We had a really relaxing week in Richmond using this lovely cottage as a base. From the house you can walk to the many restaurants and pubs in the town, warning it is a short steep uphill walk. We also had many trips deeper into swaledale which was as lovely as ever. This was our second stay, and won’t be our last.
the property is of a standard that is more than you would expect for the price, and the little extras wine milk juice were unexpected and very much appreciated.

A beautiful and spotless cottage in a great location with the added bonus of a garage!
A lovely bottle of sparkly on arrival was a nice touch, although milk & teabags maybe appreciated more by some after their journey as description mentions a welcome pack?
We would definitely return again and recommend to everyone we know!

A great place to stay (the cottage and Richmond) if you are able bodied! Lower score for cleanliness
A great place to stay (the cottage and Richmond) if you are able bodied! Lower score for cleanliness as I had to clean the grill pan before I could use it. Lower score for amenities, nothing to do with the cottage but the two beer drinkers among us were not impressed with the lack of real ale in some of the pubs. The Castle Inn and the Buck Hotel (? accuracy of name of the latter) did have decent ale. Otherwise Richmond is a fascinating place, so much history and stunning scenery & walks.
The cottage owner was very helpful.

I can't recommend this cottage highly enough.
I can't recommend this cottage highly enough. It is beautifully decorated and furnished and we felt at home instantly. The owners have thought of everything! We were aware from the online information that only a small or medium sized family car would fit in the garage so we left our larger car at home - but public car parks are close by, so don't be deterred by this. The hill to the market square is steep but short. It's great to be so close to all amenities, and a car isn't needed to explore all lovely Richmond has to offer. We will definitely return to Halfehill Cottage.

Lovely cottage with everything we needed.
Lovely cottage with everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Close to the market square (bit of a hill though to get there, but easier as the week goes on). Loads to see and do in the town itself. Only went out in the car once. I used the car park after scraping it on the garage trying to get it in the day we arrived. Washing machine was great to have but nowhere to hang out anything, so perhaps a clothes horse would be helpful. Only 2 of us, so we just brought ours home.
