. We stayed during covid so they had removed some things like board games which we completely understood and thought was very responsible. Cottage is in a beautiful quiet area , some lakes a short walk away , and great for beaches like sandymouth and Bude . Also a great base to explore North Cornish Coast , the walking trails and north Devon - we also went to Dartmoor in around and hour . Great place hope to return.

A lovely cottage in a quiet rural setting, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Owners, Brian and Sue, gave us a warm and friendly welcome and were on hand throughout our stay with helpful advice on trips out etc. We found the cottage well situated for visiting the coast and we walked many sections of the coast path from Hartland Point to Bude during our stay, though you do have to negotiate narrow lanes in all directions!

The Bothy is stylish and cosy, well equipped and the little touches, like the welcoming cream tea and wine are lovely. As others have said it is remote, so we took food with us, but the lanes do get a bit stressful as you have to drive everywhere (so no pint with the pub food sadly!). There are no walks directly from the cottage. As we had poor weather we were in more than planned so felt the comfort factor was a little lower, just as it's so small and the sofa/chair not that great after a while, but if you are mostly out this would be fine.

This was our second visit to The Bothy, and once again we enjoyed every moment. It is spotlessly clean, cosy, very well furnished, and well equipped with everything needed for a lovely holiday.
Once again there was a welcome tray with scones cream and jam,as well as a bottle of wine, and flowers.A wonderful sight after a long journey. We didnt see Sue and Brian this time,as they were away on holiday, but remember receiving a warm welcome on our previous visit. We hope to return again in the future. Highly recommended as a base to explore this beautiful area.

Excellent little cottage in the grounds of the owners smallholding, way out in the country, surrounded by fields, so you need a car to get around.
Sue and Brian made us feel very welcome and were about if we needed anything but didn’t intrude. A lovely cream tea awaited us with flowers and wine for later ?
We arrived with Storm Hannah and cold winds so the woodburner and a good supply of logs was much appreciated. Very nice to relax in front of after a day out walking.
We spent a lot of time in and around Bude doing the canal and coast path walks. Hope to return in warmer weather.

A lovely little holiday cottage, cosy and scrupulously clean. Pretty courtyard garden for sitting out, and all the sights and sounds of the Devon countryside. Ten minutes' drive to the nearest town of any size, but if you're looking to get away from it all, this is the place.

Stayed at this comfortable and stylish cottage many times now. The owners are friendly and helpful but don't intrude. Fresh eggs for sale every day from their small-holding, great views of the rolling Devon landscape, and wonderful walking country right on the doorstep. Cosy in winter and bright in summer. Highly recommended for those looking for a rural retreat!
