Nestling in the village of Dunkeswell, in a rural area and off the beaten track, surrounded by farmland, this little detached lodge is a great location for couples or a small family looking for somewhere tucked away, yet convenient for exploring a wider area of Devon.
This timber clad, holiday lodge with pine vaulted ceilings and wooden floors, is light, bright and airy, and is situated adjacent to the owner’s farmhouse. The accommodation is all on the ground floor and comprises a living/dining area with a cosy electric ‘stove-effect’ fire for those cooler evenings, and a well-equipped kitchen should you decide to rustle up a meal or snack. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with twin beds, and a family shower room completes the picture.
The village of Dunkeswell comprises the old quarter which is the prettier part with old cottages and the church, and the new area with modern houses and a shop.
Situated on the outskirts of the Dunkeswell airfield, a busy hub for light aircraft, flight training, wingwalking and skydiving.
The charming market town of Honiton is just 5 miles away and was made famous for its pottery and lace. The town is regarded as the antiques capital of the south west, and there are traditional street markets held here 3 days a week.
The ancient city of Exeter is within easy reach and worth a visit. Explore the city walls in the centre of town, whilst a visit to the Gothic cathedral and Norman castle is a must. Don’t miss the underground passages and tunnels that were used to house lead pipes bringing clean drinking water from natural springs into the city.
Shop and post office 2 miles, pubs 5 miles, licenced restaurant ½ mile.

Beautiful location if you like quiet and peaceful.
Beautiful location if you like quiet and peaceful. If you like to shop then this maybe not for you. We took food etc with us, Tesco aldi and Lidl within driving distance. The cottage/lodge cosy and comfortable with all you need. On arrival nice touch with a welcome pack. Hosts sue and Barry very friendly and nothing too much trouble if you needed anything. Would definitely return to this cosy warm place
