The Downs Barn Lodge

Children are welcome at the property and can roam freely in the grounds, excellent organic shop close by, close to many attractions.. All on the Ground Floor:

Kitchen area: Electric Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine

Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet

Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds

Bathroom: Roll Top Bath With Shower Attachment, Toilet. Air source heat pumping (underfloor in en-suite and bathroom), solar-powered electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner provided, additional logs available locally. Welcome pack. Small lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. Natural grounds. Outdoor table tennis table. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times. No smoking.. The Downs Barn Lodge is a single-storey, detached lodge, within an AONB, sadly we have recently lost all of our re-homed battery chickens, but we are waiting for the next batch to be liberated. Adjacent to the owner’s beautiful home, which has featured in many magazines and newspapers, the holiday property is located in the heart of the Cotswolds, between the town of Stroud and Cirencester. There is an award-winning farm shop and café just a 3-minute walk from the property. Superbly located for touring the villages of the Cotswold Hills, Tetbury and Westonbirt all close by, and Cheltenham within 20 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub ¾ mile.

Initial fuel included for woodburner, rest available locally. The building is heated by an air source heat pump.Children are welcome to enjoy the garden but are strictly prohibited from entering the rear of the garden marked PRIVATE and the lawn in front of the main house. They should be supervised at all times. There is a swing attached to a tree and it can be used at your own risk.

Only dogs allowed at the property.

Wonderful stay in a great location for what we wanted to do.

Wonderful stay in a great location for what we wanted to do. Lovely grounds in which I came across a deer on a morning stroll. Owners gave all info needed a couple days before and very nice to talk to while we were there. Would definitely stay again.

The cottage was lovely and spacious with very comfortable beds. Plenty of room to sit around the table or relax around the coffee table. We had a very enjoyable family weekend.I couldn't rate it as 5 star because the sink in the bathroom wouldn't drain at all which became a problem over the weekend despite discussing with the owners.

We had a lovely restful week at The Downs Barn Lodge. The owners, Lucinda & Julian, were charming and helpful; we could not have asked for more. The location is fantastic with far reaching views from the beautiful grounds. The only downside was the slight traffic noise but this did not detract from our overall impression. A lovely well equipped property which was very clean with nice bedrooms and a lovely living/kitchen/dinner. Ideal for holidays. Good base is you want to see Gloucester, Stroud and Cirencester. There was a nice coffee shop very near but unfortunately there was no pub in walking distance.

We had a lovely weekend at the Downs Barn Lodge, very comfortable, a home away from home. My only concern was that the heating was hard to control and it was quite chilly. Although there was plenty of wood there was no kindling to light the fire, it would be nice to provide initial fuel for the fire as the cottage was quite cold without it. We saw the chickens but sadly the ducks were no longer around. A little welcome pack would also be very helpful. But overall we had a very nice break.

Had a lovely stay . Well equipped lodge with all you need. Especially appreciatec lovely quality bedding . Good location . Farm shop very nice . Frampton Mansell a short walk away . Lovely pub there. Nice touch was of a bottle of wine and some choccies left as a welcome gift .

The cottage was very comfortable and very well located.

The cottage was very comfortable and very well located. Owners were very nice and helpful. The only couple of improvements would be the cleanliness of the head shower in the bathroom and the fact that it dropped water in the middle of the night waking me up several times. Also, it would have been great if there was a bbq available. In that awesome garden it would be nice to have one.

A really lovely barn in a fantastic part of the world.

A really lovely barn in a fantastic part of the world. Disappointing that it’s advertised as dog friendly, but when you get there dogs need to be on a lead and unable to run around the garden as it isn’t enclosed, it also has 5 chickens which again wander around making sitting out unpleasant. Very friendly owners and I would recommend, but for the dog element which was a disappointment.
