What an incredible piece with majestic views, and private if you’re looking for that. It was the perfect location for us to get to Munising (make sure to ride the @riptideride!), Macinac island and back to Harbor Springs and Petosky.
Second time at this property. Great location. Quiet and relaxing. Owner always responded quickly with answers to questions I had. Would stay there again and again. The 24yo boys that were with me loved it this year as much as last!
We just got home yesterday after staying here for 6 days. It was absolutely gorgeous! The view and sound of Lake Michigan is great. You can even see Mackinaw Bridge from the shore. Would stay again!
This cabin was in a fantastic location right on Lake Michigan with amazing views of freighters. It is secluded, but still in reasonable distances to enjoy the sites from White Fish Point and the Ship Wreck Museum, Tahquamenon Falls, Sauté Ste. Marie/Soo Locks, hiking in Cedarville, and Mackinaw Island. Being Labor Day weekend, it was also close to the Mackinac Bridge Walk. We had an amazing stay. The cabin does have well water so we recommend you bring your own water to drink.
It was a quiet, peaceful cabin to stage our UP vacation. Great staging point for out Mackinac Island, Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, and Beach (sand dunes) vacation. Unplugging the family was need for all of us.
This was our 6th stay at this cabin—we keep coming back because it is FANTASTIC. It’s super clean, big kitchen, awesome (huge) back deck. And! If you bring enough food, you can stay here for WEEKS without seeing another human. It’s that private. And! It’s a cabin in the U.P., it’s utterly charming; with wetlands COVERED in dragonflies between the cabin & the beach! Bald eagles visit daily. Loons, ducks, seagulls, giant woodpeckers—it’s magical. The beach is rocky & glorious. The views are amazing from the cabin, the lawn/fire pit, the beach. Bring your binoculars to watch the freighters pass by (there’s an app that tells you which ones they are, their length, their cargo, & their destination). Lastly, stay up past sunset & go sit outside & stargaze. It’s incredible. It’s lovely. Also, we sleep SO WELL here! We will come back here as often as we can!
Ive never left a negative review, but I felt this merited one. We left this morning and said goodbye to all our new mice friends. They enjoyed our trail mix I forgot to put in the fridge last night. This morning when I turned on the light they scattered behind the fridge and fireplace. It is a beautiful location but the well water smells like sulfur and stains your skin orange. Chairs by the fire were broke/cracked-so bring your own chairs. Sheets upstairs were blood stained. In general, it just felt dirty. Think a step above tent camping and you won’t be disappointed. For the money, it would have been much better to stay at a hotel in St Ignace (most are right on the water).
The cabin is spacious and well equipped, had absolutely everything we needed. The location was great for U.P. day trips, or just staying put and relaxing.
After several stays here, I just can’t wait to get back! So comfortable, great location; secluded yet close to the city and other amenities. Although all you need is a load of firewood and good company. And Mary is the consummate host.
This was an amazing cabin and met all of our needs! We loved being away from town but close to all the action of the car show! The views from the backyard were beautiful! We loved exploring everyday and coming back to chill at night and didn’t miss having WiFi at all!
This is a great cabin! Secluded yet so close to everything. Incredible views, so comfortable. This was our third stay; we’ll be contacting Mary in a few months to schedule next year’s week.
We have visited this cabin 5 times, & it is the PERFECT artists’ retreat for us (we’re both professional musicians). It is bliss every visit. It is clean, & the kitchen is huge & the bed comfy; yet the view, the rocky beach, the soft air, watching freighters go by, the STARS at night(!), make this place the charming magic it is. We adore it!
This property is perfect! Close enough to town, but such a private place to enjoy campfires under the stars and coffee on the porch in the early morning. So comfortable! Can’t wait to schedule our getaway in 2022!
This property was exactly what we were looking for. Exceeded our expectations. Location was so convenient for what we wanted to do and see. Very peaceful and quiet and was a wonderful place to unwind and unplug. Had two 23year old boys with me and as a mom it was great to see them enjoy it all. They didn’t want to leave that lakefront!!
A nice peaceful vacation rental! Great communication with the host. Beautiful scenery as the rental is nestled in the wilderness.
FYI: Bring plenty of bottled water unless you are accustomed to well water.
The location is that amazing combination of feeling both way out in nature but close to restaurants, the grocery store and other amenities. The views from the beach are amazing: you can see the sunset in one direction and the Mackinaw Bridge in the other. Inside the house, however, we found mice droppings in the silverware drawer and the dresser that held extra sheets in the loft. The stairs had clearly not been swept either, because we found a potato chip on them when first arriving (and upon looking closer, either crumbs or small gravel/sand). There were ample cleaning supplies on hand, so I could disinfect the counters and rewash all the dishes. We also found various items previous people had left behind: a scrunchie on the couch, a Lego on the area rug, and a sock under the couch. The water has a pretty strong iron taste. When I emptied a bottle of the water from the cabin into a white sink, I realized the water was orange. I’m reasonably sure the mouse issue is more of a winter problem.
Absolutely beautiful property. The cabin was ideal for all our needs. Excellent location, convenient to so many activities. The owner was great handling the one minor issue we experienced checking in and made sure we were taken care of quickly. This was by far our best family vacation filled with breathtaking views and unforgettable memories. We would love to return year after year!
