The Cart House is a grade 2 listed building that has been comprehensively and sympathetically restored to provide high quality, self-catering, holiday accommodation. Now the spacious three storey stone cottage comfortably sleeps two people and is beautifully furnished, boasting stunning exposed wooden beams and an open, plan living area.
The Space:
We have really put our personal touch into The Cart House to ensure it provides a lovely relaxing holiday home. At The Cart House we supply the following for every guests stay:- TV with Freeview and DVD, DAB, FM radio with CD player and Bluetooth, storage for bicycles and equipment, WiFi, Gas central heating and electric coal effect fire, kitchen with dishwasher, washer – dryer, microwave and fridge with icebox. Off road parking for one car and additional on street parking is available nearby if required.
A charming stone-built cottage located in Axbridge, Somerset. A truly fabulous location for exploring the South West. The holiday cottage was built in 1778 as accommodation for a cart, two horses and a groom upstairs. During World War One it was used to store coal and later as a carpenter’s shop and store.

The Neighborhood:
Axbridge is very well located for exploring the Somerset countryside and the and nearby market towns. The coast is 10 miles away and both Bath and Bristol are within 30 miles and the Cart House Holiday Cottage is an excellent base from which to explore these historic and lively cities.
The history of Axbridge stretches back to prehistoric times with evidence of people living in the caves of the Mendip Hills. Later the Romans settled and mined in the area. However, it is with the medieval period that Axbridge is most closely associated.
Getting Around:
Easy access to the motorways and A roads. We would recommend travelling by motor-vehicle, however there are plenty of walks nearby.

There are two smoke detectors with both 2 safety lights (torches) a fire blanket and two powder fire extinguishers, together with a fire escape plan.
