A mixed review for the following reasons:-
Best location for walking. Good facilities within the cottage regarding storage etc. Unspoiled interior retaining many old features. Well heated at all times making it a comfort to return to the cottage at any time, always a massive bonus. Cold cottages a definite no no.
On the negative side we were disappointed that nothing had been left for firelighting facilities dsspite welcome book stating there should be. A fair drive to buy anything to do the job so suggest taking your own including logs as only 6 pine left which would only smolder. We are experienced with open fires. The real negative factor for us was that the total tranquility of the village was spoiled by 2+ dogs at a close farmhouse barking for very much of the time including 3am in the morning. An occassional bark is acceptable but these dog owners were most inconsiderate to their neighbours. Had we had a dog with us it would surely have been disturbed by this unnecessary noise. For that reason alone we would not return. Most unfortunate.
We loved the quirky design of this cottage and appreciated the cosiness of the living room. Our children especially loved the windows in the walls.

Appreciate the age of the cottage but feel investing in alternative heating system would be worthwhile as the cottage is cold. Outside of the living room when the fire is lit the other rooms are uncomfortably chilly. Basic level of cleanliness. Comfortable bed & stunning views. Suggest moving key safe to side of door or cutting back foliage around current location.

Really well equipped holiday, with effective open fire (essential this chilly June) comfy beds and chairs, but a teeny tiny bath. Beautiful location and only 200m from the Fox and Hounds pub which is now open 7 nights for food with a really God’s offering. Great walks from the door, and the dog came too.

Wonderful cottage.
Wonderful cottage. Amazing for exploring the dales right on the doorstep with so many different walks. Good area in the cottage for dogs containing too. Pillows could do with replacing or bring your own - only criticism. Welcoming local pub was all that was needed in terms of amenities.

Everything spot on , just one negative, when the temperature outside hit zero the storage heaters were inadequate to keep the house warm / comfortable... though the open fire was a treat in the living room
