The house is on ground level with spacious, light and sunny rooms. The house has two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, comfortably sleeping 4/5 people - a separate lounge and a spacious kitchen/diner - the house has a light and airy feel with all the modern conveniences to make your stay hassle free. TV Freesat, DVD player, games, table tennis, free Wifi, a library of books / DVDs to choose from, washing machine, hair dryer, iron and ironing board all provided. There is plenty of private parking and the local convenient store and restaurant is within walking distance - you can order your fresh bread and croissants every day.

It is a peaceful place to stay and relax: take a swim or dine out al fresco while watching the sun go down and the stars come out.

Externally the property has lots more to offer - it has 360 degree views, an outdoor pool (May - Sep) 10m x 5m. Have breakfast, lunch or supper sitting outside in the courtyard - a perfect way to enjoy al fresco dining.

There is a local convenience shop, a restuarant and a post office in Cendrieux which you can walk down to in only a few minutes and order your croissants/bread.

A short drive away is access to the Vezere and Dordogne rivers - lots of canoeing activities, castles, restaurants, family parks, zip wires, and fabulous caves are all close by to explore and enjoy.

There is a weekly market in the adjacent local village and an abundance of historical buildings, churches, villages, castles and museums to explore.

The Dordogne has lots to offer couples, families and our house is in a fabulous location to take advantage of all it has to offer.

A lovely stay

Loin du stress de la ville, vous séjournerez dans un havre de paix. Helen et Andy sont aux petits soins tout en restant très discrets. C'est très appréciable. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Petit bémol vous êtes loin de tout (15km) et 45mn au moins de Sarla, Beynac, Castelnaud... mais c'est le prix de la tranquillité.

Un cadre agréable, les propriétaires habitent à côté mais sont d’une remarquable discrétion et toujours disponibles pour remédier à une difficulté. La maison et la piscine sont très agréables. Et le petit village de saint Alvere à moins de 6 Km très pratique.

Logement très agréable et très pratique dans un très joli cadre

Le logement est très fonctionnel et très pratique. Les pièces sont toutes en rez de chaussée avec des murs extérieurs épais ce qui fait que la maison reste bien fraîche pendant les chaleurs La piscine est super agréable, grande et avec la vue sur la campagne environnante. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

Helen and I have travelled frequently in southern Europe but have always had a soft spot for the south of France and fell in love with the Dordogne when we first discovered the beautiful countryside, culture and french way of life. We wanted to try something new and set upon building a new life for ourselves in the Dordogne. We live discreetly on site but available if you need any advice or info about the area.

Why they chose this property

We had been looking for a property in the South of France for a few years and, after several visits to Provence and the Dordogne, we stumbled across this beautiful property, having seen many others up to that point, we knew immediately it was 'the one'. Having worked in real estate in the UK for many years, we are acutely aware of the 'emotional influences' that are at play when looking for your perfect property; people ultimately buy properties with their hearts, and that was certainly the case for us .

What makes this property unique

Being located in the centre of the Dordogne, right in the heart of the Perigord region, sells itself - weather, countryside, culture, history and lifestyle. In addition to this, the tranquil and peaceful rural location of this property offers the chance to switch off in an idyllic setting and to unwind with friends and family. There is plenty of space inside and out and the property is within walking distance of the local shop. You can relax by the pool play table-tennis or dine outside al fresco.
