Captains Cottage is an award-winning holiday cottage and is the one retained by the developers partly for their own family use. Sensitively re-built from a former old smokehouse, the architect designed interiors are spacious and well-proportioned with double glazing, cosy efficient heating and an array of bathrooms/shower rooms. Parking for two cars and an outdoor seating area with picnic chairs are available (both almost unique in Whitby). The cottage is in an ideal position for both summer and winter holidays. Old maritime Whitby with all its history, the famous 199 steps, the abbey, restaurants, pubs and museums are all within a short stroll. Extensive walking including the Cleveland Way is available locally and even direct from the cottage.
